*sends out press release* "Kirk Cousins is our starting Quarterback. He's earned a shot to be the man and we are confident that he can take the Washington Redskins deep into the playoffs. Our goal is to build around him with the best talent available."
What in the hell has gotten into you guys...are you even using your brains? David Harris is scheduled to make 4.9 million this year, and you're up to 8? Some of these bid are nonsensical.
Someone can have Chris Clemons for a 7th at this point. At least be guaranteed to get him since there won't be sh-t for pass rushers in FA after they're tagged.
The force is strong in this one. Yeah, as of my latest calculations, the average cap number per team was a shade under $103m. Which means half of you have over $27m in cap room. I think that's what it means... although that doesn't sound right... it sounds good... but not right. I did so well in college statistical analysis too...
Well I won't get into the part I don't like..........cause of course I'm going to work the angle if it's going to be allowed to exist. We will see how it plays out.
Right. Figured cutting him made more sense then wasting time trying to trade him...guess I threw away a potential 5th #badGMing
BTW, this is the most annoying experience ever. For next year, i think the dead bid period should be 12 hours, not 24. It's a ridiculous amount of time. There should be no reason why someone cant get here over 12 hour period.
Fino got Boik pretty good this morning... 7 or 8 minutes I believe. Two terms to know moving forward, for the first timers... If your "schisno'd" that means you were minutes away from getting your free agent as you had the highest bid, but along came another GM to outbid you just in time... If your "BK'd" that means you were within a few picks of drafting the player you really wanted, only to see him snatched from your draft card as you are preparing to write it up (u might have even included a nice write up already in draft form, complete with pictures and youtube videos). Generally, the later in the draft, the more weight the "BK" carries. (side note, it has nothing to do with the term bukkake, although the recipient of the BK might actually prefer that instead...)
It moves faster once FA starts b/c people wont want their 5 bids tied up for so long and b/c there will be a lot more to bid on. 12 hours would probably make Free Agency fly by. Not to mention, if you hypothetically have the high bid at 10 am and close the computer down at 9:45 PM still with the high bid, you could conceivably wake up and be in a rush to poop, get your coffee started, and send the kid off to school, not necessarily in that order, and then turn on the computer at 9:47 AM only to infuriatingly see someone else has already signed your player.
Plus 12 hours isn't fair. It opens at midnight. Its not fair to expect everyone to get in between midnight and noon. One or two teans could have snatched up everyone by then.
Two years ago we let teams cut players at 550K or under (min bid was $450K at the time I think) People would bid $450K on players then schisno would snipe them for $501K... then he'd just cut them afterwards if he won them. People would get SO pissed at him for that. That's why we changed it to only min bids could be cut/retracted.
The lesson is to make your bids count and show that you really mean it. Rules can't be perfected until they've been tried out.
I can't if I'm retired. and to schisno is to wait exactly until the very last minute to put in a minimum bid, it's the sweetest sixty seconds you could ever imagine.
@lacanglazer rumor out of Seattle is that Pete Carroll is chomping at the bit for a certain receiver at the 2nd overall pick, yet Detroit is holding him hostage at #1 overall. #MattMillenBackInMoTown
Next year we need to change this midnight stuff. 9 PM Eastern on a Sunday is good enough. Trying to stay awake for early bids.
