Blake Bortles has declared. Shouldn't really be a surprise but I had read recently that he was really thinking about staying, which would have confused the hell out of me.
Listed Thomas as "ATH" for athlete. Should have listed him as TA2 for "Tavon Austin 2.0", for that crowd.
Donte Moncrief, Xavier Su'a-Filo, Odell Beckham, Ron Powel, Lache Seastrunk, Bashaud Breeland, Jarvis Landry and Storm Johnson declare.
We need to go after D'Anthony Thomas. That is a good young weapon you can use to help your franchise QB out for years.
Among these, Ronin already had Moncrief, Beckham and Landry. The new ones are Xavier Su'a-Filo, Ron Powell, Lache Seastrunk, Bashaud Breeland and Storm Johnson.
We better grab a WR within the first 3 rds with some of these names coming out. Watkins, Evans, Robinson, Lee, Beckham, Landry, Moncreif, etc.
I'll comb through this thread later tonight and make sure I've got everyone. I'm swamped at work, both literally and figuratively. One of our water pipes froze and then decided to burst today triggering our sprinklers in the office. Fun.
James Wilder RB FSU going pro should interesting who is his agent. Kelvin Benjamin is leaning pro NOT declared yet
I'd be happy getting him purely for his explosive punt and kick returns, bye bye Thigpen and hello, finally, a consistently dangerous return guy.
Updated through Notre Dame RB George Atkinson, giving the list 73 names. I think that should be up-to-date through today.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/08/more-than-100-underclassmen-could-enter-the-draft/ So I haven't followed college football nearly as much as I have in the past due to being in the military now... by why such the influx of underclassmen declaring? Is it just one of those years, or is there actually a dynamic reason behind it?
No BIG contracts at the top of the draft, so the drop off is less stark between a top pick and a middle pick. Like the article lays out, its all about that 2nd contract. That, and some people are probably just naive (like Eric Page last year from Toledo) to their chances of being drafted (high), or too confident that they'll make it no matter where they get taken.
Timmy Jernigan is official http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2014/story/_/id/10268447/timmy-jernigan-florida-state-seminoles-leaving-nfl-draft
His father was one bad *** safety for the Raiders back in the 70s. Everyone remembers Jack Tatum, but Atkinson was just as much a hard hitting dirty mofo. They did some things to Lynn Swann....
Vic Beasley is really struggling in his decision to declare or stay. He badly wants to hit the NFL but he also badly wants to be a 1st rounder. He's understandably bummed b/c he was excitedly set on leaving, only to get a 2nd round grade back from the committee.
