How many times did Tannehill miss Mike Wallace, wide open, for 6? Mike Wallace isn't perfect, but Tannehill left a 200-400 yards and 6-8 TD's on the field last season. Just sayin'.

Wow im actually shocked.. This was a good pick in the second round! Tough, Fast, and Excellent hands and he will not shy away from contact like someone else we have! Nice pick honestly and with two new Olineman and Yes im still upset we reached at 19, but if we can somehow get some secondary safety picks that smake the team I will have to be happy..

Watch this video hes going to be a fan favorite with his ability to catch and not shy away from fighting for it!

I asked the same thing. Those were at the combine when he ran a poor 40 w/ a bad hammy, so maybe those numbers reflect that as well. I hope so.

I said that in the chat room that he reminds me of Stedman, he really does have great hands, but as far as a blocker, just because he's a tough kid, for some reason it doesn't translate to his blocking, it's pretty bad..

Landry's jumping/high-pointing ability isn't a concern. He can go up about as good as anyone at his height. Best thing about him is he's the draft's best bad-ball receiver right there with Sammy Watkins and his teammate. That's a huge asset in the NFL in my opinion.

FTR, I was talking mentality, as in a tough SOB and a leader. Matt Millen was saying that he witnessed him getting on to to teammates for dogging it.

There's no way YOU don't love this pick....right?

He's was a star basketball player...yeah, I don't think we really have to worry about his vertical leaping. Just watch his tape. The guy was the 2nd best wr in the nation coming out of high school and continued to produce in the SEC. What is there to worry about?

What they're going to love doing with him is sending him up the seam where Ryan Tannehill can throw back-shoulders at him and he can adjust back to the outside making those catches. They can do the same with him wheeling out too.

    Essentially like this play:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wYU5cM27-BI#t=43

    And this play:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wYU5cM27-BI#t=104

But ultimately I'm not sure how hard it is to find that.

Most of you guy's just crack me up. Unless we get exactly who YOU thought was the best pick it was a bad pick. Unless we get people who everyone has rated the highest or ran the fastest in the 40 time it was a horrible pick. So glad ya'll ain't the GM. Imo Hickey worked some pretty good trade backs, still got quality players and we go into tomorrow with five picks. Landry is a very talented and hard working WR. Probably one of the best if not THE best all round WR in the draft. I love what Hickey has done so far. We now have quality players to compete for the OL positions and we grabbed a great play maker/WR in Landry. We can still score some great players in day three. I for one am pleased with what Hickey has done so far.

what games did you watch? because his blocking is something that actually stood out to me as something that was better than most WRs in this class, and something that im seeing a lot of LSU fans herald.

Good idea Chris. I like it. That's money if the timing is there. But hell, even if the timing isn't there, Landry's catch radius allows the timing to be more forgiving.

Landry = poor man's DeAndre Hopkins? yay, nay?

Man, as long as he can keep catching the ball like that then I'm sure Lazor can get a lot out of him.

I'd say his biggest obstacles will just be learning the book and adjusting to the NFL life. He certainly seems to have the mentality, work ethic, and talent down.

Landry wasn't on our visit list IIRC. Wonder if we had Mettenberger in to get his take on his ex receiver.

Yeah I don't see what's not to like about Landry. He's a lot faster than Hartline or Gibson. He's got the same approach as guys like Golden Tate and Anquan Boldin. He actually reminds me of Bobby Engram from his Chicago Bear days. Engram had a very long productive career. I actually think Landry is much more talented than Engram, but still....Can't be mad about the pick. I wanted Allen Robinson all day, but Landry was second on my list after that in terms of WR. I really like the looks of our receiving core. We are deep at that position.
The other pick Billy Turner...I know nothing about this kid, but he plays a position of need and people speak highly of him as a player. I wont be mad about the pick until he fails (same with James).
First day production wise I think James and Turner will contribute. Landry has to beat out some competition but I see him anywhere from 2-5 depending on how things turn out.

Are there any similarities between Cobb and Landry? They seem to have similar height, weight, and similar speed (4.5 range). What about route running and quickness? Landry's highlights make him look super quick, but they're highlights for a reason...

This Landry pick came right around the same draft position as Randal Cobb a few years back. And there is enough superficial similarities that make me wonder if Philbin has a plan for him in the same mold?

Given all that I've read about Landry, I'm a little excited about him.

LSU fans said Jerry Rice... Im going to go with that, cuz Jerry > Donald.

So... Who's on the market in Jacksonville? Blackmon, Shorts, Sanders, Denard Robinson? Someone is getting cut or traded. Unless they keep 6 (w/ Lee and Allen Robinson).

Can I start a new Jarvis Landry thread? I kinda hate that this is his go-to and that is begins with such disdain. I think he's a hero in the making, and he deserves to be welcomed with love.

I'm going to do it anyway, and in the process deleting my LSU post here to make it meatier. If youve got any nice things to say, please help a brother out. Or, even better, if youre a mod, merge merge merge, but please pick the "first post" that illicits better karma =)
