Re: Branden Albert expected to sign with Dolphins In other news, Jonathan Martin farted. Blames organization for faulty bowel movement. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
"Jonathan Martin is a victim of being forced to consume meals that caused him unacceptable bowel movements" was released in a statement today by Martin's agent. Recent text messages to his parents reveal Martin's struggle with the cafeteria staff. "I don't know how to communicate with the line cooks. I ask them to cook my meat well done, yet the insist on serving it to me pink. I'd ask them to stop, but I'm scared they will spit in my food." Shocked and reeling on the heels of Bullygate, the Dolphins are getting ready to deal with what is being coined Buffetgate. Embattled team owner Stephen Ross has vowed to get the bottom of this latest scandal, putting together a committee of Emeril Lagasse, Martha Stewart, that dude from Chopped, and the Taco Bell dog to advise in creating a better dining experience in Miami, Fl.
Re: Branden Albert expected to sign with Dolphins Good lord. That is outstanding, sir. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
This is a move we had to make. It gives us flexibility in the draft, if we hadn't landed a sure fire starter at the LT position in free agency we would basically be forced into drafting one in the first round. Now we can have a little flexibility to go DT, S, CB, maybe another Tackle or a guard as well. I'm sure we overpaid but it is what it is, we had to make a big move early on a tackle.
When the Dolphins announce their deal with T Branden Albert tomorrow, he will end up getting $10M/season. Quite a haul
Totally agree. Had to lock up that position even if we have to play a little more than we want. Really gives us a lot more flexibility in the draft too which I love. Some exciting players can be had on the cheap this year.
Saw somewhere that LaConfora is reporting a deal is already in place worth $10M/year. I think it was with CBS Sportline. Sorry, no link. Was just perusing net and didn't save link.
Mehh, 10 million a year is a lot but when you desperately need help and you're getting a good player you have to bite the bullet.
Branden Albert expected to sign with Dolphins Big need filled. Gotta pay for a player in the top half of the league at this position.
We have the money and with the cap expanding next year and us having the cap space this year it makes sense to get a huge position of need.
https://twitter.com/TerezPaylor/status/443188257514209280 sources confirm #Chiefs guard Geoff Schwartz will not return to KC. soooo...two new starters straight from the chiefs? Anybody else absolutely loving that idea?
The Miami Herald breaks down Alberts strength and weaknesses. Its worth a read . [h=3]What Dolphins are getting in Branden Albert;[/h] Read more here: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/sports-buzz/#storylink=cpy
Brandon Albert started following these NFL players on twitter today: Ryan Tannehill, Brent Grimes, Lamar Miller and Louis Delmas.....
Schwartz played about games worth of snaps at LG, but in 3 separate games at LG. 9 at RG. That was the only time in his career he played on the left side, and it was limited. 113 snaps at LG. Jeff Allen was their regular LG.
Branden Albert expected to sign with Dolphins Don't be too disappointed, there's a lot we might not know. All things equal I want Monroe too, and I'm a little disappointed. That said he's young, in his prime, and got traded for peanuts, and is going to hit FA. Teams don't let Young stud LT's hit FA without a reason. He could have issues, physically or character that we don't know about. Or maybe he's a malcontent, or has a place in mind that he wants to sign. We need high-character guys and leaders. This signing brings a veteran presence into the locker room for an OL that had it captain suspended, it's tackle leave the team, and it's pro-bowl center tied to drug use. Alberta a bit long in the tooth, but he's good, and if he can help lead this team, I'm all for it.
Tampa has signed DE Michael Johnson for just over 8m per year, if not tagged I believe he would've been a Dolphin last offseason. Our backup plan? Dion Jordan... Let's hope he progresses.
Andrew Abramson @AbramsonPBP 3h Another free agent Twitter clue? KC guard Geoff Schwartz started following several Giants beat writers (and a Rams beat writer)
Also Michael Silver @MikeSilver 11m Right now a battle is shaping up between the Giants and Rams for Geoff Schwartz's (non-bargain) services. Will someone else get in? Doesn't look like Schwartz is coming to Miami.
That's too bad, because Schwartz would have been a nice pickup. I guess they're looking for a 2nd tier guy....maybe Beadles or Shelley Smith?
I'm not getting too high or low on any of these FA's that we are going to pick up. Honestly I was really excited about Clabo coming in last season and that didn't pan out really well. I'm leary of Alberts health issues, he doesn't seem to be the most durable person.
That's why Saffold or Schwartz (to a lesser extent) would have been nice additions, because of their ability to move out to left tackle in the event that Albert gets injured. That will happen. I'm sure there could be a versatile option in the draft though (i.e.Martin).
Well if this is the definitive "Brandon Albert signed with the Dolphins" thread, where's the definitive "link" stating as much? Its now 11pm Tuesday PST, and I don't see any headlines, no statements made in reference to this signing conveyed in any past tense, nor any details of the contract, one which was supposed to be finalized today, clearly staring me in the face. WTF? If its official, and the ink IS dry, people are slackin!

Albert's going to be wearing #71, anything that makes us forget the last #71 quicker is all good. Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 40s First, it's his college number. But more importantly, "It just shows it's a new age of football here. ... Forget about the past."
