So at the proceeding link, ESPN is honoring players who should have at least made it to a Super Bowl (Marino wouldn't be here). They honored Jason Taylor, but look at the ****ing jersey he's wearing: http://espn.go.com/nfl/feature/video/_/page/superbowlproject2014/wish-were-here
The best years of his career came with the Dolphins. His best shot at the Super Bowl came with the Jets.
I'm shocked Tebow isn't on that list... ESPN is so obsessed with that guy, they even graded his little broadcasting gig he had 4 weeks ago in full detail.
No lie, he was dead to me for that entire season. Never thought I'd be able to forgive him, but thankfully I made peace with it. One of the most dominant players I've ever had a pleasure of watching in a Dolphins uniform.
All was right in the world for me because I understand it is a business... until he spiked the football on the wall. That **** hurt.
Do you think the 5 sacks he had in NY is what got him on that list, Ed? No way no how. Might as well've put Aaron Maybin on that list with his 6 sacks in NY if that's the case. Taylor is on that list b/c of his 13 years in MIAMI that netted 6 Pro Bowls, NFL DPOY, 2x AFC DPOY, 2000's All Decade, Walter Payton Man of the Year, 131 of his 139.5 sacks, and a sure-fire HOF induction.
Salt in the wound.... Taylor is dead to me....I don't care if he came back to the Phins...he did the unforgivable...
Ill always appreciate what he did as a player for us, but this is like Favre on the Vikings. Its just wrong on so many levels.
He could have gone to any team, but not one in the east....seeing him in that baby **** green....turns my stomach...
Thank the Dolphins organization for hiring Parcells, who wouldn't even give Jason Taylor the time of day when they used the same elevator at the facility. Taylor says "hello", and Parcells does not acknowledge it. And you wonder why Taylor signed on with the Jets? They actually WANTED him and showed him respect. I do not even think his contract was that significant. At that point in his career, he wanted a Super Bowl. He could not do that in Miami. Why not with a defensive stalwart coach in Rex Ryan? I do not put this on Jason Taylor at all.
No doubt, I get it. I have to believe it was difficult for him as well. But, as business goes, Taylor took his business elsewhere.
Taylor was all about image and business...the Dancing show thing doesn't help either.... In the end...he could have gone to the Giants and won a Super Bowl and I would have been happy for him, but the stinkin' Jets... I do blame Parcell as well for pushing him out, but.....Jets...
You could tell he loved the Miami fans and he hated NY fans. But he did what he had to do. If anything it was an FU to the management and not the Miami fans.
let me tell you jokers about ole Jason Taylor . He may have been a stud player but I have to tell you all that Jason was too focused on his dancing around like a fairy thus the nickname by some of our other guys Mr. Twinkle toes HE spent his second year looking at himself as a poster board model then he went dancing with dancing with the stars . I would bet anyone that had we kept Patrick Surtain and Sam Madison instead of Jason and Zach our defense would not have had so many holes to fill.
Sorry, if you want to be in good standing with your primary team, you don't do what JT did. A rift with parcells aside, he wasn't smart enough to realize the magnitude of his actions. This is why Favre is a forgotten man in GB. You screwed your fans, you idiots. Zach even said hes just too loyal to do anything like that.
Favre had options... and chose a rival. JT didn't have options. It was the Jets or retirement... and he played for 2 more seasons after that...
Jason Taylor is one of the most accomplished defensive ends/lineman in NFL history. IDK wtf you're talking about.
