If he's healthy Oden. But I've always been one of the few who defended Pritchard for taking Oden over Durant because a potentially great C > anything else. You can't teach height. But health with Oden health is always the issue it seems unfortunately.

As for Turner, again context. No one knows how he will perform in a situation where he doesn't have to be the lead dog drawing the other teams best defenders. When players get traded and their roles will clearly change I've always subscribed to the idea that it's best to throw out the old numbers because if situations and circumstances aren't identical then how much weight do those statistics hold? None. Part of trading for a player is envisioning his role and how he helps your team. If Evan Turner has to be a lead dog, then you're right, he's going to be very average. If he's playing 3rd or 4th fiddle to George, Hibbert west Stephenson etc then he will be a good solid contributor.

    Agree to diagree then.

Turner just doesn't do anything well enough to suggest he'll become more proficient by simply playing less minutes and with more talented players.

This move only looks decent because Granger has not looked good since coming back from injury. Aside from that, Pacers need perimeter shooting to complement their bigs and just traded their best hope of that, for a player who is not a perimeter scorer and is incredibly inconsistent.

Granger gave them what they needed on their short rotation. Turner types they already have, and Turner is far more inefficient than any of them. It would have made more sense to trade Granger for a similar perimeter scorer.

I don't think this upgrades their chances on beating the Heat one bit.

If there is one thing that Evan Turner does well..is rebound at SG.

If you think that the only reason Miami overcomes their rebounding numbers is because of Lebron James, then you are not paying attention.

    here is a hint....REBOUNDING DIFFERENTIAL DOESN'T MATTER.

Another Hint...The Heat was an ELITE rebounding team in 2010-11. LOST in the Finals. TERRIBLE in 11-12' and 12-13'. WON BOTH Titles. Figure it out.

As for Evan Turner..I was a fan of his for a while..and finally gave up when told to give up at the beginning of this year.

he is a Net Negative on most lineups..but he is clearly better than Granger. So if Granger was going to play minutes...then Turner will help.

But the key here is that Turner can never play with George and Lance at the same time because that gives them a horrific ball handling wing setup, and George can't play PF go small.

So Turner is a strict 2nd unit backup to Lance and a bridge for George. In other words, non-impactful minutes.

The move for them to make was Morrow, or Hamilton...those two would have cracked the impactful minutes category.

You do realize you were a miracle play away from being eliminated by Indiana right???

Thinking Miami will win is reasonable, but claiming their top 8 isn't close or acting like there is some huge gap in talent is very laughable.

    Talking about the Lebron layup?

Sure...a Layup by the best player in the world is a MIRACLE..but a 40 foot three by Paul George and a Phantom foul on another 40 foot three to force overtime wasn't....

    FOH.

and yes..the average margin of victory for the Heat, each time the Series was tied vs. Indy was 17.3 ppg.

That was as lopsided a 7 game series as you can get.

Turner has been the absolute furthest thing from a plus defender nor is he very athletic. I like the trade for Indiana. He can be a pretty decent all around player in the same mold as Stephenson (when he's motivated and not being a jackass. Maybe that happens on the best team in the league) and gives them insurance for him in the offseason

On the other side, along with the Hawes trade, Philly guarantees a spot as one of the 2 worst records in the league. And they have 6 second round picks. Good move towards getting this team out of mediocrity and building a future.

    Lol, okay.

You were the better team undoubtedly, but if you were THAT much better you would've never faced elimination. 2 bad coaching blunders kept that series alive, and credit too Miami for taking advantage of that...but Miami didn't overpower Indiana and certainly didn't overpower SA. You found ways too win.

We never faced elimination versus Indiana till game 7. Your memory of that series is all ****ed up.

and YES...beating them by an average of 17.3 ppg each time the series was tied at 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3 is the very definition of OVERPOWERING.

If it's 3-3 are you not facing elimination?? Yes you are. And the point remains, Miami by far didn't dominate that series. And again, Roy Hibbert is in the paint? Miami loses the series.

in the NBA..you have these things called "inflection" games in a 7 game series. It is RARE for any team to dominate those and especially when there are 3 of those games in one series. Heat managed THREE blowouts.

Did you not read my ****ing post?

and it doesn't work that way. Series don't work as monoliths. If they lose that game..they likely then win game 2.

We can play that same game. A Bull**** foul in Game 2 doesn;t happen and Indiana is DOWN 3-0 going into game 4, and then lose in 5. See how that works?

This is really easy for me since I have the facts on my side.

and it gets better...without a whole series of questionable calls/officiating in game 4...and the Heat SWEEP.

See...we can do this both ways. But sure..a LAYUP is a miracle. LOL

Facts are facts. "7 game series" implies a close series in the Macro sense. But we were alive to see it and analyze it.

Heat won vs the Spurs, but that series was more of a TIE and IMO the Spurs played better. Now..THAT series..the Heat "found a way". Versus the Pacers..the Heat just blew them off the floor each time the series was tied and they never trailed during it.

What the hell do you call it when you are NEVER IN DANGER of TRAILING in the series?

I call it domination. and it is.

We beat them with Wade providing almost nothing.

And 2 years ago when Indy talked crap about taking us 6 Bosh played 1 quarter.

If Wade is healthy Indy might not win 2 games

And I think it will be a good series, I REALLY hate Indiana so sadly I'll be rooting for some more of these funny statements.

Yeah and if that Wade had been available games 1-6 there would have been no game 7

Pacers were kept in it by "verticality" which no one had ever heard if until it was decided that Hibbert could foul at will

Wade was great in game 7...but I was there...what beat Indiana was an avalanche of scoring the Heat put up late in the 2nd and early 3rd quarter that overwhelmed Indiana. Indiana is a wonderful defensive team, but no substitute for freakish shooting that the Heat have and that is why when the Heat got nervous in that series..blowouts happened.

I am not pulling this out of my ***...that series was as lopsided a 7 game series can be.

If you want to argue that the Spurs were better than us in our 7 game series...sure...we got the trophy..but they probably played better than us overall. That was a 7 game series where only Home Court advantage was the deciding factor. Spurs had Home Court? they win in 7.

As for the deadline...I really like the Wizards now...they can scare people..including the Heat. Can they take 2 games from Miami? If they are completely healthy..Maybe. Before this latest deal..it was 5 and done. Now the Heat will have to work a little. As for the Nets..they missed on Jordan Hill...had they gotten Hill...whoa...another team that can take 2 from Miami or Indy. Thornton is a nice pickup anyway and a Heat killer.

Oddly enough..the Bulls had assets and got nothing for them. That front office sucks.

YET...we get caught in a switch with Itty Bitty Norris Cole guarding Kevin ****ing Durant 40 feet from the basket..and they hit him with a touch foul for three free throws.
