So you are arguing that people shouldn't be allowed to speak their minds when other people speak their minds?

Maimi PLayers Just cant shut the F&^D UP can they?

Hot off the heals of mouthy Mike Pouncy tweeting disrespectful remarks, today another Fin tweeted more fodder for the Media to continue focusing on us..

Just 48 hours after Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey found himself in hot water over recent Twitter comments, Dolphins second-year player Don Jones tweeted a controversial reaction to the St. Louis Rams drafting Michael Sam, who became the first openly gay player drafted in the NFL.

I get it your entitled to your opinions, religious beliefs and all, but man can these guys just shut up for once. I'm not into the Gay lifestyle don't want that for my children but that is a matter for them and and GOD to consider. There are many good GAY people and Many Horrible Straight people. I would have thought by now the Organization would have had a sit down and explained that they need to keep their opinions to themselves. I can see the league, etc clamping down on these social media sites in contracts to prevent individuals costing the organization money.

    Poor taste in my opinion.

I guess Philbin hasn't yet gotten it across to all his players that the culture of the Dolphins from last year will no longer be acceptable. Either that is the case or some of the players just don't care one bit what Philbin says.

When I heard what Pouncey stated after the first round, I had to cringe. While before last year it would have been funny. Since the Martin incident, and especially with Pouncey being one of the main charters involved, you would think he would have learned to just keep his mouth shut and stay off twitter.

As far as Jones is concerned. When I heard he was complaining about something being terrible. I thought he was referring to his play for most of last season. Obviously he is just too ignorant to realize that the sexual orientation of an individual is not something to be ridiculed. Perhaps he is too young to remember when bigots were opposed to African American men playing football in the NFL.

Mr. Jones, what is truly terrible are intolerant and narrow minded individuals like you.

Just interesting today a quote came up on my phone app today with the definition of a bigot.

Bigot, n. One who is obstinately and zealously attached to an opinion that you do not entertain.

Why does a Miami Dolphin always have to tweet something stupid at any news about a gay player? First Mike Wallace and now this. Michael Sam being the first openly gay player drafted is a big deal. But enough already with the coverage. From here on out he should be treated like any other human being trying to make a roster in the NFL. Continuing to make his sexual orientation the focus is not going to do him any favors. But this is ESPN, the same news organization that told it's anchors there was no such thing as too much Tim Tebow coverage.

Here is where the current Fascist thinking runs off of the rails, it is not a religious belief per se that motivates me, it is this curious attempt to silence dissent or displeasure w/o mentioning the merits of such relationships

STFU when I'm talking to you is the order of the day

That is the order of the day for them, I'm utterly opposed to that

You're right, if Jones never tweeted his thoughts America would never known a gay NFL draftee kissed his BF...we are discussing this here because Jones is a Dolphin and while it's a dumb thing he did Jones is only a subplot to a historic moment, and a subplot that America is already use to seeing from NFL players.

I think Jones tweeting after the poor decision of Pouncey to tweet is pretty much a clueless, ill judgement call by somebody that doesn't have much common sense when it comes to the bigger picture. That's about it. Ok saying its a personal opinion etc etc blah blah blah...that's irrelevant with the media and every reporter watching like a hawk everytime a Miami player tweets and causes potential to stoke last seasons bad press. Its poor judgement, short sighted and damaging.

  22. Because this is America and bigots who hate those who stand for family values have no right to punish those who do. Jones had just as much right to speak his mind of the disgusting display that was forced down our thoats as Sams did to do it. This isn't 1930s Germany, this is America.

There is nothing Facist about it. This is pure capitalism. The company you work for doesn't want you affecting their bottom line, alienating customers and advertisers.

    What your proposed solution be?

How stupid does Don Jones have to be to make a public comment like that after everything that happened last year? You can't coach stupid.

    This team needs smarter players.

  25. It is truely amazing how backwards this whole issue has turned out to be. A player uses the NFL draft to promote his own political agenda and is the hero, yet someone who dislikes it is the bad guy?? What if a player would have held up a sign after getting drafted that he was muslim and wanted to have a 30 second clip about it, or he was against human trafficing or global warming?? The issue is this player is more worried about promoting his agenda, than he is playing football.

I ask you this, if a player turned around and smeared cake all over his sister's face and then proceeded to lick it off and open mouth kiss her as his way to celebrate getting drafted, and Jones or any other player would have said "that's disgusting" would the world be all over him for being insentive??

If the country can't look through out history and see the distructive force that such sexual perversion has on a society, that is one thing, but to have it forced down our throats and then be PUNISHED for even pointing it out, is akin to the social media control that Hitler forced on 1930s Germany. This is getting out of hand people, wake up and realize what is being done to you.

But this is not about free speech or whatever Don Jones believes in. its about trying to WIN football games and the more distractions our players cause the harder that is to do. Don Jones is a complete idiot and not because of his views ( which he has a right to) but because he lacks a phenomenal amount of common sense.

  27. Lol @ left wing fascism being repackaged as capitalism. It seems to be a reoccurring theme lately. I wonder which left wing rag released the new double speak marching orders.

When will the team start attracting positive media attention instead of continuing black-eyes?

Man, I want guys like Don Jones and Pouncey to lose, not win. Hard to root for people you dislike.

Oh Dolphins, why do you make it so ****ing hard for me to love you unconditionally?

No, I'm not, and you're not really even doing a good job putting together a rational argument if I were.

Don Jones intent means it isn't a private expression of belief, and a private expression of belief isn't really something that is protected from the opinions of the public if you are inherently involved in the public sphere.

Stupid is part of it. The team culture and lack of presence of the head coach is another part of it. I cannot imagine a Belichick player ever being dumb enough to say that on the heels of a ****storm over PR issues with gay rumors involved too.

Character and talent. Too much to ask for both?

Real talk: being a gay fan of this team is ****ty.

The casual homophobia amongst the fanbase AND OUTRIGHT homophobia on the team.

    Ugh.

I love this team. But it hates me.

We live in a world where the foremost Catholic University in the US (ND) is more welcoming to the LGBT fan than a pro team IN MIAMI.
