I am pretty shocked by this. Just behind Aaron Rodgers. Phin fans stand up! http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/201...-players-rank-nfl-top-10-best-selling-jerseys
I was shocked when I saw that too. I'm sure the logo and uniform switch played a part, but still, way to go! Shows the Fins can be popular when we have a decent offensive player to rally around.
I always find jersey sales to be such a strange statistic. I'm never really sure what sales numbers are supposed to imply about the player. In my opinion the largest factor in this boost is simply the result of Dolphins fans saying to themselves "Well, they're clearly going to be keeping Tannehill on the team for a long time, so he's a safe bet to spend $200 on." It's simply been a while since the franchise had a face, outside of the Kraken, so I think people are just striking while the iron is hot.
It seems there's no bit of positive info, no matter how insignificant, that you won't find a way to **** on.....
I can't believe we're arguing about this, but I'll bite. What was Tanny last year? 7 of the top 10 are QBs. We changed logos and our QB got into the top 10. It's not all that surprising.
And out of 32 QBs, hes one of the top 10 in sales. Its not ALL the logo. You're such a negative nancy.
I said nothing negative about Tannehill or the people buying his jersey. If he's top 10 again next year, then yes, we can say that he has reached some level of surprising popularity
Didn't you hear? You have to buy another one next year before we can say you meant to buy the first one because it was Tannehill and not the logo....
I'm pretty sure Tannehill was surprisingly high in jersey sales last year, too, for a rookie QB on a mediocre team. I'm not going to look it up, but I do recall posts here at the site on jersey sales and Tannehill.
It's not that your wrong, it's that some of us don't naturally hate everything in life and just want to be fans of this football team and its players. I like Ryan tannehill. I'm happy for him and this team to have one of the top selling jerseys. Your point may be valid but we have soooo many of you negative nancies that its just overwhelming these days. I ask you, who cares that we got a new logo? Would it ****ing kill some of you to just say"right on, go fins!" Every once and awhile? ****.
Before I made the post I saw a top 15 list from last year and he wasn't on it. I didn't dig deeper to see what his actual rank was.
This. People seem to forget the Dolphins are one of the most popular teams in the country. It's obvious at every road game too when there are always thousands of Dolphins fans in attendance. I went to Baltimore in 2010 and even in my hotel there were a ton of other Dolphins fans there.
Yeah, sorry that some of us actually like and enjoy seeing positive things about our team. What were we thinking?!?!
That's because the **** and maggot crowd can't help from taking even the most insignificant positive event and furiously rage ****ing it with their hate boners. All they do is panic and ***** after every single report whether its true or false, positive or negative. They believe every story even if that story was just contradicted by the last story and the story that came after it and then they'll turn around and believe all three. Its stupid.
I travelled from England to see the chargers & panthers game and got my tannehill jersey, big international fan base and the QB is always the best well known player
What if it did kill him? What then? You'll be in court for driving a man to his death. Big picture man, big picture.
Hell yeah man. Now that's some dedication. Lol and I have friends who won't go with me to games even though we live 45 mins away.
Yeah, it seems like I was wrong about last year. This article was jersey sales going into training camp this year, I believe, and he was around # 7 on this list. That's probably the time frame I'm remembering rather than last year. This article says Tannehill wasn't in the Top 25 in 2012. After Free Agency and the Mike Wallace deal, it looks like Tannehill jersey sales spiked.
I was at the pittsburgh game this year. Father in law is a huge steelers fan and he couldn't believe our presence at heinz field
My brother is a die hard Steelers fan and we had planned on going to the game too but I just didn't have the money for it. I wish I had though because it was one of the more epic Dolphins games I'd ever seen. Also, after we beat the Jets, the local radio guys were going on and on about our presence at MetLife and how they couldn't believe how many Dolphins fans were there and how loud they were. They said it sounded like a Dolphins home game.
if I lived anywhere near Miami I'd be at every sports event possible never mind 45 minutes from sun life! Best 10 days of my life
i bought a new logo authentic Tannehill right before we lost to buffalo and NYJ. I'm cursed. Sorry fellas
It's interesting to say the least. Almost insignificant, but interesting. Of the 10 all are media darlings except Tannehill.
