The ISG is taking the dismissal of their leader very hard.

I wish folks would just give their opinion on the situation, it's hard to follow all the sarcastic posts and word play..

LB, I don't know what ISG stands for, must have something to do with Ireland departure, and who's taking that hard?.

Y'all have lost me..just speak football.

One thing I really do not understand is why the local writers down there can't get their clicks and web traffic by painting the team from atleast a non biased light. One would almost think there is a personal vendetta they are holding on to.

Where I live you basically get an equal amount of St. Louis and Chicago fan base and media coverage and I can honestly say I have never seen any of the papers local guys go after their respective teams in the press like omarnando and company do.

Think about that. Beat writers for the lowly Chicago cubs do not **** all over that team like this and they have been irrelevant for decades. St. Louis Rams were one of the worst teams in the nfl for years and you wouldn't open the dispatch and see this type of crap.

    MY bad.

I just want to win Bro.

    We need consistency

I am hoping for some but the more time that goes along I get the impression that the leader (Ross) has no clue what it takes to build a winner.

Although I applaud Ross' willingness to look for help from experts it seems as if it is only meant to passify.

What I mean by that is we decided to stay the course with Ireland and Hired Philbin. We change everything up; Schemes, defense, offense etc

Then we give Ireland and Philbin really only one season to work together and try to make adjustments.

We crapped the bed in the last two games and we fire Ireland but keep Philbin. I am not saying it is all Philbins fault. But damn man where was the coaching?
If it was there I sure missed it.

Why bother if your only going to give them 1 season together.

I say one season because the first season was personal from Sparano. It's dysfunctional.

Forget about the office politics for a minute ...more on that later

Now Ross wants to bring in a new GM to work with Philbin. Ok now what? next year when we are 8-8 again we are going to do what? Fire Philbin and start all over again?

Who do we honestly think is going to come here, if in advance we are telling the whole world: Joe Philbin is here and you really are nothing more then a glorified Vice President of scouting with the name of GM. You have to work with him and you have no control over him. Who's going to want to do that?

Is Ross apparently that niave and ignorant?....apparently so

We can not keep on like this. This is crazy.

    We need to clean house.....EVERYONE

    start over

Get some big names - EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP.

Install a winning tradition, create a plan and stick with it

Stop the revolving door every 2 or 3 years.

I am beyond frustration with this guy (Ross)

Now we throw in the perception of the front office. Doesn't matter what reality is. Perception is everything. Anyone coming here is going to throw pause and wonder what's going on. Sure it's great when your being interviewed. Being in the office with a alleged back stabbing conniving ***** who has aligned herself with the HC will cause most of the most qualified candidates to run for the hills. If nothing else it creates problems. The only option I see at this point is for Ross to remove the problems. It is the only way we are going to get the people we need. I am not down on anyone but I want to win. I am tired of waiting and like project players I am tired of project coaches including Philbin. The last two games speak volumes to me.

Ross must see something we are not seeing because he seems to be happy with what Philbin has put on the field. I say that because he's still here. It seems to me any GM we bring in is going to have a learning curve. Not only on staff but personal. So if Philbin is going to call most of the shots why not just make him the GM or promote Gaine.

Because it's more of the same old same old and Ross knows the fans will go crazy

It is depressing and infuriating at the same time to me. 41 years we have been waiting for a super-bowl. I am tired of waiting.

Ross will passify us by getting rid of Ireland. The reality is it is just cosmetic and we will be in the same boat 2, 3 4 years from now.

I dunno...we had some big names in here before, namely the Whale (Tuna) and you see what good that did...

Let it play out before going over the edge...you can't change anything anyway.

I think had Wayne not sold the team we would be in a totally different position.

Parcells probably would have stayed had Ross not entered the picture.

If memory serves me correct, The big reason Parcells even considered it was because of WHO are owner was.

    Wayne was a good dude!!

Would give anything for that 4th rated offensive line to

so to summarize, you feel there was equal responsibility for the collapse..

