I thought he should also have hands for catchingthe ball.

I love his confidence but its the coaches job to convince him that he cant blame others as the reason he didnt catch that many TDs until he has first done everything HE needs to do to improve.. Such as compete harder for imperfectly thrown balls, spend more time outside practice than any other lower paid receiver working with Tannehill on their deep ball, dedicating himself to running consistent routes. In short, be a god damned professional.

15-20 is obviously ridiculous that would have been the greatest season by a WR ever or close to it, he's not Jerry Rice or Randy Moss. He certainly should have had 5 more though, Tannehill struggled with the long ball, no doubt about it. I don't really like him calling out the Qb like this and he does overlook his lack of concentration on short passes and some obvious drops that were inexcusable on his part. Hard to believe this guy is a "Philbin" guy.

He should probably try a little bit harder, if he thinks that is the case.

Actually if every single throw were on the money, he's about right. The thing is noone can expect every throw to be perfect.

Nice to see his fire burning in late January when a lot of guys are vacationing or shooting rifles.

Getting this problem fixed will be HUGE.

This is the case for him AND RT.

Take a month off then I want these guys to be inseparable, Chad Johnson borderline stalked Carson Palmer when they were together. He should be so far up Tannys arse this offseason that they are BOTH inside Lauren.

We could have had a few more, if he attacked the ****ing ball in the air.

    Did I say that?

A lot of it -was- Tannehills fault. A lot of it was also Wallace.

My point was that he was open enough for that sure. However in a realistic world you'd expect maybe 5-7 more.

Edit: Sorry I realized you meant except. Disregard the first part.

He is right though. You can't press him without help over the top. If you do, and the QB recognizes it and has time to get him the ball, it should be six most of the times. See Brady and Moss.

I hate what he said. What a blow hard. He's being modest? I wish I liked him more.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you....................

And I am being sincere. Wish he had a set of balls like Clayton had; the ball was in the air it belonged to him.

Filmwork and projexted completion rates suggest he blew 2 td's..and Tanny blew 4 or 5.

He is way off and a bit full of crap.

Why take aim at the guy consistently open deep, and not the guy missing him??

You know earlier in the offseason publicly said he left plays on the field by not attacking the ball, and it is his goal to improve on that this offseason.

which is why an extra 5-6 is much more reasonable.

I think what he said makes 100% sense if you replace the word should with the word could. As in all of those plays COULD have been touchdowns that changed games.

In another sense he is right though. With 5-6 more at the right time we are a 10-12 win team.

agree 100%. For me though it's hard to put that squarely on Tannehill considering Zac Taylor and Some Other Guy were responsible for developing him. If his coaching gets up to snuff, as it should with the addition of Lazor, and he's still missing those deep throws at an alarming rate, then I'll start isolating Tannehill specifically.

Meanwhile the guy responsible for developing Andrew Luck first became a QB coach in 1980; Russell Wilson's QB coach has been doing it in the NFL since 1997; Kaepernick's guy became a QB coach in 1990..... and then along comes Tannehill's QB coach, a guy who previously was a fuggin assistant at Texas A&M and has never coached the position on any level.

I guess attitude. Tanny takes total responsibility for his mistakes, even problems that aren't his. Mike just trots out and says, "Hey man, get me the ball and I'll catch a bunch of TD's." He put himself out there, I responded. And I am glad and hopeful that he wants to improve, but his being passive catching the ball was on more plays than just missed deep balls. In his defense, I felt like he was a little more aggressive in the 2nd half of the season.

So being right makes it okay to throw a teammate under the bus?

Wallace has taken responsibility more than once, and IMO has expressed a STRONG desire to remedy these issues.

Mike will always get the stones thrown at him though, he is the "overpaid athlete" and Tannehill is the savior/golden boy.

They both need to do whatever it takes to improve this offseason or Mike could be cut and Ryan could lose his job.
