If it is an act, why do a significant percentage of regular posters go into an antichrist furry when a word, or phrase, or even an innuendo referring to faith, scriptures, prayer, or christianity is mentioned in context with a topic?

If Lazor is on record as saying he lives life based on his prayer life, then it is a part of his identity and is going to affect how he does everything related to his duties as OC.

What should be stopped, are the rancorous and prejudicial posts that come out every time there is the slightest mention of the
    unmentionable.

I don't feel the slightest bit persecuted for my beliefs on this forum so the post about me personally complaining about being mistreated or something is laughable.

The fact that references to previously stated subjects are treated with virulence, hostility, prejudice, and intolerance are explicitly displayed for anyone who can read; and that is not an act, it is a reprehensible attack on free speech.

I'm not making any attempt to somehow advocate for Lazor's world view or anybody else's, but I will draw attention to posts like the one posted yesterday where some guy was saying you couldn't mention a players faith as part of a post on a thread. The post was emphatic and hostile. Fine, he has a right to his opinion.

It is the obsession some have to, squelch, certain speech, that I DO have a problem with.

In keeping with that thought, IMO, again IMO, and do I have a right to that; or don't I?? I think Lazor basing his life on prayer will help him be a better football coach, and I am glad he is the kind of guy the Miami staffer said he was.

He went from the worst year of his career in 2012 to the best year of his career this year. 700 yards to over 1,300 and 2 TD's to 9. I think Kelly's offense had an impact.

What people react to is the pretense that "it is an antichrist furry" I assume you meant fury. Or that it's virulent or hostile. None of that occurred. You stated that it was your opinion that faith made a player one of better character. Having such an opinion is your right. Other posters disagreed. They didn't attack you or the player's faith. They just stated that they didn't agree. That was their right. All your allegations of prejudice and intolerance are baseless.

His tweet is not specific. Reporters use Twitter to pass along rumor not facts. The twitter account is theirs and not the newspaper/tv station/etc., because of that they don't need verified sources. Armando could be the one telling Marvez that for all we know.

The only one looking to quell speech is you. You have a right to say what you want about faith and others have the right to say what they want about your stance. The bigger question is why you feel the need to tack yourself on the cross as if you're some martyr.

You are taking things in ways they were never meant. That is why I call it an act. In your post that sparked this, it started with my reply that I agreed on all your points except one.

You ran with that like you were being oppressed. Which is sad...because I generally don't agree with you, it was refreshing to agree with you for once. Yet you ran with this narrative.

What I said is that his quarterback don't really throw interceptions. Someone brought up the Foles streak this year, and it looks to be a trend:

I think it's pretty indicative of good work.

Indeed, what QBs has he developed?

And, as far as Virginia football, their scoring in 2009 was 26.3 / game. The next three years with Lazor, they went: 28, 23, 28. Hardly from the cellar to one of the better ones. The year after Lazor left, they averaged 33 / game.

The QB play under Lazor at UVA was mediocre, at best (virtually equal on TDs vs INTs, and none over 20 TDs - that's in college!). Then he had the Redskins and Seattle - mediocre QBs who played mediocre football (even Hasselback was average those years). There really is no great track record of development at all until last year. Period. And, was that his development or Kelly's or Shurmer's?

My suspicion is a) he has experience under Holmgren with the Green Bay version of the WCO and so he will fit with Philbin and have some continuity - perhaps even with terminology - with the previous system; b) he also has some experience with Kelly's / Shurmer's offense in Philadelphia and they are hoping he'll bring some experience with him from that time last year and add only - at best - a few wrinkles into the offense.

I don't think it means the offense will be the same as last year - much of the problem last year was, imo, the failure to make adjustments and become less predictable.

Foles did do well - but was that Kelly or Shurmer or Lazor? Probably all three.

Another question is - how much can you really know of an offense in one year as the QB coach? For Kelly, it's in his bones.

On the positive side, he is young and probably has a lot more energy and is likely a quicker thinker than Sherman.

But, in the final analysis, no one on here has any idea how good a coach he really is or will be. We have no idea how well he'll do with this offense. I am hopeful that he'll bring more ingenuity; become a better play caller; and teach Tannehill more effectively. But, what of the current OL coach and QB coach? Will they pan out?

As usual, just have to wait and see.

Love the hire. I personally see him doing great things for Tannehill. Only thing I am concerned about is how the Playcalling/Gameplanning will go down as he has little experience in either, Philbin also has little/no experience play calling. I am confident they will figure it out and come up with something quite exciting.

Friend, I can feel the hostility in your post. I do not post often but I think you are slightly misguided here and just wanted to offer an alternative view.

Surely an intelligent person such as yourself can see that perhaps any "intolerance" for a post regarding religious beliefs could be because there are specific forums for religious beliefs. It has nothing to do with football. Nothing to do with our Dolphins. No, he will not pray and then design a play because god told him to, or tell Tannehill to bomb it deep because of religious inspiration...and if you believe he will, that's fine! Take the conversation to the "Religion and Spirituality" section of this very webpage and many will have a pleasant conversation about how they probably agree with you!

