I want to get some of your opinion on the Dolphins' past draft. I know it's extremely early and unfair to determine whether the players you guys drafted were worth it or not. As a Jets fan, I feel like your guys have not contributed as much I thought they would. Just want your opinion the Dolphins' rookies.
Usually it's extremely early and unfair to Judge a draft class in its first season. For us it's impossible. None of them got any significant playing time, period. Jordan flashed his ability a few times. Huge pressure on flacco that forced a pick 6, covered gronkowski one on one, sacked cam newton once. But he still barely played. The two CBS were oft-injured early on and the surprising play of Nolan Carroll kept them off the field. I think jamar Taylor played one game. Will Davis only a few snaps. Dallas Thomas never played. Time will tell but in retrospect we obviously should have made that trade for Albert during the draft.
Well our first round pick from Oregon, Shutthe Effuptroll.....is a sleeper 2nd round pick Justkill Yourself, will contribute soon enough I believe, we just need the right coaching to come in and work with him. Our 3rd round pick Yourmother Sahoe will really shine in his second year, he jumps routes a lot but will get better. Our 4th round pick Dieina Fireplz wont cut it I feel Our 5th pick Yourgutis Fullofcum will surprise some people, just you watch! Our 6th round pick Jetshav Bigaids will faze out soon our 7th round pick, Yourfamily Deservestobepoorforever......was irrelevent, like you.
IN another thread I believe you discussed how much better the Jets draft was than the Dolphins. Take bait anyone?
I think the Dolphins draft was horrendous. However, that's my personal opinion. I'm clearly asking for YOUR opinion. Take the bait anyone?
Our top picks were either injured and/or had established starters in front of them. Here is the snap count of the 2013 rookies Dion Jordan - 330 Jamar Taylor - 42 Will Davis - 64 Dallas Thomas - 2 Jelani Jenkins - 123 Dion Sims - 279 Mike Gillesse - 9 Don jones - 0 (played special teams) (UDFA)Sam brenner -284
Dude, you can't give up on Dieina Fireplz so early. I still think he's going to turn into a stud for us.
You are not wrong in assuming they did not contribute as much as fans were hoping. Our kicker made some field goals, the #3 overall picked flashed, and the guy we took in the 7th round showed some promise on special teams, but other than that, bleh.
First of all, I think it's ridiculous to call anyone a bust after one season but let me present you this.. I present the 2013 Miami Dolphins Draft: DE Dion Jordan, first round, No. 3 overall - 26 tackles, two sacks CB Jamar Taylor, second round, No. 54 overall - 3 tackles OL Dallas Thomas, third round, No. 77 overall - No stats (2 Snaps Total) (Consider how bad that is, since the Dolphins lost two OL due to the hazing incident, and started 8 different OLmen this year) CB Will Davis, third round, 93 overall - 8 tackles LB Jelani Jenkins, fourth round, 104 overall - 17 tackles TE Dion Sims, fourth round, 106 overall - 6 receptions, 32 yards, one touchdown RB Mike Gillislee, fifth round, 164 overall - 6 carries, 21 yards K Caleb Sturgis, fifth round, 166 overall - Stats: 26-of-34 on field goals, 33-of-33 on extra points - Literally the only rookie who did anything for the Dolphins this year DB Don Jones, seventh round, 250 overall - 10 tackles, one tackle for loss
While we're on the subject of the draft. I present this bundle of joy: Your thoughts, Revis?
well if it's ridiculous after a year to call them anything but rookie years then there is no discussion really, you've ended your own thread..
You can't fully evaluate a draft after one year of course , however you can grade it for what it contributed that year. It wasn't like we could have used a boost from the draft class or anything. You better be rewarded if you red shirt a full draft class.
the jests are a fanbase that has 0 legs to stand on when criticizing a teams draft. when the commish reads the names on their draft cards, i imagine it is in all his power not to bust out laughing.
Back on the draft, we are pretty much pick middle round for every round. It will be another interesting offseason of speculation. I honestly am excited. Again.
I just don't want us to spend our time and resources and hone Dion into a better player than he already his, get him into pro-bowl shape and just to have some other team swoop in and steal him when his contract is up which is what usually happens.
