Lauren Tannehill and Katherine Webb would be hot hanging out together in a hot tub. Otherwise no thanks.
Tajh Boyd would be an ideal system fit with Lazor coming over from Philly. If he's there in the 4th or if we trade back our 1st for an extra 3rd, I'd pull the string. Gotta have a good backup in this system or you could be in trouble. Plus it can provide future trade value.
Keep in mind...we never really saw Devlin with the starting unit. He knows the offense very well as well.
Yes, yes he was. The stats even prove it. Wait lemme guess, TDs/completions/percentages/yards/qb rating mean nothing to you...right?
Devlin crushed Moore in preseason according to the stats. Devlin is better suited to this offense, then Moore is.
Really? Sigh. Here, let me hold your hand: http://www.nfl.com/stats/player?seasonId=2013&seasonType=PRE&Submit=Go I know its tough to find NFL stats on the web and everything. But the above obscure site called, NFL.com, should help you. Keep it between us, I wouldn't want this site getting out.
When you look at the group of losers that Devlin is lumped in with there is no doubting that preseason stats mean nothing.
Its like talking to a wall with emotional issues. He's not "lumped" in with anyone. Its the numbers that represent all the work he and ALL the other QBs did. At this point its become clear you should just do us all a solid and start your posts with, "I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm just angry...."
So you don't believe that hurts his numbers as much as helped? I've actually taken time to watch his college tape and development as a pro. I have no doubt he will be at least a solid back up.
I'm saying look at the other QB's that put up similar stats in preseason...better yet don't because those names, which features the immortal Matt Simms, will make you throw up.
Devlin had twice the playing time that Moore did. This is a moot point because they both suck and they'll both be gone.
But what does one have to do with the other? So..if you put up good stats in the preseason..and some other journeyman puts up good stats..his journeyman status means your good stats at pretty much bunk? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Ok...but..I still am not getting your reasoning. Devlin's stats aren't meaningless because other less regarded QBs had good numbers as well. Now if you want to argue his stats are inflated because he played against 2 and 3 string defense..then that makes more sense Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
That's what I'm saying. Matt Simms put up good numbers for Christ's sake. This is Cleo Lemon Syndrome all over again, people always love the third string water boy because his preseason stats are almost always inflated.
Nobody is saying they love Pat D evlin. They are saying keeping Devlin and taking another Qb to develop is more attractive then keeping Moore. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Yes and I'm saying that's ridiculous when you consider that Philbin is on the hot seat and if Tannehill gets hurt he's got nothing but an untested and undrafted free agent backup that has done nothing in Devlin. You need a veteran backup in a situation like this in case everything goes to hell.
Honestly, having an OC with a track record like ours has I'd be fine with him basically picking out a developmental Qb in the 4th round on, its not a bad idea at all. Sure I'd love to come away from the draft with a bunch of good young players at need positions but really developing a Starting and Backup Qb is essential in today's NFL. Look at Green Bay and a few other teams that had long periods without their starters, sometimes you need a guy that can hold the fort. And having a guy that potentially could net you a good draft is a plus as well. I don't think we need anyone to challenge Tannehill, thats kind of stupid and unproductive but having a guy being groomed as a long term starter project is always smart IMHO. Honestly I'm for taking a Qb in just about every draft until you are stockpiled, it never hurts and the risk vs. reward is worth it.
For me its not that he needs to be. Its just that it can never hurt to have some competition. Im fully behind Tanny as our QB.
I like Devlin because his college tape shows him repeatedly hitting receivers in the hands, in stride, and making good reads. I could easily say you dislike him because of Cleo Lemon syndrome. Thinking a player sucks because of his draft status and depth chart position. When in reality some players just need ttime to grow. To say he can be a good backup is not outlandish. If you want a superstar waiting in yhe wings as a backup that is most likely not happening. I dont look at most stats by the way. They are mainly useless and don't take into account the scenario involved. I can onlg make a determination on objective observations. So looking ay third stringer stats is useless, I never liked Devlin due to stats anyway.
How do think veteran QBs become veterans? Are they born that way? Unless you mean a guy who is a failed starter. In that case I dobt see how it is any better.
