Either way it's an exhaustive amount of work for Paul. I'll talk about it with him and we will take the course deemed most reasonable.
You would be erasing a week. You guys act like its a month. Plus the trades don't HAVE to be re-done. Only if both sides want them to. I'm offering suggestions that don't need to be listened to. I will say a full month with absolutely nothing going on is a lot. People aren't really trading. Only a few UFAs are left. It's just a holding period until mid April. That type of break tends to kill interest heading into the draft.
Paul has all the original FA lists. It'd be a lot less work in my eyes. Going through the trades and cut players would take the longest.
Appreciate the ideas. Pauls going to have to make a decision on how he wants to handle it since he's running things. I'll support what decides since he's been doing a great job. Hopefully the majority can agree. Also if anyone else has an idea...fire away
Sorry but if we restart FA I'm done. Compile a list of guys that have been signed and reset those that haven't, even if they have bids
We could start solving this problem by creating a thread with everyone posting their FA signings to date [in positional hierarchy working from QB down]. That way we can go back to the FA positional threads to quickly verify the dollar amounts. Or we could have each GM post their signings in the pertaining positional threads. For example, I'd post Geoff Schwartz, Chad Rinehart, and Jonathan Goodwin and their salary amounts in the Oline thread. Then from there we could form a list to put back up in the opening post. Then we could run through the threads to verify the salary.
To continue, I made trades and cuts based on FA signings. So its jusy unfair unless we reset everything whuch would still suck balls.
I suggested to reset everything up to UFA starting which is a week ago. Keep the tags, tenders, and re-signs. Treat this as an opportunity to try new ideas such as unlimited bidding or something.
not everyone lives on the board 247 how was i suppose to know an updater was going to put in an illegal bid so close to him being mine. he didnt put in the right amount for a bid and i didnt get a chance to come back ontil it was too late. its bs man bs.
well, it'd be a start and would make it easier to narrow down each positional thread. After GMs post their players, we'd run through each deleted post to see if that player being bid on is on the gathered master list. If he is, the post remains deleted. If he isn't, the post gets reopened. From there it'd be a lot easier to track who won whom. Give me mod duties in this forum and I'll take on half of it.
By doing it my way and having each GM make a list of the players he signed, if the player remains unopposed, then we know the signing is ok. From there, all we need to do is work backward to verify the dollar amount. If the player is opposed [which shouldn't need to happen], then we'd know exactly who to track through the thread to see who actually won him.
What if any player with an active bid in the 24 hours before the incident is a FA but anyone signed before that stays on the team they are with
Lets start with posting who was won as of Saturday and who was an active bid as of Saturday (if you can remember): http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?81282-Please-Post-FA-Signings-to-Date-Here
not fair to restart FA from the beginning, plus i'd reassign the Saints and tag Graham just to piss Greg off..... I think the best thing to do, is what Todd suggested, rebuild the threads.. i'll post the positional listing from when FA started. I think the time of the purge should be locked right now... as in any bids active at that time (it was around 1:30am 3/9/14) are going to be active once we get this thing going again. Any bids placed since then, can remain in effect, but the 24 hour clock won't start until everything is back to how it was. Does that make sense? Probably not, I'm sleep deprived at the moment. Can barely see straight.. supposed to be working from home as well... doh...
When you get a chance just please post them in the thread http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?81282-Please-Post-FA-Signings-to-Date-Here If I can undelete 1000+ posts so that people can verify stuff thats the least everyone else can do. And no the select all button wasnt working on firefox
If a bid was in a thread that wasn't updated at the time, and it was an opening 495k bid, then those shouldn't have to go back to being active. Those bids should be business as usual b/c nothing affected them and anyone could've bid on those players had they wanted to.
yeah the select all button doesn't work for me either (in Chrome), I would have already done that if it did ... Hey I appreciate everyone and their help... We'll get this thing fixed up as soon as we can... just look of it as a way to fill the gap between FA and the draft .
I'm probably not making myself clear. Just go back 24 hours from when the purge happened... all of those bids are either open or succeeded by another higher bid (taking it's place in the active bid list)... any other bids (from 24 hours and prior to the start of free agency) are either beaten by a higher bid, or signed to a team. So in terms of rebuilding the active bid list, that's how I would do it... now the bid won / signed player list is going to depend on manually verifying each team's list that they post... if they don't have one (and it's likely that some of you don't, but hopefully not many), that's going to take some time to build their signed player list. This will be the hardest part... I'll handle the cut player / signed cut player list.
Oh quit Your Whining...You had 24 Hours To Ask A Question If You Were Unsure. You Saw The Updated Bid And You Knew Psg Was The High Bid. If You Thought It Was Wrong Why Didn't You Ask. Also, Not being Able To Check Your Bids For More Than 24 Hours Is Your Own Fault....
Hes also a baby who took his ball and went home just to ruin everyone elses good time. Good riddance to him. He wanted to act like a brat, he got treated like one. Im frankly surprised and disappointed that he felt the need to do what he did and act how he acted. Being the originator doesnt mean you get to circumvent the rules of the game or change them as you go along. And you certainly dont get to ruin everyone elses good time.
This. I kind of knew he was an *** when I wanted to make a trade with him, asked if he had interestb in a player (at a position he needed) and instead of negotiating he basically told me to f*** myself. Anyone here who has dealt wuth me knows if you dont like myboffer I'm 100% willing to change it up. I wouldn't have made so many trades by being a stubborn a**hat.
Don't worry about it alex. Or anyone else. Go about your day...the league will be fine and we will fix it back up.
I was inquiring about his ILBs and whether he'd move one, told me he needed a RT, asked if he'd like David Stewart back in a deal and he more or less acted superior and treated me like crap
