Except your statement specifically slammed one group. It really makes no sense to try to defend it.

My understanding is that not only was it sealed but the outcome was a negotiated settlement where nobody admitted any wrong-doing. Debatable facts and there were only a few articles slamming Sterling, but nowhere near the public outcry. There was zero or at most minimal impact on the league. Now his actions are more known and are clearly damaging the league as advertisers are pulling out, players were threatening boycotts and fans were threatening to stay home. I don't understand how anybody would question the removal of someone who was so obviously damaging your product and your bottom line.

I agree with your last line. I'm white, but I feel like I have no race. I'm just a human being like everyone else. When people act like he has, it paints people like myself in a bad light to others.

In a way I get what you are saying. Racists og any group take care of their own. Its not right and I get that.

I'm not sure you worded it well though.

I am blasting the establishment plan and simple...am I wrong of maybe speaking too soon? or should I have waited for an official report? Sure....but I am not going to sit around here and listen to some godamn clown/s tell me I am a bigot or am I apoligizing....especially when I am on this very forum ALL OVER THE PLACE saying the direct opposite of anything harmful towards any race, religion, or creed....

If for example it was 2 Italian guys or Irish guys instead of 2 Jewish fellas I would have said the same EXACT thing "Irish taking care of Irish" "Italians taking care of Italians" That makes me a racist/bigot? lol GTFO with that....If there is a story of say cops covering up some injustice "Cops taking care of cops".....

There are multiple incidents with Sterling. Thats one. But the one where the NBA COULD have done something was the one where Elgin Baylor alleged racism but there was nothing but laughter heard because Baylor was such an incompetent GM that only a fair man could keep him employed for so long. His reign of terror was as bad as Isiahs for NYK but stretched a hell of a lot longer. However, there was no real grounds for reprimanding Sterling that I can remember.

And if you had said the same thing about Irish or Italians it would also have been prejudice against those groups. That's the obvious point you're missing. You're not blasting any establishment. You're blasting an ethnicity. This is by definition, prejudice.

Sorry but owning an NBA team is NOT an inalienable right. Sterling is bound by the NBA by laws not by government. He can say and do as he pleases but it cant be something that affects the league and it does affect the league. Its absolutely crazy to think it doesnt. It affects the NBA tremendously from a PR standpoint, a sponsorship standpoint and from a personnel standpoint if they take no or take limited action. In a league where roughly 80% of the league is of non-white ethnicities and the group most offended by the comments, blacks, make up what, 60-70%?

The owners are bound by the by-laws just like the players are bound by the CBA. These are the terms of ownership or playing in the league and everyone agrees to abide by them. It is a privilege to own or play in the league not some right everyone is born in to. Sterling and other owners are responsible for what comes out of their mouths. The NBA is a private entity and they are allowed to limit your public beliefs if it is damaging to their brand. Technically they could probably go after Sterling in a lawsuit on those grounds because its conceivable such bigoted remarks could cost the league money in fan attendance, merchandising and viewership (on regular tv and paid subscriptions like NBA TV). I can appreciate your stance on the overwhelming majority of issues but I think you're wrong on this one. Public figures such as Sterling are extremely limited in their right to privacy and once you bring a 3rd person in to the mix, any right to privacy is gone especially when he asked her to record him because he forgets what he says! You have no argument on that.

You have a HC in Doc Rivers threatening to quit and the players possibly demanding a trade. There are 3 things you need to realize. One is that the players on Golden State were prepared, with possible support from some LA Clippers to walk off the court in a playoff game last night had the ruling not been made. You want to talk about embarrassing? How much more embarrassing can it be then a team being willing to forfeit a playoff game because of a bigoted owners beliefs? Secondly, Rivers was the victim of a hate crime when he was in San Antonio. He had his house burned down by a hate group. Donald Sterling was aware of this when he hired him. As an employee, one has a right to feel as though they will not be discriminated against based on skin color. Lastly, the NBA more then any other league is a players league. If you dont have players, youre done. No amount of coaching can make a crap roster work. What superstar will want to play for that man? What decent player will want to play for him? He effectively killed the entire value of his franchise in one fell swoop. Now, hes not exactly leaving empty handed here. The NBA is going to force him to sell a team he paid about 13.5M for and the sale will probably get him in the range of 700-800M. Id say kicking him out of the club is a fair punishment...theyre not taking the profits from the sale of the team, theyre just telling him GTFO because theres no room for that and they are correct.

Just to be clear you are equating someone who is racist with someone who discriminates against racists.

  24. So when a team decides to play misogynist hip hop music there shouldnt be any arguments when those owners are forced out too?

The owner isnt the damn DJ. And thats called catering to your players who, guess what, listen to that music. Theres even rap lyrics about how athletes wanna be rappers and rappers wanna be athletes. Goodness gracious. Enough.

Silver is banning an owner who is costing the league money and maybe even a shut-down. You can't seriously be clueless enough to think that's the same thing as bashing an ethnicity.
