I was scared when I saw a WR at 48, but happy to see it wasn't Adams. I thought he had a shot to go in the 1st.
Keep in mind the position by position board of who has been picked is on post 3 of the draft thread. It is updated as of pick 50
same as the rest of us- a toothy blowie from Fin-O. Now that I think of it, it's not a very good prize.
I am very surprised Sankey is off the board already. I personally love him (my #2a HB), but just didn't expect him to go anywhere near this high.
Hes my highest rated back and I wanted another back who could take carries cause Ryan Mathews may be a little fragile when he gets 20+ carries week after week. Which is pretty normal I guess given that kind of workload. One thing Ive learned about the draft, when you have a conviction about a player and you have a 1st round grade on a player at pick 50 you take him. Thats where I stood with Sankey. Hes Ray Rice or Doug Martin, take your pick.
I like Sankey. Some of his existing film doesn't do him enough justice, but when you watch tape of defenders playing Washington in games that aren't used to make his normal film, there's some added stuff that lends better perspective and makes you open your eyes a little more, at least for me it did.... enough for me to feel comfortable making him the second back taken and in the 2nd round.
Sankey is so impressive. Just a solid RB. I took him in round 3 in the other GML. RB was so devalued. There were 2 other RB taken before him.
He just has such a great feel and natural instincts for where the running lane will be and he knows how to sell a defense with the initial cut. He runs low and he always falls forward for the extra yard or 2 or 3. Curtis Martin was another back in that same mold.He may not have that Chris Johnson type speed but his speed is no worse then half the elite backs in the league at 4.49.
Looking at your roster and mine, I have the feeling we may have 1 pick in common but other then that we will be looking in very different directions.
Cowboys GM: We currently have made 2 of our now 19 selections, and have 17 left. anybody remember the year one gm did something like this? this was a looooong time ago. almost his whole team were rookies hahah
