Assuming that they cut Matt Moore due to his cap number, which is nuts for a backup, then I hope that they'll bring in another vet backup. Who? No one could know right now. There will likely be a lot of guys in that mold available in March. I'd also like them to draft a QB in the later rounds.

I bet the Packers would have loved to have Matt Moore and his cap number.

He's signed through next season at 5.5 million. The team can save about 4.0 mil by releasing him.

They can save about 4 million and get a draft pick if they trade him.

Nobody is going to trade for him and have to pay that salary to a backup. Our only options here are to pay him, or cut him.

If he's sitting there when the Jets pick one spot ahead of you, I wouldn't be surprised if they took him. Woody Johnson loves the splashy names (see Tebow, Tim).

I think cutting Moore would be the best thing. Unfortunately, with all the other stuff we need and Tannehill being QB1 going forward, it's just too much.

Now, hoping to draft Manziel is just ridiculous. He's not going to drop to #19, period. I'd like to see us go to the free agent market for that. I don't really care who we get, I just hope for an experienced arm who can step in seamlessly if Tannehill is injured for an extended period of time.