Listen, Alex Marvez saying someone tells him something, is the same thing as you implying he knows nothing.
You're suggesting that reporters, like Marvez in this instance, are just passing along rumors. That's not a fact. That's simply you assuming, speculating, conjuring, etc.
And that's fine. You can choose to believe he's simply lying his *** off.
However, Jim Turner still has a job.
Joe Philbin didn't want to fire Mike Sherman and every action of his suggests he feels our issues are talent/personnel related. The teams moves suggest that too.
So, with all of that knowledge and information, along with this tweet, I'm going to side with Marvez and believe it's true.

My hope? The Ted Wells investigation will sink Turner and cause a change.
Again, my thoughts on Turner are still the same whether you believe the tweet to be junk or not.

Also, question for everyone. If Bill Lazor is saddled with these assistants, do we really think much will change on the offense? I mean honestly. It's clear Philbin wants it done his way. I just think Lazor will simply run the same offense Philbin wants, rather than actually instituting any concepts/principles he learned from the Coryell & Kelly offenses/tempo.

I actually like the Bill Lazor hiring. I think he has some talent, especially working with the QB. I just think, at this point, without letting him hire his own team, or choose the guys he wants, we're setting him up for failure.

Hopefully, you're right Fin D, and Marvez is BS'ing.

When Nick Foles and the Eagles’ other signal-callers take a seat Tuesday morning inside the quarterbacks meeting room at the NovaCare Complex, they are handed a copy of Bill Lazor’s game report.

The document contains play-by-play grades broken down by category: accuracy, decision-making, pre-snap checks, footwork, carrying out fakes on run plays and so on. Some plays have questions next to them because even for a quarterbacks coach who knows the calls and has reviewed the coverages, there are times when he’s not sure exactly what happened.
“I question, ‘Why did you do it this way?’ ” Lazor said. “Because it’s not always just a clear-cut answer. So they have that in front of them as they start watching the game.

    My hopes?

    1. We don't need to run the eagles offense, but picking up the ****ing pace would do wonders IMO. this is my #1 hope for Lazor.
    2. Guts. Kelly goes for it on 4th down a lot. I hope Lazor can convince Philbin to let him do the same.
    3. Deep ball. Foles was obviously pretty good at it, but Jackson was a huge part of that. Wallace needs to emulate jackson and tanny needs to emulate foles.

The eagles did a lot of things that the NFL has never seen before this season. Im jealous of Kelly's forward thinking mentality. If Kelly sustains this success i wouldn't doubt a potential "Moneyball" type story being made of his endeavors. it's been said that Lazor thinks like Kelly, so let's hope.

 Yeah ok. Is everything that comes out of your mouth a pile of sh*t-on-everything garbage?

Jackson had 1561 yards, 6 TD, and 69 First Downs the previous 2 seasons COMBINED.
He had 1332 yards, 9 TDs, and 60 First Downs this year alone.
It was markedly his best season, with career highs in receptions, yards, TDs, first downs, and catch%.

Desean thrived because he had the right coach and QB. 2014 Nick Foles is lite years better than anything else he has ever had.

WRs need to do more than just get open to be considered successful in the NFL, you need the right ingredients.

I actually think Philbin prefers to go for it on 4th and 1 most of the time. He even hinted at it not too long ago. The problem was our short yardage run game was awful. And that's putting it lightly.

I completely agree with you in hoping we can run more of a hurry up offense. I think it's another thing Philbin wanted to do but couldn't because the offense wasn't efficient enough. You can't run a hurry up offense when you're struggling to score points because you'll kill your defense.

Maybe I'm hopelessly optimistic, but with Philbin, Lazor, Tannehill in his 3rd year, Wallace in his 2nd, Hartline, Clay and Miller among others, I expect our offense to be MUCH better next season if we can just improve the offensive line. If we do I'd expect to see more of a hurry up offense at times.

I think he meant fans won't notice a receiver if he gets open every play, he needs a QB to find him and deliver in order to gain recognition.

No, you are being dishonest about the content of the posts, as I'm sure you are perfectly aware of. Don't care. What I do care about are the surreptitious attempts to control the content of what people post.

The posts in question remain on record and are right there in black and white for anyone who wants to review them. I don't have time to go back and quote them, and it won't be necessary because the matter will reemerge, and it won't have anything to do with anything I post.

I don't know, I guess maybe you didn't really read them in the first place. That might be worse.

    I'll reword it...

A WR can NOT JUST GET OPEN to be considered successful in the NFL. (By most fans standards)

Many people get their information from obscured "stat sites" and ignore variables. Here is a good example........Mike Wallace.

I included the percentages as well. :wink2:

You act like Jackson not missing 9 games in 5 years would've closed the gap to where the production differences would become negligible.
Here, just to humor you I'll extrapolate his stats as if he never missed a game.
