Note for Best Oline: IIRC, Baltimore should have Max Unger at center rather than Gradkowski. Big difference.

Edit: Speaking of shatty trades......my trade with Fin-O got up there to. That was literally the only trade I didn't like.

By the way, the trade I liked the most was with Detroit. I picked up a couple of elite young player's and a pro bowl center. Imo that was my best trade. Hou and GB are being too hard on themselves

yeah... my take on what people vote for in the Best in Trades category is not who necessarily who killed the competition the most, but who made the most trades. Quantity over quality. cough... Houston... cough...

    or I'm just bitter...

thanks for that, I was trying to list everyones lines/players for each category as fast as I could... it was taking a long time. I was contemplating not doing it, pain in the butt in that everyone's format was different. Didn't realize the Ravens had a before after

I think you may need your head examined. Fin-o probably agrees though since hes liked LaDarius Green for a long time. I like Niklas and Daniels more.

I guess the Iggles hated that Kendall Wright/Sebastian Vollmer swap for both sides since he criticized both teams for it. I gave the #3 job to Markus Wheaton, NE got a legit #1 (anyone who can get 1000 yards with not much across from them and Locker/Fitzpatrick throwing the ball has to be good right?) and I got a great RT. That's a win-win trade

GM of the Year shouldn't be a Walter Payton Man of the Year type award... Sheesh may as well make an award for most active GM if you think that's what it is.

Well when Oakland (who acquired 38 year old Peyton Manning) is up for team on the rise but not team built for now, I guess that is true.

Maybe all the awards need to be defined, so everyone knows what they are voting for an all the finalists are on a level playing field.

You can be a team built for now and on the rise, when a team like the Raiders have not made the playoffs in over a decade and bring in a veteran that can get them into the playoffs, they have risen from their lowly ranks and can continue on if more of the right pieces are added in the future to continue a rise to prominence. They are built for now because Peyton's window is small, but their future doesn't end there!

I vote for Team on the Rise as a team full of young players with potential, that is how I have always voted for that award. I vote for Team built for now based on who I think are superbowl contenders this upcoming season.

I also didn't vote for Texans just because they were most active. People play this GML for differnet reasons. Some want to build a team, some want to have fun during a boring offseason and some use it to learn about players throughout the league and get a better understanding.

I think Texans brought the most to the league of all the GMs this year. I also didn't think there was a top #1 choice for GM of the year this season. Every team has a flaws in my mind so I decided to reward Houston.

I'm well aware of the different reasons people play.

I'm just saying when Paul says he views it as a humanitarian style award... Kinda kills it.

Hey guys, we are gonna award Charles Tillman the MVP this year. I know he didn't have the best year on the field, but off the field? No question!

I couldn't decide what Oakland was...they get the most mixed up award. They are a team on the rise but like schisno said their window is small because their best player is 38 and has a 2 year window. Hell of a collection of young talent though

I agree. If that's the case we should just have the Social Butterfly of the Year Award. His teams sucked balls but hey.... he brought joy to the league.

For me, GM of Year is the guy/gal who, when you look at his team, makes you say "DAMN". It leaps out at you that they did a great job across the board as a whole, as in- they improved both sides of the ball, noticeably made the team more competitive, stayed true to NFL form, met goals, built up or maintained team strengths [especially if they inherited a team that's not yet ready to compete with the big boys], admirably addressed weaknesses, didn't sacrifice depth or compromise the team or ignore a weakness just to add star players for wow factor, and did well in all 3 phases of the game- Trades, Free Agency, and Draft. Plus it helps if they contributed some amusement/entertainment to the league.

I use both for Team on the Rise. I look at:
    1. the GM who did the best job turning a bad team around
    2. the GM who did the best job building a competitive team of the future

Then I measure each one against each other and decide my pick. My 2 cents
