    Here and there
Very strange, I mean I have NEVER heard of a HC OC DC GM VPFO ect. EVER praise the team they just signed with to the media. It's weird that a new coach, player exce. ect. would come in and do that and not say "yes this team is a mess, and needs my help" Yes thats why I signed here because its a 2 star organization and i can turn it around"

Yes because he said its a 5 star organization means all others arent...or is it your basic standard awnser?

And....again.....where does anyone get that New York is a much stabler organization?

Coughlin is GONE if the miss the playoffs again.

"Giants co-owner John Mara told the 67-year-old Coughlin on Monday morning that he wants him to return for an 11th season with the team that he led to Super Bowl titles in 2008 and 2012 despite a disappointing 7-9 record."

That says...and 11th season. And thats different then Philbins situation how?

My dear old dad always told me that not every girl I asked to the dance was going to say yes, but chances were that I was going to have a lot more fun with the ones who did.

    Patience.

The douchebags of your generation make me long wistfully for the days of mandatory military conscription.

    Not you, of course.

He was relieved of his duties as GM and in the same breath offered another job in the front office. Call it what you want. He did not leave the GM position of his own accord. I know what that sounds like to me, in so many words.

He was most likely offered the VP of player personal we keep hearing about

    I'd baulk to.

Bet he is getting paid his full contract

Don't know enough about their situation to speak intelligently. Did he loose anyone. Something must of changed, or did the game just pass him by?

Technically, Ireland was fired as GM. He was offered a different, unknown, title, and turned it down. Leaving his GM job not of his own choosing, is technically being fired. No matter what anyone wants to call it.

They had alot of injuries on their offensive line....I think its kind of combination of both. C oughlins a good coach..dont get me wrong...but..at 68..and miss in another year in the playoffs..Tom will be given the chance to retire with honors.

The way it was reported was that he and the team had "reached agreement on a mutual parting," or something to that effect. I believe the team bought him out of his full contract.

Giants are not going to fire Coughlin, their front office love that guy, they have 2 Super Bowl trophies as reasons to keep him. But Ben McAdoo is setting himself up for when Coughlin retires which is likely after his contract expires. Guy is up there in age.

I think my Generation is pretty good. Better than the whiny lazy self entitled generation after us and the hippie hypocrites of the baby boomers who I can't wait to die so we can FINALLY fix all the problems they are creating.

kyle shanahan should be first choice anyways. hopefully philbin does what he does best, stay the hell out of his assistants' way and let kyle get this offense on track by implementing the read option to go along with the west coast offense.

Don't worry, everything is fine. It's just the media being liars or trying to create stories.

Nothing. Just expecting the worst. Probably end up being a promotion for O'Keefe, so he can implement the South Florida version of the vaunted Iowa offense.

I think we have to step back from the speculation that is occurring. For my money, if it doesn't come from Jeff Darlington, I don't give it any stock. The remainder are a bunch of "League Source" quoting buffoons.

We know that Philbin has great faith in his assistants which is at times to his detriment. I think every candidate is being weighed against the in house candidate (O'Keefe) and Philbin may just determine he's the guy for the job.

As for the negative vibe surrounding the Fins, it appears as if Ireland was a cancer in the workplace. Rooting out the cancer isn't enough for things to go back to normal. Normally it takes 12-18 months until the impact of the workplace cancer is truly gone.

Prefer Kubiak or Shanahan anyway. Kubiak actually makes most sense as he's a strong candidate for HC if Philbin gets canned after next season. And both have experience at QB Coach IIRC.
