Ok cause the thing I heard was WWE specifically made sure their contracts with syfy and usa both ran out at the same time, in case they could get this network....probably bs though

It's probably more for leverage in discussing their new contracts with those channels. It would be the death of the WWE if they took all their programing off cable and made it strictly a paying network, unless the Network channel came free as part of your cable companies TV package, for example how you get ESPN or USA or MTV.

From what I heard the WWE Network is going to be more like the MLB At Bat app where you pay for it and get content, it's not suppose to be like a regular channel where you have set schedules of what's going to be on. But then again who knows until tonight.

    Oh lame. Gotcha.

In other news.....Brock Lesnar starting a program with Big Show it seems? Kinda odd to have Brock come back to battle Big Show........again.....althought I guess he needs something to do with Orton/Cena being tied up.

Let me say this about raw and the world title. Man this program sucks. It just seems so boring. IMO Shield, Wyatts, Punk, Bryan, even the friggin Usos and Rhodes brothers have me more excited. Big E Vs Ryback setting up is awesome too. But when Orton talks to Cena or viceversa, it seems forced, and fake.

I just dont care that Orton is champion. I dont care if Cena beats him, or loses. Also, whats with the champ and challenger getting a few minutes to start the show, and not seeing either the rest of the night, I can see that on Smackdown, but not Raw.....found it real off.

Yeah I find it interesting that even though Orton/Cena should be the main focus the WWE has been ending RAW with Punk/Shield and before that Bryan/Wyatts. With all the guys that could be WWE champion (and make the the title interesting) they're continuing to give the fans the two most boring main eventers right now in Orton and Cena.

The Brock/Big Show thing is just giving Lesnar something to do and an opponent to beat until WM. They want to keep Brock strong to build to the Undertaker program, if that's still a go. I'll tell you what I'd love to see a Lesnar/Batista match at WM instead. That would be a pretty good brawling/power type match up.

If I was booking WM I'd go with Punk vs. Bryan for the WWE title, Cena vs. Undertaker and Brock vs. Batista as my top 3 matches and then fill in the rest from there.

    Remember.....the Archive...the Archive....

This "network" will have enough material to fill 24/7/365

Imagine..tuning in at 3pm every day to see "Florida Championship Wrestling with Gordon Solie" Or old NWA Ric Flair...or even some Lord Alfred Hayes and Gorilla Monsoon behind the mic!...the possibilities are endless.

Does anybody have the reason why Shawn Michaels never wrestled The Rock? Just occurred to me now when I was watching some Rock promos (research)

My main guess is that neither was really ever around each other enough (and wrestling) for it to happen, at least not properly.

As for the WWE Network, that library is MASSIVE. Vince has spent part of the last decade collecting up everyone's tapes. The amount of they have is incredible. The possibilities for what they can do are just about endless. It all depends on which direction they decide to take this Network, to be honest.

They just never logically had a reason to wrestle. Both were faces and heels at the same time and by the time HBK made his comeback Rock was on the way out.

And yes there is the rumor that HBK was rude to Rocky's family and Rock didn't want to wrestle him because or it or something like that.

Sounds like a great 30 minute filler show for the new WWE Network. "If They Wrestled..."

You take two wrestlers who never ran programs with each other, highlight them, give their stats over the package, interview their contemporaries about what made the great and how they would match up with the other.

Have them talk strategy while showing examples and voila....30 minutes of programming that can be done over and over with countless combos from different eras, feds, etc.

I also want to see behind the scenes specials. Like True Hollywood Stories. Can you imagine an hour long special on Jake The Snake, with footage from his entire career spliced throughout? I would tune in in a heartbeat.

Didn't see the announcement...does that mean you get live access to ppvs? Or days or weeks later? I would assume the latter right?

All the PPV will be live, then you have complete access to all the old ppvs, as well as Raw and Smackdown. Plus they are doing some original programming as well. NXT and Superstars will be on the Network as well.

It will launch on pretty much every platform, including ps3, Xbox, roku, etc.

