VT are you tying to tell me that Kap hasn't lived up to the hype I had for him?, he's about to rip of an elite Qb contract, because he is..he played a hell of game in a place last year where no one could do anything..he's a great player..intangibles off the charts..same for Wilson..2 best qbs not name Brady, Rogers or Luck, if I'm starting a franchise, their top 5. Not sure what the guy has to do.. Anyways, Ryan has not shown the ability thru just his arm that is more effective than what Kap and Wilson can do with both.
Luck isn't in that Top 5. A non ordered list would look something like this: Manning Brady Brees Rodgers Rivers Roethlisberger Romo (blah blah choke blah) Then everything below that list is honestly subjective. I, for example, like Wilson more than Luck. The difference between Luck and Tannehill last season was about 8 interceptions, 1 touchdown, and 1 loss. That's not enough cushion for me to throw him up there. I don't care how pretty he looks spinning away from pressure. He's great at that, but he's nowhere near elite.
I said if I were starting a franchise, the future basically. Luck, Wilson, Kap are 123 imo.. This topic about Ryan always comes back to this, I didn't say anything, both the coach and this dude is talking about making plays..jmo, Ryan hasn't displayed the traits the coach and this dude is talking about, Does he have arm talent, absolutely, was he neutered by a moron coach, yes.
Good question, the real statement is Ryan could only dream of doing some of the things that Wilson did from a playmaking standpoint. 3rd down conversion by the Qb, I wonder where the three stack up passing and running, especially in the fourth quarter.
I'd like to think I saw every play by Tanny last year, but I wasn't always home. So I watched essentially every play since I did record it. I'm really trying to think, which play by Tannehill is something Russell can only dream of making? I honestly cannot think of anything Tanny can absolutely do that Russell cannot. Wilson was the QB of my Dynasty team last year and I saw quite a bit of him as well but of course not as much as Miami's games. The one pass that jumps out at me is the 31 yard TD to Rice in week 7, running backwards, to the right, off his back foot, a perfect pass to Rice in stride. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000264981/DangerRuss-deep Russell didn't even exude some superhuman escapability or speed here. He just recognized the rush, and eluded it enough to hit Rice with a perfect throw, all while running backwards and without setting his feet. Another question I had was the caretaker argument. Yes Wilson was asked to pass less than Tannehill but that's more on the coaching IMO. Lynch was a workhorse but he only averaged 4.2ypc and 70 ypg or so. He wasn't Charles or McCoy back there. So I was curious as to what the average air yards each had, seeing if maybe Tannehill's completions were somehow different, but they weren't a whole lot. If these numbers are accurate: http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/quarterback-air-yards/2013/ Tanny had a 3.76 ypa in the air vs. 4.43 for RW. But wanting to eliminate incompletions as a factor found Tanny at 6.22 ypc vs 7.01 for RW. So Russell's completed passes were traveling further in the air. Might not mean much but was fun to look at. there are other factors such as Tanny maybe not being as accurate deep but that's not a plus.
If he's our LG this year, you good with two rookies playing together on the right side? I guess it would depend on which rookies we're talking about.
The plays he made at the end of the Ravens game....and I think the first Buffalo game...are two that come to mind Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
The only "plays" he made at the end of the Balt game was the 46 yarder to Gibson. After watching Wilson make that TD toss off his back foot while retreating you don't think he can even dream of making a similar pass? Really?
I think the touchdown to Wallace against the Panthers was similar. Wallace was actually covered instead of wide open. I would put those plays very similar in impressiveness. But Wilson has made some great plays. I think it is a waste of time to argue which is better since Wilson/Tannehill trade is not on the table.
Yeah I don't mean to say Tanny hasn't made the plays. But he said Wilson could only dream of plays made by Tanny. Really? The TD toss by Tanny to Wallace was nice but it wasn't off the backfoot and he held Wallace up. And anyone who says wallace doesn't jump or fight needs to watch that toss. Wallace needs to do it more, but we know he can It's being nitpicky, but that's another case of Tanny waiting just a smidgen too long to throw it. He made the pass, but he's looking at Wally a good 3-4 seconds before deciding to throw it, and he has to chuck it 55 yards by then. http://www.miamidolphins.com/multim...p-For-TD/1bdf53cf-bfe2-4e8e-95d6-3e0483fff358
Your talking about two in a season, Wilson and Kaepernik make plays to get first downs, plays when protection breaks down, in every game, multiple times.
According to PFF, he had his best run blocking ratings at RG, and also his worst pass blocking ratings.
And I've also seen PFF label one of his games as a game where he played RG except when I actually looked at the film I found he played LG every single snap he was in the game, so...
Which game may I ask? That is both good and bad though, depending on which game. He could be as shaky pass blocking at LG as he is at RG. They have week 9 vs Tenn and week 17 @Seattle. as his worst pass blocking games. The Tenn game and week 16 vs Tampa Bay as his best run blocking games.
