http://touch.sun-sentinel.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-80041374/ Lets hope this dude starts to get his act together, more focus on his craft, body, leadership, the hunger to be better, and bottom line, grow up a bit and stop acting like a punk college student.
If Pouncey wants to be mentioned in the same breath as Dwight Stephenson and Jim Langer he needs to grow up and be a leader and not a follower. He has been good but he can be much better.
Probably getting his act together off the field will likely result in a change on the field, not that he's been less than advertised, but he could be better with some 'growing up'...
When I looked at him in isolation when he was coming out of college, whenever he was in shotgun formation he had a nasty habit of looking at the Qb the beat before he made the snap..like really consistently..is that what your talking about?
Miami just picked up his option per the team site. He's under contract through 2015. http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/p...r-Option/3425d595-920a-47f5-a20b-4ea657203e13
Yes, and it was noticed in several games in game threads, and I think even some opposing players commented on that. I thought this was a known fact by now.
PFT has it too... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ercise-2015-option-on-mike-pounceys-contract/
Are you referring to tipping off the difference between a run or pass play? Or are you referring to John Jerry looking back at Tannehill and tapping Pouncey just before he raises his head before a snap in shotgun?
When he was in college, he used to dip his head thru his legs to measure where the Qb was a split second before he would snap, I talked about it then but I can't seem to remember if he corrected it, he must of in his first couple years cause I'm sure I would of noticed.
Pouncey is one of the best in the game. As long as he stays out of trouble he's going to be a major force on the line.
I'd chalk that up to it being his first time playing center. Before that he'd always been a guard at UF. I do remember his first game that year against Miami, OH. I remember watching because a few of my buddies were playing for Miami in that game. IIRC they kept it fairly close...for a half or so. I do remember Pouncey had a roller, though ever since that hot snap to Garrard in the scrimmage on Hard Knocks, I can't recall too many bad ones he's had as a Dolphin. Most centers, even in the NFL now, will still look back. Some do it more subtly than others.
Now the team also only has two notable free agents next spring who aren't new signees - Odrick and Clay. Makes it a lot easier to focus on building when we have our own guys locked up.
Pouncey is a very good center but as far as I remember last season, they haven't corrected this bad habit completely. It's a huge advantage for the defense and should be eliminated once and for all. Im tired to watch the other teams defense explode the same split second our center snaps the ball.
