First time I've heard Hickey speak for any length of time. He's about as comfortable in front of the microphone as Stephen Ross.
I think there is more to it than being comfortable in front of people. I think he has a nervous energy when he gets excited and i think his enthusiasm is genuine. it makes him unfortunately come across as bumbling.
Who cares if he stutters sometimes. I have a 146 IQ and I stutter sometimes explaining things on the fly to people. Listen to the content and decide rather than the delivery. That is one reason our world is in such bad shape. People only care about how good of a public speaker someone is and not what they are actually saying.
Is there no end to finding something to complain about? lol wow. i agree with dolphan1, but i don't think it even comes across as uncomfortable but he seems very excited about the draft, sure their is a bit of nervousness its his first draft..i like that he isn't a robot up there and is so excited that he seems like he bumbles a little. its more personal
Delivery tells about leadership. Luckily they picked some players this year who are better than them.
Nothing that Hickey has done or said has yet won me over but, as everyone has pointed out, the only results that matter will be in the win column
And you deliver some of the most assinine comments I have ever read in a forum format. Whats that tell? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
No...it really doesn't. If you think it does you are either a bad leader or following the wrong people. Leadership is about having a plan that involves every level of employee, taking their strengths and weaknesses into account, being flexible with people and taking their ideas into consideration. I don't want to leave out work ethic either. When you are a hard worker those below you tend to respect you more and work harder themselves. I don't want this to become some sort of political thread...but lots of politicians give amazing public speeches. Almost none of them have substance and almost none of them are very good leaders.
Yeah, players are mostly saying the same types of things, which they pretty much have to do, but we all know talk is cheap.
Similar. My issue is sometimes I skip over details as I expect others to connect the dots, and they don't.
