We need Safety's that can communicate. That's half their job. Corners let their man go thinking they have help over the top and you get wide open receivers converting on 3rd and 19. Delmas had a good year last year and started 15 games had 3 int's. I think Rashad will have a better year and Jamar Taylor will see more playing time. I really think this secondary is on it's way. The probem will be if they never get off the field because we're getting gashed with the run up the middle. At this point I think LB and DT are our biggest needs. Sign Starks and the best FA LB around.
I know everybody here can google for themselves, but it's interesting how many hits come up for "Louis + Delmas + Leadership." There were 461,000 hits. I had to plug in about half a dozen football names before I got someone with more hits. Pretty unscientific, I know, but fans and writers alike seem to be high on this guy's abilities as a player and leader. As finwin says directly above, communication is important. Here's a little thing from Detroit's website about Delmas: http://www.detroitlions.com/news/ar...at-sheet/5f8a08cc-f155-4135-8837-f3d59492b122
Hope he can stay on the field and last season wasn't just for a contract. "(His impact) was real on the field," said Lions head coach Jim Schwartz. "It was real this week in practice. It was real in the locker room before the game, in pregame warm-ups. He's just that kind of guy. He's got personality; he's got great ability. He's just a good player."
I'm not sure if it was already mentioned but he played high school ball in North Miami as well, he's back home.
Go watch his mic'd up games on YouTube before you start blabbing away about his lack of leadership. Troll
