I don't see a G here. As much as the staff has kept rookies largely off the field, expecting two rooks to man the entire right side of the line and allow Tannehill to have a good year is ... not the best idea I think. Would rather see what we have on the team or in upcoming releases. Would love to see Marquis Lee here - I think he is going to give someone a Keenan Allen type year. Was big on Mason pre-Moreno, but now would prefer Seastrunk in the 3rd/4th as a Miller replacement. Would not mind seeing Skov either. TE has several good options to think of here.
we have Sam Brenner and Dallas Thomas. those are the alternatives. Neither can possibly invoke much more confidence than a 2nd round rookie. G is absolutely in play at 50.
Right now I would be targeting: RB Tre Mason WR Allen Robinson TE Jace Amaro G/T Billy Turner C/G Marcus Martin LB Kyle Van Noy FS Terrance Brooks They may all be gone by the time we pick.
Wasn't Thomas recovering from a shoulder injury much like Jordon last season? Is it out of the realm of possibility that he may make a significant jump in performance?
I would like the Robinson pick; could handle the Mason pick (though a bit high, for my taste); would like Turner also; but the Martin pick would be a good move (though I'd like him better in the 3rd, he may go early in 2nd). Martin could play guard and then switch to C if we decide to trade Pouncey. If one of the others on the roster (Dallas Thomas, for example) stepped up to play effectively at guard, we could shop Pouncey then. Not pushing to get rid of him but he hasn't shown much maturity.
I checked his wiki page and it made no mention of him having that condition. I guess he wasn't abig enough name yet to warrant that entry.
There was an article posted somewhere about him starting to lose his hair at age 5 and him being the only bald kid in kindergarten. It was about how he was self-unconscious at first, but eventually accepted it. Now he probably digs the bad-*ss look and how he saves money on hair care. ; )
Bitonio or Su'a Filo at 50, then the best value available in the 3rd. everything begins in the trenches, got to get this one nailed down with the draft to move forward as a team. Terrance West-RB (Towson University) would be an interesting later draft acquisition in later rounds.
I want Marqise Lee or A Robinson. PLease get Tanne some weapons who can get open quickly in space. As much as the OL was responsible for all the sacks last year, Tannehill also hung onto the ball for way too long. Some of it has to do with his progressions, yes, but a lot of it has to do the with ability of the WR's to get open. Also, FWIW, I read on reddit that "half the league" have taken Lee off their boards due to his knee injury.
Pretty sure this has been dis-proven. Unless of course like 22+ other QBs hold the ball way too long.
It's been quite a while since it was discussed, I didn't bookmark it or anything (and I am sure it came up more than once). I am pretty sure PFF tracks time to throw as well, but I don't have a subscription.
I'm guessing an order of something like: ASJ, Lee, Hyde, Latimer, Moncrief, Bryant, Phillip Gaines, Carl Bradford
I don't remember the thread either...but I feel like in the thread it was shown that Tanne got rid of the ball in under 2.5 seconds more than any other QB in the league...and I think year was under the league average for the average time a qb had the ball? I may have the numbers wrong, but that guy in the thread totally destroyed the myth that Tanne holds the ball too long.
Both Hyde and Robinson are still on the board, and we trade the pick?!? Must be going to make another reach and don't want to take much heat for it
