Umm is there actually a chance Justin Gilbert could fall to 19?

I think there is a reality that has set in for me..

Mayock does Notre dame games, he has watched Zack Martin perform in every one of his games, last nite he endorsed the kid very highly and was adamant that he would be gone before our pick...I've seen him get adamant like that predraft, he's usually right.

Were either gonna trade down, or select someone who is not an Olineman, at least I hope that's the case.

Yeah when it comes to scouting and the draft I take Mayock's opinion very highly.

Both Verrett and Fuller have better ball skills than Gilbert. Less INTs, but more PDs - around the ball more often.

Fair, but in my opinion he is clear cut #1. He brings measurables Den nard lack as well as college production to back it up.

It is a deep draft but IMO if you identify a guy you like better than the others I think you go for it.

I like Finnegan but I'm not sure I'm comfortable not bringing in a guy with talent to compete for that spot. Also with Grimes aging your hope is Gilbert beconing your shutdown corner with Taylor and Davis as your #2 and #3 long term.

You've got to project some things if your players are healthy..you can't just be doom and gloom because of what happened last year.

Let me correct myself: touchdown/return ability after the interception (or on kickoffs, something our team could use a little punch of).

You know what? When you go back and dig up a bunch of someone's old posts from past years like that, it makes you come across like an obsessive compulsive little turd. Not that I expect it bothers you very much.

IMO, the one thing Gilbert offers the other corners don't is success as a kickoff returner. When you say measurables do you mean physically? Because Gilbert has very small hands, 8 5/8s", which may or may not be a problem at the next level. Maybe it's just me but when it comes to athletes who handle the ball, bigger hands are a definite plus and very small ones are a definite minus. Roby btw has 10 1/4" size hands, bigger than many linemen. As for heights and weights, the top 4 guys, Dennard, Gilbert, Fuller and Roby, are all from 5'11 to 6' and 190 to 200 lbs, so it is really splitting hairs to say one stands out as superior to any degree. When you start including guys like McGill, Jean-Baptiste, and Exum then it's a different story.

He made those statements at the end of the season...everything is documented here, which is great, Aqua had the audacity to wrongly accuse me of something he himself was actually guilty of doing.

My desire to add a weapon has zilch to do with Hartline and Gibson recovering from injuries, they aren't RAC type of receivers period. Every single player you named could still be on the team, fully healthy, it wouldn't change anything.

Anyone can go through LBs posts and find a dictionary sized ungodly amount of nonsense. The whole idea of him digging at your post history is pretty ironic.

I meant more along the lines of physical measurables, speed, quickness, etc

When it comes to discussing any player with you or anyone else, personally I live in the here and now. I have neither the time, interest or inclination to dredge through past threads from a week, month or year ago to see what you or anyone else said then and post the quotes here now in an attempt to throw it in their face. If it was so over the top that I can remember it off the top of my head, then yeah I may mention it. But hey, if it makes you feel like a big man, whatever floats your boat.

Gilbert, Roby, Verrett and Philip Gaines all clock in the mid 4.3s. In reverse though, Roby stands alone as the best in this group. At the combine, the DBs do the BTR, backpedal, turn, and run. Ourlads Scouting times them. There is a BTR-left, turning left out of their pedal and then a BTR-right.
    Gilbert BTR-left, 4.65, right, 4.75
    Dennard BTR-left, 4.89, right, 5.03
    Verrett, BTR-left,4.59, right, 4.78
    Fuller, BTR-left, 4.84, right, 5.03
    Roby, BTR-left, 4.40, right, 4.53
    P. Gaines, BTR-left, 4.50, right, 4.65
    Reynolds, BTR-left, 4.56, right, 4.68
    McGill, BTR-left, 4.77. right, 4.76

    Best safeties
Bucannon, BTR-left and right both 4.59
    Clinton-Dix, BTR-left 4.57, right, 4.50