If you watch wrestling at all this is a huge home run.

Obviously with this launch there is not a more consumer friendly business in this country atm. I quit watching wrestling over a decade ago. Since my sons "coming of age" we picked it up. Spent over a thousand watching ppvs since then, and scouring Netflix and YouTube looking back so he could relive the memories I have. Now the wwe throws all that experience into one nicely priced wrapped up package! Kudos Vince and company, truly fan and family friendly.

dude thats a deal in a half. I mean wow, just wow. my buddy and I were planning on getting RR and now we can get it and WM for $10 a month. I think the only Raw that would not be available is the Beniot tribute show

edit: it starts after Rumble which kinda sucks

The network seems great no doubt but I do wonder if the $9.99 per month will last or if it's just to give people a taste and then in a year or so they jack up the price. If you read the small print you have to give a 6 month commitment, you can't go month to month. Either way it's a a hell of a deal if you're planning on getting WM, this way you can sign up for the Network at the beginning of March and get every PPV until September and you'd basically be paying the same price, maybe cheaper and getting all the access to the old PPVs and TV shows.

This new Network sounds great though, you really can't say anything bad about it. Hell I'm already planning on which old PPVs I'll watch first.

Yeah good question. I'm sure the closer to the February launch date the more info we'll get but I think it would be silly of them not to offer year or multi-year subscriptions.

I just hope they keep the prices low and not get greedy and jack them up eventually.

So you could get this service and stream from your xbox 360 onto your tv? Not just exclusive to your laptop/tablet ?

Correct. I wish it would used for smart tvs as well, but I don't think it does.

And Ray, the 6 month subscription is to prevent people from signing up for a month, getting WM, binging on all the content and then dropping them. My guess is that eventually they will have a higher price point for shorter term subscriptions.

As for Chromecast, I don't know exactly how that works, but from what I do know, if you can get this network to work with it, it would be the best way to go.

Edit: select smart tvs will get the app in the summer.

Not yet for smart TVs but they said it is coming.

And yeah I realize they need "a catch" to prevent people for doing that or picking/choosing which months to buy like March for WM or August for SS.

RIP. Hope she left something in her will for the rubber hand child.

I have a LG smart TV, hope that happens soon, if not the xbox is fine. Thats pretty sweet about the 10$ a month subscription, gotta talk to the wife into doing it. We wanted to get rumble end of january too bad it starts after.

Where's what you do, you just tell her if you ordered Wrestle Mania in HD it would cost you less then if you got the 6 month subscription and really sell her on how you'll get all the PPVs in the 6 month time frame for free as well as every single PPV ever to watch anytime you want, original programing, etc. Really sell her on how you'll end up saving money in the long term while getting more bang for your buck. Then when the 6 month subscription ends repeat only using a new PPV like the Rumble.

It will work with Chromecast right away.

At the event where they made the announcement..they gave away "Apple TV" adapters (The very same USB looking thingy for Apple that works exactly like Chromecast) with the WWE logo on it. (WWE has a partnership with Apple)

SO yeah...I suggest..pickup a chromecast for $35 and you are set to watch this on any tv you got.

It seems that they ALSO gave away Chromecasts at the event with the WWE logo on it. So they asked you if you wanted a Apple TV or a Chromecast...

so yeah..it seems that you can start right away with this....

So go spend the $35 for the Chromecast....

I know I am late to this party, but the more research I do, the more I am loving this WWE deal. Www.gizmodo.com has a good article about how the WWE just showed everyone how the future of TV will look.

So here is the question...is this enough to convince me to dump Directv all together? I am pretty sure I can grab most of the shows I watch on hulu/netflix, and the shows on Showtime/HBO that I can't, I can always buy the blu-rays after and binge view.

The problem is that I am a displaced sports fan. A huge football (duh) and hockey fan who pays for the packages directv offers. Is there a decent solution to those two sports? Because if so, I am absolutely willing to drop directv all together and work off of my smart tv and Chromecast for the low, low, price of about $40/50 a month.

    What does everyone think?
