Restructuring Suh allowed me too add Michael Johnson. Why does this matter? It doesn't, just a shameless plug.
I think we could get control with a couple simple moves. Restructure only 25%, Re-sign I would scrap all together. Some of us got away with nice bargains. No way do I get away with Garrett for $600k in free agency. More players available in FA the better. And with the cap going up significantly a 20-25% dead cap on first player transaction should only help curb inflation from a $140 million plus cap.
The Oakland Raiders welcome Jimmy Graham and Shaun Phillips to the squad... as well as recently acquired Corey Liuget.
Cards welcome newly signed WR Austin Pettis and are glad to have T Eric Winston back for another year.
Creating a little block of late round picks. Got 3 of the top 4 picks in the 6th. May move a couple of those off later.
If we do a cap hit, I think it should be standardized so that the dead money doesn't hurt the teams even worse who start out heavily cap strung and in need of creating space compared to teams who start out well under the cap and don't really need to cut anyone. Should be some sort of sliding scale to where the greater your initial cap space, the greater the dead money you incur, and the less your initial cap space, the less dead money incurred. That would be more fair and would prevent GM's from being discouraged to sign up for cap strung teams.
Its actually not that hard to work around. June First cuts alleviate 2 awful contracts and teams have roll over cap so you have a decent number to work with. The only thing you don't see is like 85% rosters getting cut. Fairly large amount of trades still occur.
when i looked at his stats and i watched quite a few vikings games over the last few years, i figured for the league minimum, why not? I could cut him...maybe he and JMart can go to rehab together
How about this then, how about allowing a way to restructure if the player's total salary for that specific year is higher than the average of all his years? Take Mike Wallace for instance. What was he this year, 17.2M? That's insane. That's 5.0M higher than his average. In those instances, the GM should have the opportunity to get the salary down to the average, and perhaps suffer a one day FA bidding penalty for it. But it would have to be something that each GM would be responsible for, as in- he would have to monitor his own team and do his own contract research, and if he finds one contract he wants to restructure to the average then he may do so. That's about as far as I would go with it.
he really failed to show up for the Ravens when Pitta went down last year. The Bills are hoping he can blossom and reach his potential.
Here's part of the discussion a month ago in the Winter Team Meeting VOTE #1 thread, or least what I myself hypothesized might happen:
Flacco's problem last year was that when he dropped back to pass, he didn't have Anquan Boldin to throw to. With Boldin, he knew if he threw it anywhere near him, he'd come down with the ball, didn't matter how well he was covered. There aren't too many receivers in the league that you can count on like that.
He got too comfortable with that ability and threw INTs all over the place last season. Sure he lost Boldin but that is something that I was saying since the playoffs where they won the super bowl. Flacco only got there because of the amazing plays Boldin had, so I decided to move away from him to a qb who throws less INTs. I just need a decent qb with few to no errors with the plan I have in mind
Plus it didn't help that he was also without Pitta and without Jacoby Jones for half the year, nor helped that the ground game dropped off the face of the planet which impacted the play-action/vertical game to some degree which is a big part of the offense. Difficult to suck a defense in when your running game averages a league worst 3.1 YPC. I think Seabass did a great job addressing the line woes.
Omg sorry LMAO just woke up and using a touchscreen. Anyway Thomas tore his ACL two straight seasons before coming back and playing a full season last year. Hes strong in run support and had five INTs in back to back years before his injuries.
Woohoo Eagles finally get their first 2 signings WR Andre Roberts for the minimum and RT Roger Saffold to complete our offensive line.
STOLE Saffold. His versatility is a huge asset, he can play anywhere on the OL at a high level. Hope Miami snags him.
Yeah it was between Arenas and Thomas for me. I wanted a guy who was better in run support since I have three really solid corners already. You got a hell of a deal and I loved your Ginn signing too.
Had I known the neglect of many gm's as far as the silent resigning bids. Saffold would still be a Ram. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Jags would like to welcome Franchise DT Henry Melton to the defensive line. Melton is a premier inside pass rusher and at only 27 years of age, will be great paired with former first round pick Tyson Alualu in the middle. Along with Justin Tuck and Andre Branch, the defense went from little to no pass rusher, to a pretty good one in just a few days of free agency.
Miami Dolphins welcome safety Major Wright. With Kevin Coyle's tutelage, we believe he'll do great things in our secondary. (I'll add him on roster when Im in front of a desktop)
