If we decide to go WR first, who do you want?

Thatd be exactly the kind of draft I could get excited about.

Address the OL, then add some competition and depth at other areas based on who's available.

Agreed. I don't favor ignoring any position. I'm just saying I don't see the upside in taking a WR in the first unless it's a get off the bus catching TDs and making Pro Bowls type guy. We have a "decent" group there already so it's a better idea to grab a guy in the 2nd or 3rd round who can come into a pressure free environment and develop while using higher picks on OL who are gonna have to come in and perform from day one. I think we are pretty much on the same page.

I respect your opinion, but I can't judge a guy based on quotes and articles from PFT.

I actually lly want my best WRs to be pissed if they aren't getting balls and aren't being made a part of the game plan. You say he mouthed off after the Cleveland game, Ok. He also tied up Joe Haden while Hartline and Gibson went bananas on Buster Skrine and Chis Owens, contributing to the win even though he didn't have much "production".

Wallace has to be accounted for, we all know that. He's not the problem. The problem is that we need to improve our ability to punish teams for accounting for him.

Ah and you're so close to giving your I told you so speech.

Youre also keen on giving Philbin credit for Aaron Rodgers' individual greatness, which is silly. I wonder why Green Bay's offense continued to be successful w/o Philbin while falling apart when their QB was injured. Don't answer that was a rhetorical question.

If it was only Wallace underperforming you'd actually have a point. But it's a whole slew of proven players who have either under performed with this staff or been let go prior to having a chance. Wallace, Marshall, Bush, Fasano, Vontae, Dansby, Bess, Burnett, Ellerbe, Wheeler, Soliai, Starks, Wake, Misi, Jones, TE list goes on. I guess they just don't fit Philbin's system.

At what point does the coach become accountable for getting the most from his players instead of complaining to Ross and Aponte that he doesn't have everything he asked for on his Christmas list?

So anyone can put on a uniform and get 3-4 steps open deep in your eyes?

I'm not, really. It'll be next off-season, and I doubt I'll need to.

I don't know what you're talking about. Philbin has little to do with Aaron Rodgers success.

Philbin is a bad head coach, but I'm not sure what any of those names have to do with anything. I'm not sure many of them fit, either.

Wallace is pretty much the only guy who has explicitly under-performed there because he's a hothouse flower, and I'm not sure there's a lot of guys on that list outside of him who legitimately under-performed on their own merits here in the same sense.

Hickey didn't sign or re-sign any of those guys, so if he has other plans, I don't think he'll forego them in order to appease the feelings of player he wants to replace/upgrade. Players have been around enough to understand that a new GM can mean changes and new faces, regardless of what the previous regime recently did.

If Goodwin only had 17 catches for 283 yards in Buffalo, I'd say it is overly optimistic to assert that he could have gotten 70 catches for 900 yards or so in Miami.
