i wanted people that would actually be around and my previous comment was not a knock on them, they've been great.
well i have KC here and then Buffalo... so this will be interesting. oh yeah.. and then you're up... mmm hmmm...
Whenever Seattle goes... unless someone wants to trade up, Ill make my pick later tonight when I get the spawn of satan to sleep
sorry for missing my pick guys, was at work all day and didn't get a chance to check in. have no idea who the player you drafted for me, committee - thanks. all good tho haha no sarcasm, safety was a position that needed to be addressed anyways. preciate it, folk.
They gave you a damn good Saftey prospect that I could see going as high as the 3rd. I almost selected him 20 picks ago and I was hoping he would make it too 181. But Paul's a helluva nice guy.
I've updated the remaining schedule for the league... but this is what I posted, let me know if any q's... we probably aren't doing the UDFA or Practice Squad stuff. It wasn't included in the schedule yet this year and nobody seemed to bring that up I know some of you die-hards will be a bit disappointed. Perhaps if you guys want to put a little thread together just listing your top 10 undrafted guys immediately after the GML draft (but before the NFL draft ends), there might be some bragging rights at stake Otherwise, I don't think it adds any value to the overall voting process as we wind this down. Just to give you all an idea of the remaining schedule: May 11th, 11:59PM EST Rosters are frozen (No more signings/trades) May 18th, 11:59PM EST Final Rosters are due (write-ups are optional) May 19th, 12:01AM EST "Best Of" Nominations Begin May 21st, 12:01AM EST Final Voting Begins May 27th, 8:00PM EST Winners Announced
we gotta have at least a few days of UDFAs. Don't make Vontaze Burfict and Victor Cruz b-tch slap you with Fin-O's giant rubber dildo.
I don't see the value in it... vs the cost of having to run it. Back when those players were undrafted, would having one listed on your roster make any difference in the voting process at the end of this league year?
It's for the realism of it, plus it's fun to reflect on after the season. What cost of having to run it? Isn't it just one thread that gets updated? Couldn't we cap it at 5 UDFAs per team, which obviously would be less than that b/c some teams dont have the cap space for it. Personally, I allocated cap space specifically for UDFAs that I would've otherwise spent in FA had I known we wouldn't be doing it. I bowed out on a few significant players I was at the $4+ million bid mark on b/c I wanted to save a few million for rookie free agents. Just sayin. I'll update UDFAs if it lets us run it. So how about it's capped at 5 UDFAs, and GMs must get their initial bids in within the first 3 hours or so of the start of the UDFA period. From there, each GM becomes locked in on his specific players and can't bid on any others regardless if his get bid up on. Normal FA rules apply where it takes 24 hours to win a player. A minimum bid can be retracted, however, if a GM retracts a bid, it can't then be applied to another player. ???
landing the draft's best DT, best RB, 2nd best DE, 3rd best CB, 1st round WR in the late 2nd round, and a 1st round talent CB in the 6th round say otherwise doofus.
Easy, there's no need for name calling just because you are over sensitive and lack some self confidence. Let me just put my arm around you and tell you, there, there. It will be alright.
Yeah, but I got the best DE in the draft, a top five DT, a 1st round caliber receiver who can do it all, and a dynamic playmaker at the RB/WR/Returner position. I'd pop my call, but I'm wearing a T-shirt.
It's understandable, it's a self defense mechanism for someone who isn't able to accept criticism from others for their poor choices. Don't worry I know it's a lot of pressure for you to win this game and scream out to the high heavens your glorious achievements once the other GMs see your brilliant strategy unfold and that unparalleled player assessment. Truly this is the most inspiring of time to see a savant like you work and fire back at the naysayers with your brilliant rapier wit. Bravo to you sir, bravo.
LOL I love those arguing how great they did and casting for votes. If you do this to win votes you do it for the wrong reason IMO. I could care less if someone votes for me, its nice dont get me wrong and I like votes but if they feel someone did better so be it. I never claimed to be genius and do not have anywhere near the time to study all these players in depth. I like it cause it makes the offseason go fast. I like looking at a team I built. Seeing the changes and then looking at whether I made the team look like I wanted it. So stop arguing and touting your own horns, it just makes others want to vote for someone else
The thing is, winning the draft isn't always just about getting the most good players. I think it's also about value. If you have the 1st pick in the draft it's not that much of an accomplishment to say you got the best player in the draft. Obviously you can maneuver to get yourself in that position, but you gave up value to get there. For me, the best draft vote is a combination of which team got the best players and where they got them. And while I think many people use the actual draft as their only guide, I use how good I think a player will be compared where he was taken as the main determinant, with the actual draft results as a supplement. For example, last year the EJ Manuel pick got a lot of votes for draft steal of the year. While I might have valued him higher than a 4th round pick, it wasn't that much higher, and certainly not the top 15 pick he was. But because he was picked so high in the actual draft he got a lot of votes.
Meh. I'm just happy I came out of the first 3 rounds with 5 guys who can start without issue. Felt like I grabbed guys in the right spots just before others would have. Made the move for Lewan when he was slipping. Made the move for Hageman albeit it wasn't the team I thought was going to grab him but another team. Got Tuitt without moving and pretty much shutting the door on anyone who wanted a natural 5 tech by grabbing the top 2. Got Brooks who I am pretty sure won't escape the 2nd round, has plenty of growth room and was a key component of FSU's top defense. And Turner will probably go a lot higher then I picked also, especially if that run on OL happens. Hell I would be happy if Miami nabbed him in the 3rd. Wished I had kept a mid round pick to work with, but other then that I like what I've done. My 3-4 end rotation and secondary is pretty damn scary now.
throw more stuff against the wall and see if it sticks doofus. You couldn't get under my skin if you were a splinter.
