I love the guy you PM about a mid level guy then he replies, "no one on your roster interests me".... For kicks I PM'd him back asking if he wanted to discuss Robert Quinn, ofcourse he replied back he was interested. Maybe people just like sounding condescending.
well, I mean, no one will trade Quinn for a mid level guy. I get that. There have been times where I liked a team's top players but nothing after that.
If so wouldn't you reply...."I like your top players, but nothing after that"?? Especially when I'm pretty sure my roster would be favored by 14 when matched up.
I'm not saying the two are correlated. I'm saying the guy is a grade A dick and there is nothing you can say to change that. Noone who isn't does what he did and bombs the threads
No he's not the only one who found Greg to be that way because I've heard it from a few different people over the years.
That's cool and fine. Its another thing to go on a rant about "Why would I want that player back blah blah blah" after you stated his posiyion is a need and such. Iy may be back handed to call him an *** now that he's gone but he didn't mind back handing 31 other guys here....er...30.. Todd sonehow managed to land a GM job with two franchises
It is, because even though we only did one minor deal I know you aren't an *** so I was able to approach you about others. Nothing clicked but who knows what could have come up.
SG said he would trade Brees for Geno Smith. He told me he loved Geno in a PM that he would absolutely agree to that trade straight up. So I can play acting GM for the Saints to complete the trade. Cool?
See? In all seriousness though you've been easy to deal with so I can say it isn't on you. Every time we've talked a trade whether it worked or not it was professional. You can say we don't need to be professional, it isn't real and so on but IMO its just about mutual respect.
I know it wasn't on me. I told him I had an interest in Jahri Evans and gave him a broad list of players I was willing to work with if any of them interested him. He can back with a callous reply. End of story. From that moment I thought he was somewhat of a dick and seemed like someone who had little interest in the league. Agree about the mutual respect thing.
It's very hard for me to even remotely trash someone's character who I've worked with for a long while.
I don't want you to man. I respect that. I participated in your GM Leagues in the past and you did a great job and I never had a problem with him either. Just understand we are kind of being asses towards him because: A) He did something pretty f'd up. B) Its slow here now so we can't even walk away and be busy.
You dont have to, nor does anyone else. He did that for himself. I think growing up we all knew someone who had a cool game system or some kind of game we didnt have. Eventually you or someone you know was able to beat that person regularly. The kid then took his ball and stormed off never to be heard from again. Thats basically what Greg did. The only one who escalated the situation was Greg. I read the PM's so i can tell you that factually and you know he was asked to update it.
No, Greg was upset so he took his ball and didnt want anyone else to play with the toy when the game wasnt going the way he wanted to
I'm glad all my FA moves were done and over with before Greg has his PMS fit. And glad were not going through the bs of starting FA over. The deals happened because of 2 things. Players let them happen and we had inactive teams through a lot of free agency. I never had all 4/5 bids in play at a time. I just let em slide by because I didn't want said player on my roster and who am I to hold it against a team for nabbing a deal on a player.
....You know what? Maybe we should divide cap and put all of his squad in FA? All joking aside, I didn't even know about this until today.
actually we could have a contraction draft (as opposed to an expansion draft). The Saints get dissolved, and the rest of the league gets to bid on them.. I guess that's not a draft but free agency... meh.... each team would get $10m extra cap room to do what they see fit.. shall I go on?
It's called a dispersal draft, god, moron! (that was tongue in check, internet, lack of tone, etc, ya know)
What if we did a contraction draft with the same order as the original NFL draft..but if you dont have the cap space (including picks) then you cant add said player. Would recreate some trading and player movement which will in turn keep some people more interested
Do you hate the idea of someone getting Blake bortles or jadaveon clowneys for free? How is that any different other then they're established and carry a huge cap hit. And you can't restructure at this point so someone would have to make moves of they want brees.
could add the Saints players to the current collegiate player pool for the draft. And their current contracts would carry over...
