Does anyone know who actually broke this story? Was it a twitter follower of this guy that saw it and reported it to whomever? Just curious.

One more thing...have you heard of kangaroo court? Generally this type of thing is weeded out within the team, where your own teammates are the judges and juries and they do the fining. I've been fined for wearing the wrong color shirt on the wrong day, by the kangaroo court on a team I worked with. They pick and choose what they feel like fining people for. I think the nfl has been pretty consistent on handing out fines for stupid things.

  3. Fossil fuels are more practicle for a host of reasons but as I said I have no problem with alternative fuels overtaking fossil fuels provided they can provide deliver enough energy in a cost effective manner. I personally wonder why hydro-electric is not used more as an alternate to fossil fuels.

I never said it was the primary way it gets funded only that people on the left push for artificially driving up the cost of using fossil fuels.

Why dont you think energy companies have a vested interest in discovering a replacement for fossil fuels. Whoever figures out the next alternative first is going to be massively rich.

They lied to us. They are doing it on tv right now with the tobacco free florida crap on tv. They tell us because somebody smoked and got a disease that it was because of the smoke. They have no idea what caused it. They are lieing to us all to advance their agenda.

What makes you think the owners are driving his ejection? They knew about him for years. This is damage control by them. They dont want to be targeted for standing up against the agenda. Anyone who defends him is immeadiately labled a racist.

An employer pays for a 40 hour work week generally. If an employer has the right to your life 24/7 then every worker who works for that employer should get quadruple the salary because in essence the employee isn't paying for those hours right now. This thoughtcrime bs needs to be challenged in court. It has nothing to do with football and that is all the nfl has the right to regulate. They have no right to players personal lives. I could swear there was some kind of law that if there is a part of the contyract that is not germain to the central job it can be dismissed

  5. I was not making light of that. I do however think your being a bit extreme with your concern if you think what he tweeted would cause a person to kill themselves.

Social media is about the individual, not the team, surely people can separate the two.

Sports is becoming so individualistic with the glory of free agency, the egos of social media, ect.
If Jones wants to go and deminish his own career/money making abilities, I don't see how its going to hurt the Dolphins any.

  7. So then build the infrastructure and replace fossil fuels without giving tax breaks out to one while taxing the other one like crazy

    fossil fuels get subsidies.

  9. Why was it ok for sam to share the emotion he was feeling with the world but jones sharing his feelings was wrong. Sam knew he was in a public setting and decided to share an intimate moment publicly. Why was that OK?

I dont understand your reasoning on that...

  11. I dont think they are consistent at all

  12. Users get taxed heavily but alternate energy users get subsidies

  13. Sam behaved inappropiately by most peoples standards as did Jones. They both did in public yet only one is being admonished

fossil fuels still get subsidies correct? In fact its in the billions from most figures I've seen. Not sure what your gripe is if either way they are getting breaks.

again how was sharing an intimate moment with an SO after a life changing event inappropriate? if you're saying the cake thing was inappropriate, then blame that on ESPN.

there are many laws that protect employees from their employers snooping into their personal lives. One area where an employer cant infringe is religion. I think Jones should sue the Dolphins for religious discrimination and whatever privacy statutes cover this scenario. I think the players union should back him. This has nothing to do with football and it crosses the line of where employment begins and privacy ends

Cause "OMG..TERRIBLE" was surely a reaction due to religion. Jones seems to be fine with his punishment, even publicly apologized. What you're no getting is, as a football player, any professional thrust into the spotlight really, has no right to privacy when it comes to stupid comments, homophobic comments. Just ask Brendan Eich, ex CEO Mozilla.

ok so basically been reading about these morals clauses. This should be sued immediately. The NFL morals clause is so ambigous that any decent lawyer could drive a truck through the NFLs justification

he should sue also. these are illegal acts perpetrated by the companies and i'm pretty sure eich and jones would win. morals clauses are weak. they are vaguely worded which leaves them open to multiple interpretations. as for eich he didnt even speak he just wrote a check. he should sue for billions. jones should sue for millions. i'm not even sure he needs to use religion after reading how weak morals clauses are

A morals clause is a provision in a contract or official document that prohibits certain behavior in a person's private life. They deal with behavior such as sexual acts and drug use. They were commonly used in the contract between actors/actresses and film studios to uphold the public image sought to be portrayed by the studio. Morals clauses are included today in certain contracts of public figures, such as athletes, actors/actresses, and others. A morals clause may also be made part of a judgment for divorce or marital dissolution, typically preventing unmarried cohabitation or overnight guests of the opposite sex while children are present.

yeah its why i think the nflpa should back him. morals clauses are more enforceable the tighter the language. the nfl's is ridiculously vague. he could easily win by saying that there is no way he knew OMG and sick would be in violation of the morals clause. there is big money to be made here now that a fine, suspension and reeducation camp have been prescribed.

Actually, every NFL contract I've ever seen includes an "integrity of the game" clause which allows the NFL to fine or suspend a player or even terminate a contract for conduct detrimental to the league. Basically an NFL player agrees to not embarrass the team whether on the field or not. This is not equivalent to some hourly job where you're either on the clock or not. You agree to be a representative for the team 24/7. Once upon a time you basically had to commit a felony to be suspended, but that's no longer the case. IIRC Big Ben was suspended w/o ever being charged. He was just an idiot and it reflected poorly on the league. Any claim about there being a point between employment and privacy with respects to these suspensions is baseless.

And the religious discrimination angle is also baseless. A player can feel free to be a bigot or homophobic or just an idiot as long as it doesn't go public. Once it goes public for whatever reason and is ruled to be detrimental to the league the player is subject to discipline. The discipline comes as a result of his idiocy becoming public. He can believe whatever he wants. He can privately be a member of any religion he wants even if it discriminates against a group.

And it wasnt actually a violation of the morals clause in his contract - it was a violation of the NFLPA clause for discrimination - and i suppose they sat him down and asked him directly what he meant and because i know he isnt that smart, he told them the truth and then they fined him and sent him to sensitivity training. The Dolphins employment attorney's are pretty cut and dry,

and i would argue this has nothing to do with integrity of the game. he is not playing the game. he is not involved in any illegal activity. the language is so vague as to make it unenforceable. sue the dolphins for all they're worth

i think they mean that you cant have a person you might be dating sleep over at your house without consent if there are children involved - Im sure there are also clauses for same sex relationships too.
