I don't understand what happened with Pryor, I liked what that kid did last year, and then they all of a sudden put mcgloin in.would like to sign Pryor to a backup deal if available.

Jets are as good as us, with Geno smith at Qb, haven't seen anything to prove that statement wrong..

Maybe if we get our head out our asses and realize this is a game of emotion, anger and team unity we might take a step forward..maybe if we had a great leader..

So you're saying that 1 of the top corners in the league is worth less than 6 million per? Based on that logic how badly did Miami overpay for Grimes?

he called you. he was trying to start a bidding war.

Ill be genuinely shocked if you go into the season with your corners as they are now

Apparently a text was sent to a Jets staffer and that's as fat as it went. All anyone needs to know is that he had a deal with NE 4 hours after he was released. What does that tell you?

And they will likely use the tag on him next year. It's kind of weird how a guy like Revis would not seek a long term deal. He could have easily received 3 years 34 million but the guy is after every dime and I expect him after a great year next year, he will want 14-15 million a year again and the Patriots will just tag him.

Sorry to see him go cause he was just entering his prime but we are fine at CB. Re-sign Patterson and take a developmental one like Carroll once was late in the draft and we are set. Probably got overpaid.

Decker caught 24 touchdowns in the last two seasons. 32 in the last three. Hartline has 10 in five years.

Bummer. Time for Taylor and Davis to get it done. Road's clear.

Would love to go after Steve Smith, what a boost to the offense. Smith is older but can still play. 745 yards, 4 TDs last year. Never gets into trouble. Hasn't had any serious injury since 2004. Won't cost a lot. James Jones wouldn't be bad either...but he doesn't really produce as much and would probably be more expensive since he's younger.

He would probably cost less than backup QB Matt Moore. Why is he making so much anyway? If Tannehill gets hurt and Moore comes in we're going 7-9 anyway. Don't need him, need someone who can start and make an impact.

A lot of that was a product of Manning throwing him the ball. I don't expect that kind of production out of him as a Jet. He's not a true #1 receiver. At least they didn't grossly overpay for him.

We used a second round pick on Taylor and third round pick on Will Davis. Uh yeah, they have to contribute. As I have said before, we are not going to build a team through free agency, it is impossible with the cap. Our mid round picks have got to begin to develop to round out our team. So players like Taylor, Davis and Dallas Thomas have got to step up. Second/Third round picks aren't throwaways, they are legitimate prospects that we need to depend on to contribute.

So good bye Carroll but I'm looking forward to the Davis/Taylor training camp battle.

Yeah. That seems like a small amount of money for a corner who wasn't bad last year and could improve.

He caught 8 touchdowns from the tag-team of Tim Tebow and Kyle Orton. And I mean, he went for 1300 and double digit scores even though Denver had 5 legit receiving tagets (Thomas, Thomas, Welker, Moreno). I dunno, I think that's a solid get for the Jets. Just as good as if it were Nicks, imo, at least Decker doesn't have the injury history. I'm not saying he's a #1, but he's definitely a step above Brian Hartline.

considering our backup qb will make double carroll's new salary, i think it was crazy of us not to match his new deal. eagles got a nice steal there.

I think it's a great signing for a fair price. Brian Hartline made 5y/30m/12.5g for one 1,000 yard season. And his career total TD's don't even match Decker's total from 2013, alone. I think NYJ got a good deal on a very good WR and a redzone playmaker.

Shelley Smith visiting the Dolphins. Ranked by PFF as 4th best run blocking guard, but 58th in pass protection. Still, would probably be an upgrade for us. And he could possibly improve in pass protection.

Yep they did get a great deal for Decker.. I don't think he's a #1 but they didn't pay him to be that.

Hope so! He will only get better next to pouncy and Albert.

Does he play left or right? Or interchanging?

What's noteworthy is that he got that grade in run blocking in 371 snaps, which a little bit more than 1/3rd of a normal season.

It was the owner that wanted no part of him. Give Rex his due. Guy can coach.

He's played both. I expect if we do sign him, which side he plays will depend on who the other guard starter ends up being.

Shelley Smith was in Houston under John Benton his first two years in the league. I think their familiarity with one another is a big plus. He is a young guy on the come. I could see us signing another Houston G, Wade Smith, as more of a 1-2 yr stopgap to man the other guard spot, or even perhaps Ryan Harris or Eric Winston to play RT who both have experience under Benton on a line that as a group was collectively a very effective unit, especially run blocking.

Smith would be a great addition. Our interior run blocking was putrid. Would be a welcomed player. I would sign him, then Dave Stewart who the Titans cut then get a guard in the draft either Martin in the first round or the samoan from UCLA in the 2nd.
