Yeah, let's give credence to this nonsense source as opposed to what Ross has said repeatedly.

I look up and down those drafts and I see a lot of solid players, and very few total busts in the first four rounds. Whether he had a lot to do with that is of course up for speculation, but how anyone could think that those drafts suck confuses me.

Actually from all accounts he wasn't the first choice, or the second, or the third, .............. but that's what you get when you don't know what the hell your doing running an NFL team as a new owner. I agree with others though, I can't bash him until he has a chance to prove himself. It's pretty lame when top GM talent picks lower positions with other teams (like the Browns) over Miami's top personnel spot.

Also..Hickey will be drafting players to fit Philbins vision. Who knows how that dynamic worked in Tampa. Thats why its hard to really judge one way or the other. He has a ton of experience in the draft...hes young (43)..so...all we can do is hope.

    What's highlighted is the key.
I see some people calling out others as negative and knee jerk in reacting to this hire.
I would agree if Hickey was clearly one of the options the Dolphins had highlighted as a top choice.
That said, by all accounts he wasn't and the Phins were passed over by their top targets like a schoolyard nerd being picked dead last for a pickup game of sandlot football.
To ignore that fact and not seeing it as a problem would be folly.

Hickey could turn out good and I damn sure hope he does, but there are valid concerns because of the circumstances surrounding the hire.

This guy could be Richard Sherman...or he could be the rest of the ****ty fifth round players around Richard Sherman. Odds are, he's not Richard Sherman. Until we see what he can do, we can't say too much more.

This wasn't a bad hire. Anyone here can mark my words if you want. Hickey is a team player and is a collaborator. Having that with Philbin will help this franchise. Its not a bad hire. There is a reason Hickey lasted 18 years in TB - because he can adapt.

Everyone wanted some powerful name but that could have destroyed our team just as much for the next 10 years. Imagine if we brought in Farmer or Dawson and allowed them to hit the reset button. Thats literally wasting another 5-8 years if it doesn't pan out right. With the Hickey hire, he's onboard with the vision and long term Philbin has outlined. I don't really have a problem with the hire. It seems that the player selection process of the 53 roster will be a much more collaborative and mutual agreement with Philbin and Hickey rather than the GM making the decision with input from the coach.

Philbin and long term are three words I don't like hearing in the same sentence.

    Well away from here
Just curious, but who puts those coaches and players in place?

    Management. Just saying.
