How long until football? Look what happens when we've nothing useful to talk about. As for your previous question, he'd only be on my roster if the scouts told me he's better than what we have. Is that the case? Probably not.

I'm not trying to offend you either, but you can't have it both ways. Either both of us are entitled to believe what we believe or we aren't. From the bottom of my soul, I believe that there is a God and that the Bible is His word. If you don't believe that, then I'm cool with that...but don't hate me or my religion because we see things differently. The Bible instructs all Christians to spread the word of God, so it's not like people are trying to make you hate yourself. We're following God's commandment.

I think the part that you don't realize is that there are not "degrees of sin." A murderer is not any worse than a kid that lies to his mom in the eyes of God, and both can equally be forgiven with repentance. That's why I've said every time that I'm not here to judge you, because I'm far from being the perfect man that God wants me to be.

As far as the bullying goes, that's a completely different issue and nowhere near exclusive to homosexuals. To me, that's more like the Martin thing...who was really at fault there? Over a half-dozen people knew about Martin, including his own parents, but not a single person reached out to the coaching staff to make the abuse stop. There's a lot of fault that can spread around for bullying but with most things, it starts at home and how you raise your child.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I made you upset...but I'll never be sorry that I shared God's word.

And sometimes with this subject I don't know how to put things into context without some thinking I'm offending them..I'm sorry, but please listen and try to understand and explain if you can.

I know that you don't want people to kill themselves, but you are aware that when you say things like you did above or when the words in the bible about homosexuality are publicized it can be interpreted to a young person struggling with why he feels attracted to the same sex to the extreme degree, you do know that it can lead to them killing themselves, the shame they experience, the feeling of being unworthy in gods eyes, especially the young ones who believe in god..

What are you willing to do or say to keep them from feeling that way??

You will probabaly say, they should not give in to their urges and instincts to be with the same sex.

Is he better then what we have..not with Wake and Jordan, is he a better pass rusher than Vern, maybe so, is it worth the risk for me to find out, yes, even if he only becomes a good backup, special teams players, I will take that risk in the fourth.

Please stop mis-characterizing and I am personally offended by your lack of tolerance for the beliefs of others, I would hope you will respect the wishes of those you disagree with and tolerate their views without offending.

    Would you answer this question??

Earlier another poster posted scriptures and beliefs that he feels homosexuals are in a path to eternal damnation, then he posted that not to fault him for spreading the word, for that is what god wants him to do..

Are you spreading the word that homosexuality is a sin and for those who are shall go to hell?

My care for young people who are confused and committing suicide because of this spreading of gods word on this subject and from how the scriptures are being interpreted by these young people super cedes my care of being tolerant to those who are doing the spreading..

That conversation with a friend of mines niece came from her talking about a boy in her school that she thinks is " weird" That little girl at 11 years old and her classmates are already picking on that other 11 year old, she told me he's a sinner because he has a pink backpack, and acts like a girly girl..

Y'all should pray for that little boy.

What typically happens in these discussions, is that the defenders of homosexual preference pronounce their aversion of religious views while drawing a pathetic caricature of those views to ridicule, all while proclaiming the need for tolerance and understanding/acceptance of their views. You proclaim mercy for your compassion for young people, which is a false dichotomy (that you care and christians do not). This is a pathetic attempt to discredit views which you differ, and you should stop promoting it. You don't have to be an expert in history to see that the Christian church has done far, far more to help children than any other group, and they do it in the light of their faith, not contrary to it. A person mentioned earlier about God and disfigured people, again a pathetic mis-characterization meant to demean Christian views of God, but it is false. For the Atheist all they can say to the disfigured child is "tough luck, that's the way the DNA goes" "if we knew about this before you were born, we could have terminated your life" and has no hope to offer, no hope to offer people who are hopelessly lost in various addictions and bearing great consequence for their choices from which they see no hope.

However there is hope in Christ. I know, I once was blind, but now I see.

To those people (especially the kids), I have two things to say-

#1- God loves you. Even if you don't love Him back and you're living the exact opposite of what the Bible says, He still loves you and wants the best for your life. No matter how far off His path you get, He will still be watching and hoping for you to find your way in life.

#2- God does not punish sinners. While you may not be living your life in a way that pleases God, he has hopes that you'll one day accept His teachings and have eternal life. Now, God does bless those who follows His word, but I'd leave that part out for now. The important thing is that God will never hate, condemn, or try to punish those who live an immoral life.

Now you're right, I will say that they shouldn't give into their urges...but I'd say the same thing to a drunk that's throwing his life away. That doesn't mean I hate the guy though, because I'm trying to help him get his life back on track and sober up. For the umpteenth time, Christians should not be judging anyone or acting like they're better than someone else...because we're all sinners.

