Martin seems to be a popular choice in round 2. Given Miami's needs at the OL - I am not a huge fan of Kouandjio but at #19 I think I'd take him and I'd probably plug him at RT (like SD did with Fluker). I'd take this and go home and be happy. Thomas will compete against Thigpen and I just could not pass up his overall athleticism. 19 OT CYRUS KOUANDJIO ALABAMA 50 OG ZACK MARTIN NOTRE DAME 81 RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON 112 ILB MAX BULLOUGH MICHIGAN STATE 143 OT JAMES HURST (Hurst broke his leg, but in round 5, I'm taking a chance on him - esp. since I already have two OLs drafted) UNC 174 TE MARCEL JENSEN FRESNO STATE 211 WR RYAN GRANT TULANE

I'd take Skov right now over any of our ILB starters. TE who can be a red zone force and with his speed - a big weapon to go with Clay. Competition at RB and returns. A WR who can develop and a developmental OG with some potential to become a starter in a year or two. Honestly, at this point, I think I'd start Skov if we got him - and then start Jenkins at OLB.

Dion Jordan goes to OLB, Gayle to DE, Van Noy to OLB and Misi to the middle. An heir and a spare at OT both sides to decrapitate the position, maybe look and Henderson at OG, not sure. Ellerbe and Wheeler are GONE. Spend some of that money on OG, I would have liked to get one true OG here but I couldn't pass up on Henderson in the 5th rd. Gayle is an explosive DE- him, Wake and Vernon at DE with Jordan and Van Noy at OLB = pass rushing firepower.
Like how we both got Moses and Fiedorowicz at 81 and 112. If we got Robinson and Moses it would be a dream come true. But, I cannot imagine Robinson making it to 19. The fact that we have no flexibility this year (after doing all sorts of crazy trading down and up last year) is a bit annoying, to be honest.

I would take either Lewan or Richardson at OT at our first round pick. Then go home and be happy. If we can land another OL or two in free agency (OT and an OG) I'd still want to draft an OT and an OG if possible.
Sweet jesus...Taylor Lewan, Aaron Donald, Niklas in the 4th and Jeremy Hill in the 5th. I'd explode if that happened. I've never been a huge fan of Su'a-Filo though I know several are. I honestly haven't looked much at Jimmie Ward or Jay Bromley but I imagine since they still have Billy Turner ranked #271 there's no way I could execute one of these and not end up taking turner in the 6th or 7th round. I'd probably find it just as hard to ignore guys like Aaron Lynch and Kareem Martin in the 6th round (ranked #183 & #185, respectively), and effing impossible to resist LB Eddie Lackey in the 7th round (ranked #484). I imagine that if I'm trying to optimize based on their rankings I would have to think pretty hard about doing very similar to what you did but bumping several guys up because you got them a little further down than their rankinsg would suggest. That would mean: R1: OT Taylor Lewan, Michigan R2: DT Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh R3: TE Troy Niklas, Notre Dame R4: RB Jeremy Hill, LSU R5: DE James Gayle, Virginia Tech R6: OT Billy Turner, North Dakota State R7: LB Eddie Lackey, Baylor While that draft does stick to some positions of need I think more than anything I'm maximizing the value of the availabilities. As I've said for a while, Billy Turner, Eddie Lackey and Troy Niklas should be legitimately discussed as potentially being the best at their positions. They're D.J. Haydens. Jeremy Hill is the same at his position. Aaron Donald is the same at his position. And finally yes I believe James Gayle belongs in the discussion of whether he's among the best defensive ends as I see some Greg Hardy there. Basically if I walk away from the draft with those seven players, I'm convinced there's a halfway decent chance that any of the seven picks could be the best at their position in the entire draft.
Figured I would try one based on going heavy in FA with OL and letting Patterson and Carroll walk to pay for Grimes. Bring in a high CB to compete with Taylor/Davis for the #2/3 spot and a later round corner to throw in the mix. And of course add a couple weapons for the offense. 19 TE ERIC EBRON UNC 50 CB MARCUS ROBERSON FLORIDA 81 RB KA’DEEM CAREY ARIZONA 112 DT ANTHONY JOHNSON LSU 143 CB CHRIS DAVIS AUBURN 174 TE MARCEL JENSEN FRESNO STATE 211 WR JEFF JANIS SAGINAW VALLEY STATE
Would like for the site to update its rankings to correspond with other rating services and mocks that are out there. Then it would make it more interesting.

The Billy Turner pick on this simulation is just too easy. For some reason the site hasn't caught on that most people are projecting him in the top rounds. Same thing just happened when I tried it and got Pierre Desir in the 7th. Clearly not up on their small school guys.

