This question might already been asked but why do the 2nd place jets pick ahead of the 3rd place dolphins?
You would fiqure the team that finish ahead in the standings would pick after.****ing stupid. We have a 3rd place schedule next year and they have the 2nd place schedule.
So I had a post typed insulting the Jets for having Geno Smith....then I remembered week 17 and deleted it.
That's correct. Division doesn't matter when determining draft order among tied teams, but for some stupid reason when a tie has to be broken among wild card playoff teams, division record suddenly takes precedence. Ergo, if San Diego had lost to Denver and we finished in a 5 way tie at 8-8, we would've missed the playoffs b/c the Jets owned a better division record even though Miami boasted the best AFC record of the 5 times, but now when it comes to the draft, even though the league would've given the Jets a playoff nod over us, they're suddenly picking before us. It's pretty f***ed up really.
I'm not even remotely sold on Geno Smith, but in all fairness he had the worst cast of receivers in the NFL to throw to. On so many plays he would literally have no open receivers. After a while he became inpatient and started trying to fit balls in to covered receivers. We all know the result. I don't see very many qb's having success with the set of receivers the Jets had.
hey NaboCane where did you get those pics of Wanny and Ross with slogans on it ? want to make up some funny pics with former players.
Jets ended our season, cost us a playoff spot, pick ahead of us in the draft and they'll probably steal Ebron away from us so he can terrorize our back 7 for years to come...this sucks. only thing that might work against them is the week 17 win finally got Ireland fired, though Hickey probably isn't that much of an upgrade.