Accepting God, submitting to His will, praying for forgiveness, witnessing to others and trying to live a better life is pretty much the Bible in a nutshell. That's how we should all be living, including children with homosexual thoughts. They shouldn't be punishing themselves because they feel different, and they shouldn't feel like God hates them. Without trying to change though and praying for guidance, they are not submitting to God. That's about as "nice" as I can put it.

Towards your other comment, God controls the kingdom of Heaven but for now, Satan is allowed to rule the Earth. The book of Revelation talks about God's final judgement where all the Christians will be removed from the Earth before the end of days, and he will return to the earth and strike Satan down once and for all. Now, He's God, so he could smite down people living in sin like someone else mentioned, but that's not His plan (mainly, because almost 100% of us would be toast). Instead, He gives you life to find His teachings, repent from your sins, and to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Your free will allows you to make a choice, and in the end that's how God judges your life. Did you try to know him? Did you try to help others get on the right track? These are the types of questions that people will face on Judgement Day.

By the way, I said "you" in there a lot but I'm obviously not pointing at you personally...I was just using that statement in general. "You" does not mean gay people either; I was directing it towards anyone who doesn't know God.

And for anyone reading this who is young and confused, being attracted to the same sex is not a sin, we understand you don't have a choice, we don't expect you to stop thinking or doing what you feel is normal, we will love you no matter what.

That stuff at inception took a left for you and a right to me, no big deal man..were all the same.

You are doing to Atheists precisely what you proclaim to dislike that is done to Christians.

I see no reason that you can believe homosexuality is bad and I can see it as not bad. The problem is that no one is forcing you to have homosexual sex or have a homosexual marriage. On the other hand, you want to prevent others from having homosexual sex and marriage. Your side is literally attacking the other side, and then you turn around and act like the persecuted side all while insulting another group entirely (atheists).

How can you not see that?

If all sins are equal, then your avatar is no different then being gay. In fact its worse, because its promoting lust and tattoos.

Its perfectly ok for you to believe anything you wish. The problem comes in when people want their beliefs to dictate other people's lives...especially when the rules they are using are inconsistent. the Bible calls homosexuality an abomination. that is not the same thing as a sin. Other abominations from the Bible: women wearing men's clothes, capital punishment, uncleanness, foolish thoughts, lies, adultery, etc., where's all the movements against those things? They don't exist, because people pick and choose things from sacred text that they decide is important and discard the rest (which is technically a sin and an abomination).

Why is it, that you can live by your beliefs, but the LGBT community cannot live by theirs?

Nobody is expecting you to endorse homosexuality. Just be tolerant of those who are different than you are. As for ignoring the bible, most Christians seem to have no problem ignoring the parts that don't suit their preconceived prejudices. Many of them are all shook up about the homos because of what Leviticus says. Yet have no problem eating shellfish, getting tattoos, wearing clothes of mixed fibers, etc. All the other things Leviticus speaks against.

"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology." - Thomas Jefferson

"If a man would follow, today, the teachings of the Old Testament, he would be a criminal. If he would follow strictly the teachings of the New, he would be insane."--Robert G. Ingersoll

"Religion is fundamentally opposed to everything I hold in veneration--courage, clear thinking, honesty, fairness, and, above all, love of the truth." --Henry Louis Mencken

"The great unmentionable evil at the center of our culture is monotheism. From a barbaric Bronze Age text known as the Old Testament, three anti-human religions evolved; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These are sky-god religions. They are, literally, patriarchal. God is the Omnipotent Father, hence the loathing of women for 2,000 years in those countries afflicted by the sky-god and his earthly male delegates." ~ Gore Vidal

“Of all the systems of religion that ever were invented, there is no more derogatory to the Almighty, more unedifying to man, more repugnant to reason, and more contradictory to itself than this thing called Christianity. Too absurd for belief, too impossible to convince, and too inconsistent for practice, it renders the heart torpid or produces only atheists or fanatics. As an engine of power, it serves the purpose of despotism, and as a means of wealth, the avarice of priests, but so far as respects the good of man in general it leads to nothing here or hereafter.” ― Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason

"So, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, if you go for all these fairy tales, that "evil" woman convinced the man to eat the apple, but the apple came from the Tree of Knowledge. And the punishment that was then handed down, the woman gets to bleed and the guy's got to go to work, is the result of a man desiring, because his woman suggested that it would be a good idea, that he get all the knowledge that was supposedly the property and domain of God. So, that right away sets up Christianity as an anti-intellectual religion. You never want to be that smart. If you're a woman, it's going to be running down your leg, and if you're a guy, you're going to be in the salt mines for the rest of your life. So, just be a dumb f**k and you'll all go to heaven. That's the subtext of Christianity." -- Frank Zappa

So your bible tells you my life is a sin. Great.
Why do you feel gays need to be reminded of this constantly?
What does MY life do to impact you?
You don't believe homosexuality isn't moral according to your creed, so it should be restricted or not allowed to be discussed openly?