I too have almost lost faith in whats happeneing with our headcoach, my instinct when he first got here was not that good, I feel confident that he was directly responsible for wanting the release of the whole leadership council, and Brandon marshall, also the way we finished the season has not won me over in any dept in terms of the coaching\leadership of this team, something went wrong inside, and im absolutely livid how they constructed gameplans considering the qbs and olines strengths and weaknesses.

im left with hope, hope that he's new to the head coaching stuff, I feel like he's learning as he goes, but I cant get a grasp on his ceiling..7 and 9 then 8 and 8 is not bad for a first time head coach so im conflicted on whether its fair to not let him finish out the contract.

I would have felt the same way about Philbin had the team not **** the bed like they did the last 2 games. I question this office crap and why did this team crap the bed. Was it a Coup, (removal of Ireland) because if it was Philbin and Apont need their pink slip.

Philbin had input into off season changes and people brought in. Now we are finding out that the contracts given to Ellerbe and Wheeeler are going to screw us going forward. So since Aponte is the contract guru that's on her.

Remember now. Ireland was going to be retained by Ross. Not sure how much power was going to be stripped, but it was enough that Ireland decided to leave on his terms. So I question Ross' real intent and Ross' real acceptance of mediocrity. Keeping Philbin and try to fill the hole with someone who will not have normal control that a GM has does not surprise me. Well that's on the surface anyway, we don't really know for sure. All we know is he was stripping Ireland's power. Enough power that Ireland quit. I would imagine it's the same amount of power that the new GM would have. So if the GM has very little power, why even hire a GM?

Just get on with it and promote Brian Gaine from within. Seems like the logical do nothing cosmetic change. Blame it on the OC and move on.

I think we can agree that there are so many questions as far as the head coach goes and why his team collapsed..I'm pissed off, your pissed off, and I don't see the intangibles in him to bring the team together, and we don't have any real answers from the coaches as to why the team collapsed..all I can do is hope his morals and values as a man pays off in the long run.

We'll see what happens with the GM search, if it's an inspiring hire, then Philbin is on a half a year deal..if he's got the goods the team will show it, if he doesn't they won't.

This team has cleaned house numerous times over the years and it never works, because you cannot accurately diagnose a problem when you start from scratch every damn time.

Think about it. If every thing worked like that you'd have to throw out your car if something wasn't working properly.

It changes daily. Ireland deserves to stay, to "Ross getting rid of Ireland to pacify us", to Ireland resigned.

For me I'm going with Socks all the way, its a wild ride and certainly not for the sane.

This is guaranteed to be fun.

Could you tell me your explanation for the last two games..?

Could you tell me why Sherman's gameplans were ok'd by the head coach?

    Ha ha

Ireland should have stayed with Philbin and company. I would have even given Sherman another year.

I would have been much happier with that and the prospect of building the line.

We beat some damn good teams this year which indicates to me that we do have talent on this roster

I would have much rather had that then to try and piece together what has now become a cluster ****

All we have done is make things infinitely harder and increased our chances of sucking

I think there's a number of reasons the last 2 games played out like they did. I think that before I talk about that I explain that not all good coaches can adapt to their own players. I think a good coach can either adapt their own players or adapt to their opponents. Shula & Belichick can adapt to their players. Noll and Walsh can adapt to their opponents. The great ones that can adapt to their players are rare. Think about it, that means you have no system at all. There are not many coaches that can do that. Guys that adapt to their opponents have to have the players they need to complete their toolbox. I don't think Philbin has all the tools in his box to complete his plan.

I think that, more than anything, is why we've been so good AND so bad. The times we're good its because we have the tools to complete the plan properly based on the opponent.

It's the daily Miami sports writer's "the sky is falling, everything sucks and will always suck" article. Yes, no GM wants to be tied to a HC. Some candidate is going to say no because of Philbin. There's 32 GM jobs in the NFL. Miami is one of them. Despite what the Miami media is telling us, someone does want this job and doesn't care who the HC is because he'll be THE GM OF A FREAKIN NFL FRANCHISE. I used to love reading the Miami papers, but I feel I could get better, more informed and less biased reporting from TMZ.
