    But the most damining pasrt:

And it's this; Philbin's unwavering defense of the indefensible; his steadfast defense of Mike Sherman, when it was painfully obvious to even the clueless Steve Ross that Sherman was the problem with the Offense. It's this defense of Turner in the face of the OL Coach's meathead tactics and abusive management style. It's Philbin not calling out underperforming players, yet let any four of them be on a leadership council and air legitimate grievances, and they're GONE. It's Philbin's statement that he liked a particular player because he "keeps his mouth shut".

There are things to like about Philbin. He's not a total, despicable scumbag like Jeff Ireland; by all accounts, he's a decent man. Yet, where was that decency when people were being physically and verbally abused, while people were being harassed, while his players were coming in drunk for practices? He traded Vontae Davis away because the last straw was that Davis came into practice still drunk from the night before; how did he see that, but not that his pro-bowl Center and his starting Left Tackle did the same?

It's painfully obvious from comments in other threads that a ot of people have simply never had management responsibilities. But it's really a very simple edict, the covenant between a person charged with managing people and the organization which employs him: when you're in charge, you're responsible.

Turner isn't a fall guy, he's the main dbag, imo.

But the job is most def too big for Philbin, even without the Martin incident.

I thought Joe Philbin was a head coach, not a social worker.

And you think Turner is going to admit to Philbin that harrassment was taking place when he was one of the main culprits?

I think I think it's funny how many of you know exactly was was done or said behind closed doors. You know exactly who was responsible for what and for what reason. You all have your agendas and will blow small excerpts out of proportion to fit your jaded views.

I don't think that article is fair to Philbin at all. Bad Armando.

Why, because now Andrew McDonald is sticking up for Turner?

This is strait from the Wells report.

I find it interesting in the instance where J.Martin was "bullying" that it was just in good fun. How can you distinguish between when its just good fun and when its "bullying"? I find this to be one of the biggest problems with the report. If its ok for one player to do it all in good fun, then they should also be able to take it.

I know it is a metaphor here, but it is a common and annoying historical fallacy to state that Nero fiddled while Rome burnt.

According to Tacitus, he returned to Rome immediately, paid for the relief effort from his own funds and housed the homeless in his own palaces.

So I guess that means Joe Philbin is God.

The only people who "like" Jim Turner are the ones who have something to lose if he is as much of a piece of **** as we now know he is; in particular, people *coughjoephilbin* who don't want to admit they made a mistake hiring him.

Oh, and one player so marginal he has to say all the right things so he doesn't miss out on an opportunity to go be a backup on another team.

Interesting how Davis have bathroom breaks was a sign of a player not caring to play during week 1 of TC which resulted in a trade but a player coming out and admitting to suicidal thoughts wasn't a sign for anything outside of a 20 min talk which is actually not long at ALL.

Joe needs to GTFO of this organization asap. His son died and he took the job the following day for crying out loud. I don't think he gives a **** about Martin hence zero follow up on how he was doing.

I don't like martin, nor do i like Incognito, but i really hate Joe. He isn't a coach, he isn't a leader, nor a leader of men, he belongs behind the closed doors taking orders.

There was more than a 20 minute talk. Philbin set up for martin to see a therapist. Get your facts straight before you complain.

Other than the fact that it was a lyre and not a fiddle, the two aren't mutually exclusive. Plus there is the annoying fact that he built the largest palace in the history of the city on the land "conveniently" cleared by the fire. He also blamed it on the Christians, which resulted in innocents being torn apart by beasts in the arena.

But getting back to Philbin, defending him is different from defending Nero. Nero was an example of absolute power corrupting absolutely. Philbin, on the other hand, is struggling to be competent at a job that he has, so far, been unable to handle, and is going about the job negligently. Philbin is no Nero.

Will rookies ever to do stupid rookie shows or hazing like things again? Seems like teams will crack down on it, no more sending over James Harrison when some rookie doesn't want to do the show.

    Grade A..100% complete Bull****.

To A MAN....Jim Turner is well liked BY ALL the Players he coached this past year.

The passive-aggressive jab toward Mckiinie doesn't work either since Mckinnie has earned over $80 MILLION DOLLARS in his career. I am sure he needs to kiss *** for a $2 mil a year gig....

What a cogent argument. You feel that "raising your voice" make anything you say truer? Or that denigrating my opinion does?

Mckinnie is a type "B" personality; he lives to please, and to serve his own needs. He wants to "get along," so yes, he's going to publicly say what's expedient in case Turner is retained, because he wants to come back and play at home his least seasons or last couple of seasons. And no, it's not about money for him; it's about continuing to do the one thing he's done all his life and delay the inevitable one or two more years. Because it's not like McKinnie has that exciting career in heart surgery lined up after he retires from football.

But of course, now that you're ******* buddies with him you know everything. Everything he'll tell you or any other member of the media, that is. McKinnie is just a big kid who wants to have fun, and all the fun he's had so far in his life has been performing, or made possible by, or wrapped tightly in pro football. He'll say whatever he needs to say to stay on the fun train as long as he possibly can.

Anyway, whatever reference I made in my post was in discussion of McDonald, not McKinnie.

Calling out Section for raising his voice with firsthand knowledge after you compare this situation to Nazi Germany?

And again with armchair psychological analysis, this time on McKinnie?

Like I said, give it a rest. Your blind hatred towards the organization is clouding your ability to form coherent arguments.

All you are doing is denigrating other people and their opinions, and you're doing it with pure speculation. How in the hairy hell would you know if McKinnie is type B or A? You probably never have even met the guy. Section has btw, and has had extensive conversations with him.

Don't worry, if McKinnie said the opposite he would be praising him for his honesty and refreshing personality. Since McKinnie did not say what he wanted him to say, it's time for a psychological profile and analysis to discredit what he actually did say.

I don't know the guy that well but I've watched a lot of interviews from college, I've watched how he coaches, and I liked how he spoke about John Jerry last year, if I was a player I'd want to play for him, cause I like that hard militaristic approach, I think there are scenarios that blow the doll thing out of perspective, but he didn't recognize a player that was very vulnerable and he didn't tell his guys to let up, so for that, he miss judged a mans threshold.

To paraphrase the Tuna, you are as good a coach as the performance of your players says you are. Regardless of whether his players like Turner and want to play for him, this offensive line, with three former Pro Bowlers, is the worst in the league, and Turner, with a long preseason and a full season, hasn't been able to figure out how to make them better, militaristic or no. He should be replaced, independently of Bullygate.