You win. After the Seastrunk pick you could pretty much say, we are allowing a monkey to pick the rest of our draft, we got everyone we need. And drop the mic. Those top 4 are amazing.
I haven't done one of these in a while. The latest one I did: R1: DT Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh R2: CB Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech R3: OT Billy Turner, North Dakota State R4: RB Jeremy Hill, LSU R5: FS Kenny Ladler, Vanderbilt R6: TE Crockett Gilmore, Colorado State R7: DE Tyler Starr, South Dakota Top UDFAs: QB Dustin Vaughan, QB Brock Jensen, RB Zurlon Tipton, RB Branden Oliver, WR Cody Hoffman, WR L'Damian Washington, TE Gator Hoskins, OG Zach Fulton, DT Mike Pennel, DE Roosevelt Nix, LB Eddie Lackey, LB Jack Tyler, LB Shaquil Barrett, CB Aaron Colvin, FS Nickoe Whitley Secondary UDFAs: QB Tyler Russell, RB Isaiah Crowell, RB Marcus Shaw, WR Alex Neutz, WR Willie Snead, TE Colt Lyerla, OT Matt Patchan, DT Kerry Hyder, DE Walker May, FS Jemea Thomas
Kudos. I also have Billy Turner as a must have players. Matter of fact I have him at 19 to get that out of the way. I am also big on Fuller and Crockett and often have them in my drafts. Kenny Ladler as well, but less, because I have Loston mocked in 3rd round. My most frequent mock is: 1 Billy Turner, Hageman, Martin 2 Martavis Bryant, Baptiste, Fuller 3. Loston 4. Ellis DT 5. Freeman RB, Gillmore TE 6. Barrett OLB, Trai Turner
I happen to think that taking three tailbacks you have some conviction in during UDFA is probably going to be a better strategy than going after most of the mid-round types. You will get more bang for your buck. The exception to me would be a Jeremy Hill, especially all the way down into the 4th round. There are some off field and character issues to sort through, and I haven't even begun that process with him. But as far as the talent on the field goes, he reminds me of a Brandon Jacobs except not quite AS huge as Jacobs, but with a lot more experience and versatility in the passing game. It's the fact that he is able to marry a lot of experience and savvy as a pass catcher to his being a compelling power back that makes me put him in as an exception. I have Kyle Fuller as potentially the very best corner in this draft. I haven't taken as deep a dive as I'd like on Darqueze Dennard yet but those two are neck and neck for me. When I see him available in the 2nd round then it's a no-brainer because he already would have been amongst the players I debate at 19 overall. I took Aaron Donald at 19 because I have him as a Marquee player, rather than just a 1st rounder. There's something special about him that I feel will make him end up one of the few well knowns among defensive tackles in the NFL. Billy Turner could have gone higher at my 2nd round pick. However, I don't have him as a Marquee player whereas I have both Aaron Donald and Kyle Fuller as that type of player. I could not in good conscience take Turner with either of those two available and that's why I had to wait until the 3rd round. Luckily, he was still there. Kenny Ladler is a guy I have rated high enough to go on Day 2. His range, discipline and the speed of his reads stood out to me in 2012 and I think it's no surprise that he ended up with 5 interceptions and 5 forced fumbles, while leading his defense in tackles in 2013. This was of course in the SEC. I like that the first thing I noticed about him was that he was a relatively safe and disciplined player, and the underlying traits that led to those things also produced big plays. The down side and ultimate reason he's still there in the 5th round is his athleticism, which is not headline-grabbing. In the 6th round I found it difficult to continue passing on TE Crockett Gilmore. He's not a good blocker but he is a classic tall and athletic threat up the seam that displays good hands capable of catching the football outside his frame. He's a good athlete and moves very fluidly. He would make a very classic complement to Charles Clay, though I'm not entirely sure the Dolphins are looking for a classic complement to him. They may want a guy that resembles Clay. Nonetheless, Gilmore is a good player whose value is hard to pass up at this stage. Finally in the 7th round there is a guy in Tyler Starr who will probably go much higher than this especially after wowing some people at the NFL Combine. I like the look of him as a defensive end and I know that he can play linebacker as well. He is insurance in case Dion Jordan doesn't pan out and to be honest you can't have too many Tyler Starrs on your football team. I have him rated as a potential Day 2 value and here he was available in the 7th round...so I could not say no. He is a version of Koa Misi that is far more compelling in pure pass rush because of his ability to bend and cut sharp corners. He marries pass rush ability with blitz ability.
I agree, Ladler reminds of Chancellor. But still, he only reminds, but that may be good enough and thensome. I agree, Gillmore is a must in the 6th. I'd take him even higher depending on how the draft shakes up. I like Hill, but I like Freeman more. Both run with power. What differentiates Freeman for me is the outside runs.
Would love Hill in the 4th but I wonder if Philbin's no-nonsense character issue will affect it. Not disagreeing with your picks, but where would Donald fit in our rotation? I honestly don't see why Fuller is slept on so much. Best CB by far in this draft. Verrett is also overlooked. Love the rest of the picks.
Kyle Fuller won't be slept on anymore I think after he goes to the Combine and tosses out some legit times. Jason Verrett might not do the same, though I do like him a lot and think he can play. I picture Aaron Donald as essentially replacing Randy Starks, who seems intent on leaving the team. I believe Miami could retain Paul Soliai but that still leaves 742 snaps previously taken up by Starks in the rotation with Odrick and Soliai. I think Donald would fit the position like a glove. And you're absolutely right about Jeremy Hill and Joe Philbin. The question will be how much authority Philbin will have versus Dennis Hickey because Hickey's Buccaneers had a history of taking chances on high talent guys that fell for reasons not unlike the reasons a Jeremy Hill could fall.
Maybe Mike Evans will run slow and fall. I love a guy that fights for the ball. He's like an angry receiver.
I don't know if he will. I think Kelvin Benjamin will run slow and fall. But I think Mike Evans will run well.
