Anyone beating NE is the priority for me. I've been scared of their unbeaten prospects beginning with the opener against the Jets.

You don't want to lose the designation as ONLY unbeaten team in NFL history. It literally can stand for centuries if we get rid of this one annoying team. Otherwise, Rex Ryan may haunt me forever.

A draft pick is vague, uncertain that you're better off with the early slots. I remember posting prior to the '05 draft that I watched a draft analysis show and an analyst named Dave Te-Thomas showed amazing highlights of Merriman, and called him the best player in the draft and "the next Lawrence Taylor."

Yet Merriman would have been considered a reach at our #2 slot, or anywhere in the top ten.

1st overall pick. one win doesnt guarantee us wins over them for the next 10 years but players will such as possibly that number one pick.

BOTH......we win our 2nd game by beating the Pats and still keep the first pick.

  5. I could careless if beating the pats meant we dropped down to the #32 pick. This is our superbowl game. I hope we not only beat them, I hope we crush them. I want to see and hear all the little Patsy crybabies cry to the media, starting with the biggest baby of them all Tom Brady. I want the Dolphins to bust thier perfect season and I was actually rooting for the Bills to make the playoffs and hoping it would be them to knock them out of the playoffs.

I am so ready to see things not fall thier way for a change. BB and Brady are both way overrated and thier smug attitude hwas worn it's welcome out with me long ago. The only thing worse then a poor loser is a bad winner. That is what they are Bad winners and I hope a wildcard team knocks them out of post season play.

    #4?????

How is it even conceivable we can drop to 4th? Even if we win out, I dont see us worse than 2nd. jets beat us 2 times, they have the tie breaker.

Beat the absolute hell out of the Pats!!! There would be no greater satisfaction for me in this abysmal season. Besides, the 3 teams below us only need to win 1 of their last 2 for us to secure the #1 pick regardless if we win out or not.

But then we don't have the same value from #4 if we trade down.

This is like asking me if I want to have sex with Jessica Simpson later or if I want to have sex with her now.

    Let me further explain myself.

I was up in New Orleans for a week (to watch my FAU Owls beat Memphis in the New Orleans Bowl). Every freeking day on ESPN: Patriots, Patriots, Patriots. They are the only team in the NFL that gets their only section in ESPN's crawling text. What the hell.

I want to beat them down. I want ESPN to analyze every single reason why we beat them. Every catch, interception, big hit.... yeeeeeeeeeeesssss!!!!!!

So let me pose a question... (and I'm new to the board so forgive me if it's been discussed) suppose the Pats finish out the season 16-0 but get knocked out in the AFC championship, technically they will have exceeded 17-0 but not had an "undefeated" season, still as good as '72 in your eyes or no?

and as far as today goes, the answer to that couldn't be more obvious. I wouldn't care if we weren't even allowed to participate in the draft if it meant protecting the legacy! Especially in the wake of the 35th anniversary there is no team in the NFL I would hate to see do it again more than the Patriots. I can't wait to see Brady spend the game on his back.
