With the endless crop of crappy QBs we've had in the last decade plus, I don't understand how any Dolphins fan isn't excited about Ryan. Look at the numbers he put up in his second season with no help around him. It's very encouraging.
i think the receiving corps is missing a seam busting tight end to go a long with clay. as well as a big tall physical receiver that is a huge red zone threat that can jump and go after 50/50 type balls and bring them down.
well then why is josh mccown and jay cutler on the list. foles had more snaps and better stats than both.
I'd guess because more of their yardage comes from the ball in the air and not YAC. PFF tries to normalize the effect of YAC by giving them points for throwing an accurate pass and allowing them to get YAC, but not actually using the YAC. Only ~35% of Cutlers yards came from YAC. 45% for McCown. Foles' is close to 50%. It's also worth noting that both Cutler and McCown are in the top 10 in completion percentage while under pressure, whereas Foles is 18th. Foles also had more time on average to throw than anyone in the NFL, with 2.82 seconds to pass attempt. Just a guess.
I would love a big receiver or TE as another target. Pretty low priority unfortunately. Wow, imagine if Tanny had time like that.
I don't think it should be a low priority. I think they want a TE to pair with Clay. And I think they want to add a redzone target. As for RT's ranking, it always comes down to what you value in a QB. IMO decision-making and accuracy are 1 and 1a. After that you can include mobility, pocket awareness, leadership and arm strength in whatever order you desire. RT's skill set is extremely high in all the categories except pocket awareness. And in my experience pocket awareness is one of those that improves with experience. For that reason I rate RT as one of the best young prospects in the league. I probably wouldn't rate his performance this year as high as #7, but I'd probably have him between 10 and 15 by the end of the season. My ranking would consider his OL and coaching.