Talk about delusions of self importance.

If you come at me with god and the bible, I'm within my right to say it's my belief god is fake and IDGAF about your religion.
But somehow being intolerant of your intolerance makes me the problem.

How can some say that it's as simple as a choice..obviously it's not for all those that took their life because they were confused and scorned.

Organized religion is the root of all evil. Wars and crusades fought in the name of imaginary friends. Baffles me to this day. If I told you I based my life's beliefs around a man in a red cape and blue tights who could fly and came from another planet, you'd laugh. But it's perfectly acceptable to base your life around the same ridiculous stories of a man born out of a miracle, who walks on water, turns bread into fish, dies and comes back. Suuuuuuure. That's just as plausible. All crap. All of it. As to Michael Sam. I have no issues with him at all. Takes a strong PERSON to do what he did. As for the Dolphins "needing" him, I think that's a stretch. If I'm Michael Sam I'm looking at the Dolphins and thinking "thanks but no thanks." And it would clearly be a PR move by Miami to go "See, we're not a bad organization." And honestly, the last thing Sam needs is this place screwing up his future.

I was bullied almost to the point of suicide when I was a kid... and it had nothing to do with religion or homosexuality. Bullying happens every day for all types of reasons. Bullying over homosexuality is only a small percentage. Bullying is the MUCH larger issue... and the one you should be focused on.

As far as my religious beliefs, I'm entitled to them... just as you are entitled to your own religious beliefs and beliefs on homosexuality. I would never judge someone for homosexuality, nor force my beliefs on them. I sin a lot, lol. But in the same regard, I don't believe that those who disagree with my views should force their beliefs upon me either. What I believe personally doesnt effect others... just as people being gay doesn't effect me.

I'm an atheist, but religion is not the root of all evil. It can be misused and corrupted but everything can, like money, love, charity, etc. The problem is that people can be evil.

There's nothing wrong with believing in a higher power, a god, a force, a light or whatever. The problem is when people try to force their beliefs on to others...and that goes both ways. Treating gays horribly because you don't believe in their attractions is awful. Treating religious people horribly because you don't believe in their faith is pretty bad too though. I get it, the faithless are far outnumbered by the faithful so it feels like we're constantly surrounded by the opposition and that makes us defensive. But not all of them are actually the opposition. Most are just regular people who are willing to be open minded and have live and let live mentality just as we (the faithless) should.

I just think for progress to happen, we should only fight the aggressive and only fight them for being aggressive not because of what they believe.

I hope those bastards got theirs Bro.

I know that bullying happens for different reasons not all pertaining to religion or homosexuality, but the point of me telling that story is to show you how it can start from religion or misinterpretations by humans who follow the book, and fester into something tragic..

It was very clear that this 11 year old child was adamant that it was a sin and wrong, and her and her classmates had targeted another 11 year old who they all thought was what they thought was gay, the way she described the child he was someone who had no choice, wearing something pink and playing with things that are associated with girls is something that he just enjoyed..

Would like to hear from some people that know about the religious school system, and if I may ask,??, is telling young children that homosexuality is a sin and wrong part of the cirriculum?

Since this was the only thread with actual questions that popped up amidst your flaming me, this is the only thing I'll bother responding to. If you read back, DJ and others were the first to mention God...I didn't say a single thing about religion until they brought it up. Specifically, I was responding to DJ's comment that "God made you gay."

If you don't want to hear about Christian views, then that's perfectly fine...but spreading lies about God and the Bible to fit worldly views is an entirely different thing. I wasn't forcing a thing on anyone; it was forced on me and I corrected it.

In Matthew 19:1-9, Jesus was asked specifically about divorce by the Pharisees. Jesus quoted Genesis 1:27, which summarized that God made man and woman to be joined together as one.

In John 5:46-47, Jesus states that Moses wrote about his him and his wishes in the Old Testament. In case you didn't know, Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, which is Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and the one homosexuals so desperately want to ignore- Leviticus.

Jesus also makes numerous references to God destroying of the towns Sodom and Gomorrah, which were both towns overrun with prostitutes, homosexuals and sexual deviants. It's mentioned in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Jude.

For example, here's Jude 1:7- In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
