Mike Wallace obviously has a high number, but it's hard to swallow that Ellerbe and Wheeler are #'s 2 and 4 on the list, combining for about 14 million wasted dollars. Hartline is pretty good, but that's a high number for him imo. Not to reignite the same old argument, but Wallace would have been far more worth his high salary this year if Tannehill was even average at hitting him deep- he wasn't. Wallace got open deep plenty, a huge change from the team in previous years. Time for those two to start connecting, asap.
At least Wallace somewhat deserved his paycheck this year and is somewhat likeable....Ellerbe and Wheeler so far are the bozos of the defensive squad.
Wallace's number goes down a lot after next season. Don't let the 17 mil number freak you out. I think that it was structured that way to leave space to resign Pouncy and/or extend Tannehill before the 2015 season.
Wallace is a crucial weapon to the offense and in reality deserved to have much better numbers this year if Tannehill was able to deliver the right passes. He consistently did his job, which is to get open. His only gaffe really was the Carolina drop. Ellerbe and Wheeler are tough pills to swallow, but I think Ellerbe has potential. Matt Moore is overpaid and we should restructure if possible or look for a cheaper option.
I wish Mike Wallace would give me $1,000 for my film I'm trying to direct. Thats literally like one cent for him.
