Overreacting Todd and Alex meet "The good guys" in FinD and Lucky. My opinion (I know you want it) is that unless your an "Injun", you really have no right to call this country YOURS. And the people speaking different languages honestly shouldn't offend you IMO. Now our flawed government who hold us American born citizens responsible for financially supporting the non Americans who come here?? Ridiculous. I could go on and on about the BS tax breaks, college tuition etc advantages that are afforded. It's unfair that many of us are in a way financially responsible for them. The Government taking care of its own people first might be a better long term answer. On the other hand you have two other guys who seem to thrive on any opportunity to call anyone they can a racist on this board. They sugarcoat issues with ridiculous "cheap labor" excuses, condescending but ridiculous comments like "oh you have black friends" nonsense. In short...just because your cousin cuts lawns for 50 cents on the dollar doesn't make up for the inflated crime or any other drains they present. This country isn't really "ours" and the people running it are IMO a joke. It is what is so why waste your breath? None of us are going to be running for congress anytime soon. Enjoy your time on EARTH it goes by fast, why worry about things you can't control.

I have no issues with anyone working any job who are subject to the same tax brackets as the rest of us. But if you bought your ID and SS card from some other scumbag, then I hope you get deported sooner than later. All I want is equality on all fronts. But believe me I know you two think we OWE other races and non Americans based on prior events. Wich is comedy.
Immigrants are not all cheap, unskilled labor. A good number of the brightest, most skilled, wealthiest and hardest working of the people of other nations immigrate to the United States. Other nations are less than happy about this. I would say that all it takes to call this country "yours" is to want to be an American, obey the laws of the land, work hard, become a productive member of your community, learn to speak as much English as you are capable of learning, take the oath of citizenship, pay taxes, and defend the nation when called upon to do it. At that point, where you came from is irrelevant and what you culturally brought with you enriches the nation.
What about the immigrants that are recruited by the big food producing companies with the promise they'll get their work visas. Then are brought here by the same companies and are basically treated as indentured servants to these businesses who never fulfill their promises so these workers stay undocumented and therefore can't fight back against the conditions they work in. On top of all that, unless your family came over in the past 50 years or so or are 100% native american, then you have no right to ***** about immigrants considering your family came over when the immigration laws were considerably more open then they are now. The only way to become a citizen of this country is through a lottery, marriage or work. If you don't understand how rigged that is, your opinion on the topic is useless.

If there is really anything to be mad about in the ad is that Coke has the audacity to think that it's product is the singular unifying aspect of American culture. It's like you go to your job in the morning as an English speaker, you get a phone call from someone speaking Spanish and then you transfer him to someone speaking Chinese, and that guy transfers him to another guy speaking German. Of course, nothing gets done. Business grinds to a halt; cultures and perspectives cannot be exchanged. But all of this is alleviated in 15 minutes when the four of you go down to the vending area and bond over some bottles of Coke As for people not learning English, **** 'em if they don't want to. If they don't want to participate and integrate themselves into larger society, that is their choice. It is an incredibly small, provincial and unenlightened choice, but it is for them to make. For some background, I am first generation born in the US on my mother's side, so I know what it is like to have grandparents that speak broken English and a mom that has an accent and says things backwards sometimes. One thing that I do take issue with are policies of accommodation. There is some evidence out there that second-generation immigrants are not speaking English either and I think that is a problem. This is different than saying "learn English hell yeah!" Immigrants learning English is natural thing that doesn't need a policy. But for some reason in some locales, we decided to go the opposite way and are fostering the differences between us. I can't understand why.
No. It's a ****ing commercial. People need to take it for face value and find better ways to use their time. As someone who produces commercials for a living, this reaction is exactly the point of a national brand commercial: to get people talking/reinforce their image.
