As a big man, Adridge's undoing is undying love for the mid-range shot. I really believe that.

Holy crap that was a good series.

I hate the NBA though. The refs are just making **** up as they go. Makes it really hard to watch. It's a slight step above pro-wrestling at this point.

Hell Yes. Finally. I went to many of those playoff games in the early 90s when we had Clyde, Terry, Jerome, Buck and Duck. Then we had to suffer through all those years of Rod Strickland, JR Rider and Wallace.

Howard played well in the series. The loss wasn't his fault.

Yup, it was in good part because Harden was trash (by his standards) for at least 4 games.

Howard's arguably the best center in the league when he's on it.

Say what you want about Howard as a person, but he brought it all series. Harden's game 4 was tough to watch.

yeah and when you consider that blazers and wizards were lower seed upsets its absolutely amazing. Heat are the only series that went like history said it should

I thought the Raps/Nets were destined for at least 6 but yeah it's been amazingly competitive for a round one. I never thought the Mavs would take the Spurs the distance.

I'm here. I don't hide. It was an entertaining series for other fans, but as a Rockets' fan, I am emotionally drained. Every minute of every game was a complete rollercoaster. I have never seen anything like it. I can't tell you the amount of times I went from cursing at my team to jumping for joy the next second. The series told me a lot about the players on this team.

I have a new found respect for Dwight. Los Angeles Lakers look really stupid right now for letting him walk for nothing. Our point guard play is atrocious, if someone will take Lin as part of a trade I will be beyond ecstatic. I said all along, Terrence Jones and the power forward spot would possibly be our downfall, which is why I was so scared of the Clippers and Blake Griffin. Aldridge was allowed to push off on EVERY shot, so that combined with the weak play of our power forwards was our ultimate downfall. Chandler Parsons and Kevin McHale will be gone next season. McHale's ineffective coaching has been magnified throughout this series. Being a motivator is fine, but at some point you've got to be able to draw up some Xs and Os and have enough common sense to take advantage of matchups. Parsons may become a star in the future, but right now he just isn't ready. He missed at least 15 layups this series, plus he let Lillard take the wide open 3 last night for the win. There is no excuse for that. I'd love to send Lin, Parsons, and Asik to Minny for Kevin Love if they're interested. He's not staying in Minny anyways, so they might as well get some decent players back.

Now, as for Harden....it was a rollercoaster. This is a guy who finished 4th in the regular season in free throw attempts by driving to the basket. The first 2 games, he refused to drive the ball. Nothing but jump shots. Why he did this, I have no idea and i won't defend it because it pissed me off. Game 3, he woke the hell up and started driving to the hole, was getting fouled but the refs wouldn't call it. God forbid if anyone laid a finger on Aldridge though...they blew the whistle then. And all Aldridge does is shoot jump shots. Game 4 was the same as game 3. Drive to the basket, get hit....no whistle. Game 5, I guess Harden said 'screw it'....the refs won't blow the whistle when I get hacked when going to the rim, so i'll resort back to just shooting jump shots. That resulted in his worst outing of 17 points (Wade's playoff average by the way). Game 6, when all the pressure was on and every other Rocket looked scared (besides Dwight), he dropped 34 points on 60% shooting while driving the ball to the hole and getting 12 free throw shots, his most of the series. The refs must have forgot to swallow their whistles when Harden is hacked. Harden saw the refs were actually calling fouls this game, so he decided to go the rim, constantly. The only thing that slowed Harden down in the 4th quarter was our dumb coach. Granted, the iso ball with Dwight down low was effective in the 4th quarter, but when you have a guy that was hot as Harden was, you don't just tell him to stand at the top of the key and just let Dwight try to win the game all by himself.

In the end, the better coached team and the team the refs favored won. A jump shooting team like the Blazers had only 7 less free throw attempts than the Rockets, who led the regular season in free throw attempts. The Rockets doubled the Blazers in points in the paint, yet only had 7 more free throws than the jump shooting Blazers. How did that happen? When you find out, please let me know.

Pacers getting all the calls, why am I not surprised.

    Hawks are gonna Hawk.

Pacers should be embarrassed acting all tough and pumped like they just accomplished some monumental feat. Specially that **** Stephenson. Took them 7 games to beat a bad Atlanta team.

puh-lease. you're using the refs as the reason the Rockets lost the series, and LA pushing off "EVERY" time. that's pretty weak and sour grapes.
they lost for one simple reason. Harden played like crap while Howard played his butt off and it wasn't enough.

whistles are generally put away during playoffs so you cant be counting on them in the playoffs. i know as a nets fan, if the refs call ticky tack fouls today we will be at a disadvantage. they shouldnt because its a game 7 in the playoffs and the unwritten rule is you should pocket your whistles but if they do, we just have to find a way to overcome it. overall i thought it was a great series and the rockets have nothing to be ashamed about. if i was a rockets fan i would be thrilled with dwight howard's performance and look to improve that defense next year. looks like you have finally replaced akeem the dream. didnt really consider the coaching but you could be right there. anyways good you came back. cant have heatles fans owning this thread :)
