****, finally someone who is willing to tell it like it is about the franchise without all the mealy-mouthed bull**** of trying to save face.

    LEADERSHIP.

    That's what's lacking.

So, that begins with leveling some criticism of the men supposedly leading the team. Starting with the head coach.

Yeah, cause no one has pointed out leadership issues with the team up to this point. Feel free to go out and grab some fresh air guys ;)

Um considering the stories we've heard of the cowboys locker room, im not sure JJ's opinion on locker rooms should carry all that much weight. Michael Irving says hi.

Jimmy won games. If Philbin has gone 10-6 and made the playoffs things would be much different.

I think the most telling quote is from Herman Edwards who did not allow his players to pick the leadership council. “You never let the players do that,” Edwards said off air Thursday. “It’s like giving them keys to the candy store.”

Given the inexperience of Philbin I think its reasonable to allow a Mulligan on that point and I think Ross is doing that.

Yeah, it would be waaaaasy better if there was rampant drug use and stabbings.

I just picture Irvin doing cocaine with strippers Saturday night every game throughout the 90s.

Players quitting, team sabotage, locker room dysfunction, front office infighting, bad GM, bad OC, worst OL, spineless HC coach, how does all that add up to 8-8?

Yes, neither of those things inherently entailed attacking the concept behind a team.

Maybe philbin should have gone 1-15 and 7-9 his first two years, then maybe some the fans here would be happy.

Rules of the game. It has become a game that is heavily dependent on chance and randomness. The Cincinnati Bengals don't even have a real scouting department, and they've consistently been average.

Not to mention there are a lot of teams that have many of the issues you're citing. Infighting, and incompetent individuals to some degree are present in the majority of businesses.

And yet Jimmy won 8 games in his first two years while Philbin has won 15.

Of course, nothing screams a team first attitude like one team mate stabbing another team mate in the neck!

That stuff was off the field though. Not saying Irving was a great guy but all of his ex Teamates talk about his leadership and how he helped get everyone prepared for games and kept everyone playing hard. The guy is a HOF douchebag but also a HOF player. Incognito is a guy with a career that barely deserves the gum from a football card pack. It goes to show that when you are winning no one cares. Lawerence Taylor is also another legendary dbag but he won so no one cares. You think if we had somehow someway won the Superbowl this year that anyone would even care about the Wells report? The league would have shoved it under the rug.

Lets see....bring in Jason Taylor and Dan Marino ......or keep Aponte, Hicks and Philbin......Ross is an idiot.

I agree with you. That's why I say if we beat the Bills or Jets most of these stories aren't even being written. Instead it woulda been Philbin the great coach overcoming adversity to lead his team to the playoffs. The exact opposite of what's being reported now and probably just as far from the truth.

He's a bad coach either way. My point is that it isn't going to prevent the team from going 8-8.

What does hiring Jason Taylor and Dan Marino have to do with Aponte, Hickey and Philbin? Is JT going to be the GM and Marino the head coach? Maybe the other way around?

I do wish they would hire these guys to help bring credibility back but that has nothing to do with the other 3.

I'm not saying he's a good coach, I'm saying with all our alleged issues it's hard to see how we went 8-8 unless lots of other teams had similarly debilitating issues.

If we had put other people in charge the rest of them wouldn't be here, thats the point. Do you honestly believe we have a contending caliber front office with this group? I mean you can't seriously believe that?

So does this make resigning Grimes imperative not only for his play but the leadership presence?

Jimmy Johnson was a proven winner as a head coach before Dallas. He took over a worse situation from a talent standpoint. He deserved more leeway. Philbin was never a head coach before at any level. High School, college, or pro.

Hes in denial. Its one of the classic stages of grief. He just needs to cry a little and he'll be fine.
