    Kyle Fuller in the 3rd?

    No.

I'm confident that's not happening. And it won't be close.

Trade back. If we could pick up a 2nd or 3rd rounder that would be great as there are several spots that need to be addressed or upgraded including: OG, RT, TE, RB, ILB, CB, S, DT.

All three of these players are overrated.

I think the only reason people think ebron is top 10 bc eifert got drafted so high last year, but eifert didn't have as much draft talent in his draft. Ebron is good but he isn't the athlete Vernon Davis is. I'm not sure he has good hands or is a polished route runner. And I think you have to exclude the UM game from your memory, their defense is horrible.

He is the best receiving TE in the class but I'm not sure he is best overall. I don't think we need him at all

Or Niklas in the 2nd? :oldtoker:

He could help blocking for whomever our RT will be, either a rookie or aging Vet and provide a tall seam and redone threat

The comparisons to Vernon Davis don't make sense. Vernon Davis is a physical freak of nature like Javon Kearse or the like. He ran 4.3 40s. Ebron runs in the 4.5 to 4.6 range, which is good for a TE but hardly spectacular. Jimmy Graham, for example, is a 4.4 guy. Which is also fantastic for a player of his size. Ebron is a good player, and good TE's are difficult to find. How many teams have one? But at #19 overall? I'm not sure, and I think some team is going to overdraft him before we get the chance anyway.

I think I've made my feelings known on Martin - no reason at all to draft him, there are better tackle prospects if you want a tackle and better guard prospects if you want a guard. Drafting Martin because he might be the best player able to play either position is a fools errand.

CJ Mosley I don't think is overrated, he's a great instinctual ILB and would be an upgrade over Ellerbe, but I don't see why he'd even be on the Dolphins radar. We've got Ellerbe with rumors of him and Misi switching positions. MLB just isnt a need position for us, even though I think Mosley would be a clear upgrade.

Considering that Misi has never played there, and Ellerbe is a very mediocre MLB, I'd say it darned sure is a need position.

Brandin cooks all day and all night. His tape is ridiculous. I'd rather have him than Ebron. He would be tannehills favorite target out of the slot. Might have to trade up in front of the jets.

Amaro isn't worth a first round pick let alone a top 20 pick.

As far as this draft is concerned, if one of the top 4 T's don't fall to us we have a few options.

    1. We reach for the next echelon of T or the top Echelon of guard. Morgan Moses, or Cyrus Kouandjio, fit what we need but have some questions. A guy like Sua Filo would fit nicely as we still lack a starting guard. They would still be good picks but it would be a shame to take them over some of the talent that would still be on the board.

    2. We draft one of the DT's that will be there. We lost Soliai and I am not sure if Earl Mitchell will fill his spot well. Either way you can never have enough DT's to rotate in to keep people fresh! Rashede Hageman, Timmy Jernigan and Stephen Tuitt will be on the board and each could really solidify the middle of our D, making it easier for anyone who plays ILB for our team.

    3. We trade down..

    the poor house
I WANT Justin Gilbert because he plays special teams and can take it to the house on returns but i don't know which round he will go . I am betting that the first three picks will be offensive linemen and the 4 th or 5 th will be runningback or lnebackers

Gilbert goes in the 1st, likely before Miami's pick 19. He'd be a fine value pick at 19 if he were on the board and we took him though.

19 is a good spot to have someone talented fall to you ala Jason Pierre-Paul to the Giants.

I think he'll be gone as well. Not to be a broken record but...I'd be all over Kyle Fuller at 19. Will be bpa, imo. Really really like this player...and this is coming from a Canes fan...

The best player available pick at 19 should probably be Kyle Fuller. If not him, Allen Robinson.

The need-based pick at 19 should probably be Taylor Lewan (if he does fall) or Morgan Moses.

The wildcard will be Ryan Shazier, who may be THEIR best player available pick (as opposed to mine, who is likely to be Fuller).

If you're going to pick for need, you damn well better be sure you're getting what you think you're getting...and for that reason I think Moses could actually fit. You can't afford there to be any question about it. Moses played right tackle for three years under Bill Lazor and there's plenty of tape of him playing the position well. The only reason he didn't come on with the media until this year is the media tends to ignore right tackles even if they're playing really well (e.g. for the longest time the media couldn't shut up about Antonio Richardson and completely ignored JaWuan James).

Good teams turn 2nd-5th round OL picks into very good starters. Miami the last decade turns 1st rounders into good starters and 2nd-6th round picks into crappy rentals.

if we draft another CB in the top 3 rounds I will puke. You just invested in Davis which I thought since day 1 will be a bust, Taylor which i think can be a decent 2nd/3rd CB on a team and we have Grimes. sadly we need a top flight CB but man, it sure sucks being a Dolphins fan the past 20 years (dating back to drafting 10000000 RBs and all still sucking ***).

I won't, we need one. Hickey didn't draft Taylor or Davis, and he and Ireland both share some blame for the current weaknesses in the secondary, Ireland's 2 rookie corners made virtually no impact whatsoever so they are complete question marks coming into this season and Hickey let Nolan Carroll go after he finally comes into his own and then to make matters worse he replaced him with broke down Cortland Finnegan.

LB don't stress so much, finnegan says he's fully healthy, Taylor and Davis have talent, Carroll was a one decent hit wonder who shied away from contact.

I'm not that stressed about it, I expect the secondary to take a slight step back but if we get the offensive line and running game fixed, which in turn should help Tannehill improve even more, I don't think it'll keep us from a wining season.

Why do you think the secondary takes a step back, Taylor has a lot of talent, a healthy finnegan will be better than Carroll?
