that 2nd trade down from 57 to 63 hurt us...Jean Baptiste and Allen Robinson went off the board at 58 and 61

If we had stayed put at 50 we could have gotten a WR ranked 3-5 ahead of this guy...

Hickey probably was going for Robinson but he got Poached last second.

Love this pick! A playmaker. Great hands, tough, physical, catches everything thrown to him.

Compared to Anquan Boldin. You have to love that.

With what Gibson and Matthews did last season, not sure a tough, reliable slot receiver without a lot of speed is what this team needed. But whatever.

    Well I think.

Wr's are hard to pick. Most people look at measurable, outside of the rare freaks I think guys with skills usually excel at the position. Guy is a baller, runs good routes, fights for the ball and catches everything.

If he learns to create separation with his route running he could be a huge pick for us.

I actually really like all our picks so far player wise. I guess I can't be too hard on Hickey regardless of results. Since I seem to like the same players.

I suppose he'll either be thrown into the mix to fight for the starting guard spot, or be a backup, developmental OT. If nothing else, we have real depth at tackle now, compared to before the start of the offseason. Total rebuild indeed.

Landry reminds me of a Gibson or Donald Driver type WR. Sticky hands, reliable, can play ST from day one as he develops. Throw him into the mix and let him compete.

I just read where someone compared Landry to Hines Ward. Is that accurate? If so, I love the idea. I never saw him play.

Hickey said that whenever he'd ask a prospect which opponent gave them the most trouble, Landry's name came up a lot.

I am obsessed with this pick.

I think they mean as far as physicality, toughness and great hands go.

Also have seem him compared to Hines Ward.

    Either way, I'm very happy.

I feel pretty damn good that at least one of these last 2 picks will do more for this team than any 2nd or 3rd round pick Jeff Ireland ever made as GM of the Miami Dolphins. Book it.

Juwuan James gave up only 2 sacks in his last 29 starts starting at RT in the SEC.
Billy Turner gave up 0 sacks in 2013.
Jarvis Landry put up 1100+ yards and 10 tds in 2013.

Seriously, what is not to like?

and? Landry wasn't drafted to replace Wallace. He was drafted for the slot, so he's Gibson/Matthews' replacement. Is he THAT much better to justify a 2nd round pick to upgrade them? I don't think so.

Poor draft management AGAIN as far as I'm concerned. We could've taken Billy Turner at 63, saved ourselves a 4th rounder by not having to trade up for him, and then waited for BPA in the 3rd round, which could've ultimately STILL have been Landry. So when you look at it this way [since guard was the bigger need], we essentially gave up a 3rd & 4th for Jarvis Landry when he likely could've been there at 3 if we waited. So far we've overpaid for EVERYTHING.

If Philbin can't win with this improved roster, we seriously need to throw $10 mil at Gus Malzahn and give him this talent to take us to the promise land.
