I totally understand, I have a 6 month old who is a handful...I will say that if the funds allow, Vegas has become much more family friendly since the first time I went 12 years ago. (Granted our kids may be a little too young to enjoy the pool and features). I played in a preliminary Borgota event a couple of weeks ago, busted an hour before Day 1 ended....card dead blinds caught up to me. Hollywood Cbus is going to attempt to put on a decent even next month, so I'll be there for that. As for Vegas, I would have to have a few things go right to be able to shoot out this year but I'm hopeful.

    Go Knicks.

I don't frequent Miami as often as I would like, so unless we are going to be in Vegas at the same time???

One tip for those of you that enjoy the Player props.

If a Player has a higher than career average (PPG) vs. a Team in the Reg. season. It Holds up an astronomical amount of time in the Post Season.

You usually have to lay very little..but.... it is FREE MONEY.

This is what I like in Round 1:

OKC vs. Memphis OVR 5.5 Games -105
BK to WIN in 6. +400 (If you back BK..this is insane value)
Indiana vs. Atlanta OVR 5.5 Games +100
LA Clipper vs. Golden State TOTAL of Exactly 6 games +250

Player Props are not up yet.

    my picks for rd 1

nets over raptors 4-2. watch for pierce this series. should dominate
heat over bobcats 4-0. i like bobcats. scrappy team and might be in a close game or two.
pacers over hawks 4-1. if the pacers dont dominate here they are in serious trouble
gandolfs over bulls 4-3. bulls look better but i'm making this prediction on nene really contributing. if he isnt up to his old self bulls will win

spurs over mavericks 4-0. they own the mavs
blazers over rockets 4-3. i think houston is the better team but they are dinged up. beverly vs lillard will be a great matchup to watch
thunder over grizzlies 4-3. my head tells me thunder 4-1 but my gut tells me 4-3. go with my gut
clippers over warriors 4-2. if bogut was healthy i would be picking the warriors.

I'll pick later, but I have the Mavs winning that series.

I'm most interested in the Clips v. GSW series. If Bogut were healthy I think it would be close, but without his interior D, I think GSW is facing an uphill battle. I expect the splash brothers to get hot enough to make it a series, but I just don't trust outside shooting teams to stay hot enough to win 7 game series most of the time.

I expect the first round to basically be chalk. But I worry about Indiana and Miami beyond round 1 just b/c they've been so poor of late. Sometimes those late season hangovers last a little too long. I expect/hope Miami will be able to turn it on defensively and they may have enough even to get through the east even if they don't. But against a Spurs, OKC or maybe even a streaking Clips in the finals their D will need to be back at that championship level. They really only flashed that level of D occasionally this season. For much of the season I would classify their D as "not good enough".

I have less faith in Indiana turning it on just b/c they flashed sufficient offense even less during the season. I don't think they have much of a chance against whomever of my top three comes out of the west or against the Heat unless Miami's D is just non-existent. I see Houston as a long-shot just b/c their perimeter D is so poor, but I see them as capable of knocking off one of those top 3 teams in the west.

Got my vodka and cranberry ready.....Breakfast of Champions

So juiced. This is going to be a tight series so I'm a bit nervous but overall confident. Think Paul Pierce has an opportunity to really be a difference maker in this series. Also thinking that Joe Johnson will be good. off the bench Andray Blatche and Shaun Livingston could have big contributions..... Go Nets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing comeback by memphis. Down by 6 after being down 25. Even if they fail to pull it off, this run will help them psychologically going into gm 2. And if they do pull it off it will mean every road team won gm 1 which has to be some kind of record

lebron fans should enjoy this series. easiest series he'll see these playoffs matchup wise. charlotte doesnt have anyone to match up on him. i expect lebron to average more than 30 points per gm in this series. i'll be rooting for kemba walker having a respectable series since he's from the bronx but we'll see. i wonder how jefferson vs oden will look and how many minutes oden will get. also want to see how gilchrist performs. this should be a sweep series but i'm hoping for one upset game. doubt it will happen but hoping

I think the Bobcats will get one. The Heat don't sweep often. Gilchrist has his hands full and then some against Lebron. I have a feeling Oden isn't going to be a part of the playoff rotation. I look for Haslem and Birdman to get the bulk of the "big" minutes.

They lost a lot of faith in him down the stretch. His side to side speed was ponderous. They will probably take another off season of conditioning and see if they can improve it but I would be surprised if he got big minutes in this series.

That being said watch him get 15 minutes and a double double today just to make me look dumb.

And also Haslem's legs looked really fresh down the stretch. All the rest did him a world of good. He was playing defense like he was give years younger.
