Congrats on the thumbs. The isles have to start beating the eastern teams so u could be right. We still suck vs the east but need to start winning if we're going to move up. Should be a good gm. Enjoy but hopefully not too much :)

isles recent domination of the west continues with Grabner's burst of speed winning goal against the avalanche. man that was some crappy ice in colorado. does colorado always play on such chippy ice? little home adavantage to play up the defense? lol.

btw poulin played a really nice gm guarding the net. no unnecessary flopping, very disciplined. he really has some potential. we may have our goalie of the future in the kid. wonder if we'll have the patience to find out or if we trade

anyways, isles in one serious groove right now. gotta keep it going

cant believe we won tonight. we had the energy of an eighty year old man with an oxygen tank. this team is playing some special, special hockey over the last few weeks. unbelievable. we have now won seven road games in a row, themost in the nhl this season and most of them against the west. have to keep it up, DeHaan played great tonight. Okposo had another two goal game [IMG]

103 penalty minutes between The Kings and Canucks tonight. Lots of hatred between these two teams and it came through big time tonight. Vancouver went into the box nine seconds in. And Sestito might have the funniest line I have ever seen in hockey.

    Time On Ice: 1 second
    Penalty Minutes: 22
    Game Misconduct: 1

    Sestito Hat-Trick?

awesome back to back series with philly. they got the extra point and thereby the small series. tough team. still the islanders have moved up to be only 2 1/2 gms out of the last wildcard. gotta keep it going. only 30 something games left. its weird but i feel more comfortable now being down heading into the 3rd period than being up with this crazy team lol

We need some healthy d men. Hamonic missed the last few with concussion symptoms. Visnovsky just started skating again. And they have a decision to make on A Mac who is a a FA and someone else will give him 4m per to be a 2nd pairing dman. Imo they need to try and flip him for a goalie and then try and acquire a different d man if they don't plan on resigning him.

agree on a mac. i dont think he's worth 4 mill but thats what he'll get. trade him now, preferrably for a goalie. viz should be back soon. thats gonna be huge. hamonic has his own concussion problem so it may be another couple of weeks. probably after the olympics we'll have everyone back

yawn....like ive said all season we need a goalie. We dont have one. We have an above average backup in Nabokov. Luckily the cap floor is getting raised this offseason. Resigning Vanek and getting Ryan Miller needs to be a real consideration. :)

:tantrum::cry:How do we keep giving these goals up while we're on the power play? We have to be the worst in the league at this.

We played the Ducks very tough IMO.

They actually are. After yesterday, they have given up 9 shorthanded goals, which is worst in the league.

USA over Russia in a shootout at the Olympics. Just a preliminary round but you have to think that the win might help keep US out of the Canada section of the semifinals. That was a great great game. These winter Olympics for hockey have become what the World Cup is for soccer. The greatest players in their sport going all out for their country. Fantastic.

I think the Kings players in the Olympics (Jeff Carter, Drew Doughty, Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar and Slava Voynov) have scored more in this preliminary round than the entire Kings team has during the last month of play.

effin sucks that the US (#2) and Canada (#3) are in the same bracket. While Sweden is the top seed and Finland is the #4 seed. Russia of course placed in the Sweden bracket albeit now having to play an extra game. No chance of a US v Canada final now :pity: I guess Sweden were ranked ahead of the US thanks to some obscure junior tournament victory... talk about getting a favorable group (while the US got Russia)... ugh. So the winner of US v Canada likely plays Russia in the finals I suppose.

  22. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Meh. Sweden can only play who is on their schedule. They did just that and beat every team in regulation. Which is more than what US and Canada did. And yes, while we had. To play Russia, we also got a severely underachieving Slovakian team and a first time Olympic squad in Slovenia. So it wasn't exactly murderer's row.

Also, let's not put the cart before the horse, either. Czech Republic is a good team and I assume that Laco will be in goal for Slovakia after he just blanked Russia. Either one of those teams can cause a problem for us.

Flyers absolutely THUMPED the Penguins yesterday, and it looks like that is continuing so far today.

I'm a little nervous after that first goal late in the 1st, but optimistic.

What a game! Down 4-2. score a goal, they pull Varlarmov with 2 min left, Eric Johnson makes a HUGE save that saved the game when the puck was headed in the empty net, stastny ties it up with 13 secs left, and he gets the game winner in OT!

Keith isn't even their "match up" dman. Oduya and Hjalmarsson are the match up pair, taking on the opponents best lines.

Weber and Chara are on the ice all the time against the opponents best players.

I would have voted Chara, Weber and Suter.
