Shouldnt they hire a GM first then let the GM choose his OC?

    I hear they are interviewing OCs and GMs at the same time. Shouldnt they pick a GM first and let the GM pick a OC? Or is that Philbins job, to hire his coaching staff?

    I thought that Philbin had control over his coaching staff. If thats the case the GM wouldn't be picking the OC. It would be Philbin.

    HC's job to hire and fire coaching assistants, GM shouldn't be involved.

    It's Philbin's job. If a GM is hiring a coach that isn't a head coach is really suspicious and dysfunctional outside of rare circumstances.

    The GM is responsible for the players. The HC is responsible for the coaches.

    Which is why starting this year the wins and losses no longer go to the coach

    The NFL has decided it now follows the GM
