All I can say is watch him play when he actually has to carry his team and then assess how often you see him come up short. It rarely happens. Lets just say there's only a few QBs in the league I'd rather have at the helm in the clutch over Wilson. I'd put him top 5 in that regard, perhaps top 3.
Despite Eli having 2 rings and Peyton with 1- Peyton is 1st Ballot hall of Famer. he has the records and the Mvp's. Eli will be forever a hall of famer to me to stop the undefeated Pats record in that won of a kind superbowl.
He's 19/23 after missing that first throw. Exclude the throwaway shovel pass and it's 19/22 with every completion being on the money.
Kevin Coyle would've given up 3 TDs by now with this same Seattle group after being outcoached plus playing everyone out of position or poorly fit to the scheme.
A lot of people make a big deal about how safe Wilson and Foles play and how uncomplicated their offenses are. Apparently simple offenses are where it's at.
If I'm Seattle I'd pull Wilson now. No reason he should be taking off and running on that first down. Last thing you need is him blowing out his knee in a superbowl blowout
He clearly forces players to fit his scheme rather than adjusts the scheme etc to fit the players like Seattle does..... and unlike Coyle, Seattle finds a way to get their most talented players on the field at once, even if it means shifting player around to new positions or adjusting positional responsibilities. Meanwhile, Coyle has Starks & Jordan on the bench in base D [which has killed us against the run], has the linebackers playing in ways that don't fit their strengths or what they're accustomed to doing, and is making one of the more promising young safeties in the NFL, Reshad Jones, look lost. He's a second year offensive coordinator with a limited repertoire b/c of it [as well as b/c his entire NFL career has been spent in Cincy]. So basically he's more of a 1 trick pony DC.
I want Sherman to do an interview about how he could cover these sorry *** bronco receivers on crutches
Dang, if Wilson completed his last pass he would've posted the 3rd highest completion % in SB history.
I don't really agree with that. Tonight was just a nasty piece of randomness IMO. It was just a crap storm for Denver from the first snap. **** happens Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
