I heard on the radio today the hosts talking about cultures of teams, callin "Miami toxic"

The perception is fully in effect.

Dolphins have fallen off since they left the Orange Bowl, simple as that.

Even worse, every year we're somehow still "in it" until the final weeks when our team implodes. Right as we're about to turn that corner, the steering wheel locks up.

They've only appeared in the playoffs once since that game and never won another playoff game.

Those Indian bones we dug out and tractor'd over to build Sun Life probably put a hex on the Dolphins.

If this list was based off the last 15 years, we'd surely be in the top 5-6. I can only think of:

    Buffalo
    Cleveland
    Detroit
    Washington?
    KC

I guess that means the Seahawks are next in line to go 15+ years without winning a playoff game then.

    This line really got me:

I am not breaking balls, but is this guy living in the 80's? They haven't felt like a marquis franchise in forever. But at least they did at one time, unlike the Jets.

I think the 1972 season has a lot to do with that perception. Every year when the last undefeated team loses, and the 72 Dolphins are mentioned, you remember just how good we were. Despite the fact that we haven't been a good team since the 90s.

I'm not sure I buy that. 72 was so long ago. Most in the 18 - 30 age group view that like ancient history. Heck, I was only 5 when that happened and I'm 46.

As most know I am a Jets fan. To me, (remember I'm 46) the height of the Miami franchise was when Shula and Marino were there together. After that, I just didn't view them the same way.

We're linked to success in every way even though we aren't having any of our own anymore. Whenever manning and Brady are talked about in the GOAT discussions, Marino/Montana/elway come up. Belichecks win total still miles behind Shula. As mentioned, 72 season comes up every year and always will until someone else does it.

We may not deserve it, and division rivals certainly see through our shroud of false success, but outside of the afc east I bet most fans still link us to success

The Detroit Lions have won 1 playoff game since 1957...

Are we heading in that direction?

The far bigger shocker is the bengals haven't won a playoff game since 1991. Longest in the nfl. And they've had many appearances...

Probably has to do with the fact that we were so good for so long, rarely missing the playoffs during Shula/JJ years.

The writer must be a Jags fan, putting them 20th. Far as I'm concerned, the 3 non Super Bowl ever teams have to be 1,2, and 3. Detroit, Cleveland and Jacksonville.

The Dolphins were nothing special under Johnson. They didn't even win the division with him as coach. It's really the Shula years for me.

JJ built a pretty good 4-3 defense for us and gave us credibility in the NFL. We were still a respectable franchise under his tutelage. Granted, it never amounted to much since he couldn't put together an offense Marino could work with and JJ/Marino's ego clashing also hurt us.

Supposedly the Seminole Indians said yeah if we disturb the bones there no one will win a championship there, which was debunked in 1997.....
